Long Weekend Cottage Blooms....

This past weekend was glorious at the Lake...

The weather was absolutely perfect...

Lots of sunshine...

Balmy breezes...

Warm lake waters for swimming...

Lots of plants have shrivelled up from lack of rain...

But a few specimens are still putting out gorgeous blooms...

I am sharing a few with you...

And a sweet surprise at the end...

The Sedums are especially large this year...guess 'cause they are succulents, they don't need as much rain....

The Monarchs are beginning to fly past....and I know they will be stopping for some nectar from these babies... :o)

The pink  Cleome
is fat and juicy with blooms...

They share a bed with the pink obedient plants...

They attract a wide variety of nectar seekers...

Haven't seen as many Hummingbirds this year..

But another little guy has been around in the dozens...

Very difficult to get a good shot...

But I managed this shot...

Look down...

It is a Humming Bird Hawk Moth...

Isn't he adorable!!!!  Couldn't get one of him ON the flower...

But........I thought this was pretty cool!!!

Hope you all had a great wonderful weekend...

                                Cheers!           :o)

  3. Great capture of the clear wing hummingbird moth. I remember the first time I saw them and was thrilled.
My gosh, it is actually raining today. Not that drippy sort that lasts 5 minutes but a steady downfall. I'm doing a bit of sorting and a sewing project while listening to the rain come down. :)
