What a lovely surprise I found...

One of my outdoor plants.....that I brought indoors... 

Decided to bloom this morning...

On...

This First Day Of Winter morning...

It is in a bucket with one of my Spikes...

I believe it is a Variegated Vinca Vine...

Say that 3 times....tee hee hee...


On...

 This First Day Of Winter... 

There is also some English Ivy in the same pot...

That is still thriving as well....  

 

 I was on the phone with my daughter...

Sitting in my big comfy chair in "my" room...

And something blue caught the corner of my eye...
 
And I said...

"Well look at that"...

On...

This First Day Of Winter... 

I still have a few Geraniums blooming... 

Around the house...

On....

This First Day Of Winter....

 You will all be glad to know...

So far today...

I have...

Finished Vivian's stocking...

Sorted the stocking stuffers...

Put the presents into each person's pile...to be wrapped...

And the house is filled with the most delicious aroma...

Of Buttery Shortbread...ahhhhhhh...

On...

This.... The First Day Of Winter

         I feel good that I have accomplished so much today...

              On the menu for...

                       You ask???

                     Why....

        Juicy slow roasted Ribs...with my own secret sauce...

          Oven roasted onion soup potatoes[very yummy]

           Fresh asparagus with parmesan cheese...


SO......enjoy the rest of your day...

           think I will go and have a cup of cinnamon apple tea..

                and a few shortbread cookies!!!  tee hee hee...

  1. How lovely to see colourful blooms on the first day of winter. The snows came and sucked all the colour from the landscape ... it all looks black and white. But I must not complain as it is only the first day of winter .... 3 months less 1 day to go!!

    It's been snowing all day.
    Great for making snowman!!
    Our dinner consists of leftover cassarole .
    This one that I make is for vegan and glueten free.
    Yummy shortbread.... Do you dip yours in melted chocolate?

  3. Now that is a nice and pretty, surprise to find on the first day of winter! Lovely. We went to town today and finished up. I'm exhausted. We're watching Lord of the Rings episode 2. Well, hubby is. I have one eye on the computer too. :) Have a nice weekend.

  4. How fun for your plants to bloom for you today! :) I just cut off rose blooms that were past their time and my begonia is still going strong...and a Christmas cactus.

    1. My Christmas cactus peaked early...still a few blooms...
      My begonia is still putting out tiny flowers as well...
      Think I will take a few shots...as the sun is out right now!!
