Blooms....Baskets.....And Some Birds

 On Thursday...

These Irises...

Were still buds...

But...

On Friday...

They exploded!!

Aren't they a gorgeous colour...

Not quite sure WHAT colour they are...

Kind of mauvey...

Pinkey...

Yellowey...

But...

GORGEOUS!!

Remember I was going to do my baskets of annuals this past weekend...

Well...

I got 4 done...

And, then..

I...

Realized...

I...

Had..

No...

Baskets!!!!

I guess I pitched them in the bonfire at some point, as they had seen better days!!!

I spruced up a couple of them with a fresh coat of spray paint...

And...

Will bring some from home...for this weekend...

I had picked up several over the winter months at various thrift shops...

Lookin' good!!!

 So...

These will wait by the composter 'til next time...

But the ones below...

Came home with me...

To do my front planter...

They spent the night in the shed...so the box would not be soaked for the drive home!!

I planted 4 Zucchinni plants on the beach...When the new deck went in, a lot of what he dug up, was removed to the beach, so it is a perfect place to plant a small veggie garden....More plants to come!!

A Purple Martin pair in our birdhouse...

Hope you all had a great day...

I did a lot of running around today...

And then we watched Vivian...went for a nice walk with her...

Gave her her supper and a bottle...washed her up...sleepered her up..

Her Mom just picked her up...she is POOPED!!!

AND...so are Gramma and Grampa!!  hahaha!!!

On the menu tonight...

      BBQ'D Cajun Ocean Perch Filets...

Chinese rice and the old standby....asparagus!!

Enjoy the rest of your evening...

                         Cheers!  :o)

  1. You've done so much planting! I love the idea of planting in baskets, they're going to be so pretty as everything fills in. Your irises are beautiful, I love the mauvey color.

  2. Isn't it amazing how exhausting babies can be? How did I ever get through taking care of so many?

I love your cottage. How far down Lake Erie are you from Buffalo?

  3. I love baskets for planters but mine have all seen better days, so none this year. I love the colours on that iris and it would make a wonderful addition to my collection. Clouds moving in now, some rain for Thursday ... perhaps an inside day to start putting carpet in the downstairs bedroom.

visiting here is like spending time at a resort. then a little self supporting farm. then the most beautiful flower nursery. then a precious human nursery...
    i just can't decide.
