Colourful Backyard....

Late yesterday afternoon...

We were sitting by the pool...enjoying the HEAT...

And I noticed quite a lot of colour popping around my yard...

I have 2 different Evening Primrose...

One on a tall stalk...

And the other a short bushy one...

Both beautiful...

I actually prefer the buttery colour of the smaller one...

But I like the height of the taller one...

Also sporting a few sweet tiny yellow blossoms....is my Patio Tomato Plant...

It already has some fruit on it!

My perennial Hens & Chicks has sprouted a long "thingie"...

Kinda cool, eh?

It will obviously be flowering pretty soon...

I'll be watching this guy...

I think the flowers will be on the pinkish side...

Any ideas???

I have had this climbing rose bush for probably 20 years...

Never fails to bloom every year...

It is getting kind of scraggly...so...I think I will trim her down after the blooms are finished...Is this advisable for a climber???

My Rose Campion is looking great....quite a few blooms...but...with the wind, it was hard to get a clear shot...

This Pink Begonia is so beautiful...I think that Begonias are right up there at the top of my favorites list....They always perform for me...and I try to bring them inside over the winter...

I bought a few "ready made" planters for the backyard...

One with hot pink and white petunias...

One with multi-colored small petunias...are they called "million bells"?

And one with multi-colored Lobelia...this one is a knock-out!!

Bought 3 different Coleus...took 2 to the cottage...

This one is pretty spectacular, eh?

Check out my Blue Delphinium...

It has 5 flower stalks this year!!!

Again...with the wind...hard to get a close shot...

But...

I think this one will do....very nicely!!

Got another Rex Begonia...my other one withered last winter...

Hopefully this one will get just as juicy as my last one!!!

Wonder if it will produce pink or white flowers?...hmmmmm...

So....

I think we have covered quite a few colours...

And...oh yes...the beautiful blue of our backyard pool...

With my boyfriend taking a refreshing dip...

While I scouted around for colours in my backyard...

Although I edited these, to add my initials...

I did NOT alter the colours at all!!

Honest!!!

Hope you all had a great day...

I finally spent some quality time with my Ironing Board...ha!

Ironed 17 golf shirts!!! Perhaps I shouldn't let it turn into a mountain!

On the menu tonight....

  Skinless Chicken Breasts..bathed in Buttermilk...then...

Rolled in Panko crumbs...dusted with cajun seasoning...

Crispy coated Fries...Greek salad...and as an added bonus...

                               Swiss Chalet dipping sauce!!  YUMMY!!!

Enjoy the rest of your day...

Still hot and humid...no rain today...who knows anymore!!!

They don't seem to be able to get the forecast right!!

                            Cheers!  :o)

  5. Lots of lovely blooms. I have the second evening primrose and it is blooming profusely right now. When my hens & chicks sprout and bloom they have a lime green flower inside. Your climbing rose looks like mine (been in the garden since we moved here 26 years ago). Mine is infested with some bugs that have eaten all the leaves. I think I'll trim my as well and see what sort of treatment I can give it for the bugs. Enjoy today ... are you off to the cottage tomorrow?
