Glamorous...Graceful...Grand Gerbera.....for me!!

The other day...

While grocery shopping...

I noticed they had Gerbera Daisies at the front of the store...

This usually annoys me...

As...

I have already checked out...and then spy something floral that I must have!!!

This time...

I didn't let myself be refused!!

I grabbed one...

And marched to the courtesy desk...

And asked.....no.....demanded....that she ring this thru for me...without having to line up again...

Of course...she obliged!!!

I have been shopping there for 35 years...and know most of the people by name!!!

Also....my daughter Erika....redesigned their floral department...and put them on the map for fresh flowers and arrangements!!!

Anyway....woudl you have been able to pass this gorgeous thing up...

                                       For $1.99!!!!

                                       **********

And....

My sunny kitchen...

Is the perfect plce to take pictures of beautiful things!!!

The colour of this gerbera is what grabbed me...

I don't think I have ever seen this deep rose before...

Usually they are yellow...or pale pink...or peach...

But this...

SPECTACULAR!!!

She is resting comfortably...

On my family room table...

Where...

I...

Can...

Keep a close eye on her!!!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend...

Dull...damp...dank...humid here...supposed to rain overnight...

We took a drive to the cottage today...

Will put that together for another post...I already had this one ready!!! swapped it for the rainy one!!! but........I know you don't mind...right????

            Onion soup roasted potatoes...

and a few fabulous tomatoes I brought home from the cottage!!

Enjoy your evening......

                                  Cheers!   :o)

It is nice to have flowers in the house on the off times of gardening , That's why I like to bring in my Geraniums cause they still bloom through the winter . Supper sounds YUMMY ! we love lamb . Thanks for sharing . Have a good rest of the weekend !

  8. She is a gorgeous colour, I can understand why you had to have her.
I was once in a restaurant with a friend, and they had a single gerbera bloom in a vase on the table. My friend commented on how lovely it was, but couldn't help touching. As she did, every single petal fell off!

  9. Gorgeous colour. A local florist has a sign advertising them ... 12 stems for $10 ... I wouldn't buy them for that price, but I took the sign literally and said I wanted the blooms too and not just the stems!!!!
It's a rainy Sunday, off to watch the grandkids at swimming lessons ... and I'll be wishing I was in the lovely warm pool too as it is chilly!

    1. Well....aren't you humorous today, Crafty!! hahaha!
My daughter brings me the gorgeous stems from work...altho she is first and foremost a floral designer, she has been in sales at the biggest floral wholesaler for about 3 years...and she gets an employee discount on all fresh goods!!!
Soon.......she will grab me some winter greens...which I beef up with my own clippings!

      Enjoy your day!
