Ode To The Hydrangea....

Every year around this time...

I head down to the Hydrangea patch...

Located outside an office building...

Always an incredible display...

I consider it my DUTY...

To pluck a few...

For my gazing enjoyment...

Also...it certainly...

Spruces up the old homestead!

Judge me...

If you must...

I take a dozen or so, from the back of the shrub, which has a very high hedge behind it...

No one will notice...tee hee hee!!!

Flowers are to enjoy,savour,taste...

And I intend to continue to do just that!

living room...(disregard the outdoor seat cushions piled in the dining room!)

family room...beside Miss V♥️

foyer...to greet us

           But the best...most beautiful...freshest...crispest..

                         Are still mine...

My Limelight Hydrangea...which sits beside the pool...

                        Enjoying the afternoon Sun...

                         And...all of its admirers...

                                         me♥️

Hope you are all having a great day...

We are off to the cottage...hope it rained out there...(fingers crossed)

Hoping for good weather...after last weekends miserable Saturday  :o(

                          Enjoy!!

                             Cheers!  :o)

  1. I carry little foldable scissors in my purse for snipping off seed heads and pretty blooms from flowers in public places ... they will only go to waste otherwise. Seems we are birds of a feather :)

  2. I saw some lovely hydrangeas in Lethbridge last weekend when I was there. I've never seen them growing in Alberta before, but perhaps southern Alberta is more conducive to them than Edmonton. Still wouldn't be easy to grow, I would think.

  3. And why not have a few - as you say no-one will ever notice.
I have a beautiful hydrangea bush just like that in my front garden.
Maria used to say before pruning it, "Wait until June across the road does her's - she always gets the timing right!"
Saw June the other day and told her that and she laughed and said, "I always waited for you to do your's and I just knew it was the right time" . . . . . lol

Like you lime green variety . . .

    Cheers ~ Eddie

  6. You *have* to cut the hydrangea because it encourages growth. That is your story and your sticking to it.

  11. I still can't believe you have the nerve to 'take' those beautiful hydrangeas even though there are plenty hanging and dripping gorgeous pink colour everywhere! What time of the day does this nepharious behaviour take place?

  15. Such a pretty pink! My old bush is loaded again this year and I forget the name of it but they turn dusty rose in September and that's when I pick some to dry. I still have bouquets from last year but they are dusty and break off so easily. I hope you have a great weekend at the cottage. Rainy and cool here in Calgary. I hear it will be in the upper 20's in Fredericton in a few days. Sorry I'm going to miss that!! I love the heat. Hugs.

  20. Love the pink! Will they last till you dry them or are they still too fresh?? I have been wanting to cut my pink ones but I think I will wait till they are a softer shade and the white Hydrangeas go green.
Too funny!! You sound like my neighbor who cut down all my wild flowers.......

  21. I love hydrangeas , we have some in the garden but they don't flower as well as they could - probably our soil I guess. I've been trying to buy a rug for our sitting room with a large pink hydrangea on it for a while now - it's always out of stock! It would look so gorgeous .
