The Day The Rains Came........

Sunday was the day the family was coming out to the cottage, for a get together...

Not long after arriving...

The heavens opened...

And....boy...did we get a lot of rain...

My daughter Lissa, my SIL Jeff and their Lola, got trapped in the shed!

No worries...an umbrella ws taken out, and escorted them inside!

The sunporch got drenched, as the rain and wind were coming from the south!

Lola waited patiently in the shed for the rain to stop...

She then had another swim with Jeff...

Love the reflection in the mirror!

My daughter Erika and Miss V were the last to arrive... for a late lunch...as you can see...Erika is eating my potato salad right from the bowl!

Good eh, Erika?

Anna looking on......

When the rain stopped...everyone was ready to get outside...even though it was still spitting a bit...and very muggy and damp...

Papa grabbed one of the garden umbrellas, so that Miss V could continue her beach work...

She loves shovelling the sand and stones into her bucket♥️

Soon enough the sun broke through...and started to dry things up...

Miss V and Mommy were getting ready to make the trip home...an alternate route as the bridge was still closed...

A quick change of clothes...

A drink for the drive...

And off they went...

The rest of us retired to the beach deck...

To enjoy the sunset...

And a piece of the moon...

Had a great day!

Can't wait for the next time♥️

Hope you are all having a great day...

Still hot here...peaks of sun...had more rain overnite...

I have Miss V napping, so I thought I would get this post done early...

Enjoy the rest of your day......

                                       Cheers!  :o)

  4. Quite some rain!! Lola looked very happy in the dry there though just enjoying the view. What a shame that your porch got so wet, I hope that it all dried out OK afterwards. xx

  5. Gosh what a lot of rain . . . and your poor sun porch all drenched. Is sun porch a Canadian word for ours, conservatory. I sell those occasionally for a local window and door company - I have been an agent with them for years and very often pick up a sale. Great to see you and the family enjoying yourselves and glad you got some good weather eventually . . .
    Cheers ~ Eddie

    1. Hi Eddie...
I guess the difference is, that our sunporch only has screens....no glass...
I think your conservatory, would be more like our solarium over here...which has glass and usually glass ceilings as well....
The evening was fine...and...everything before had been great...but that is another post!
      Enjoy your evening!

  6. Looks like fun even with the rain! At least everything has kept green and lively with the rains this summer. I do hate it when it is so dry the grass gets brown and crunchy!

I'd eat potato salad right from the bowl, too! haha. Yum!

  11. I love the rain too - especially watching a storm come in over the water. So beautiful. Although I would be hard-pressed to live in Vancouver permanently. Love all your family photos, Linda. I am laughing at Lola who is sheltered from the rain and yet then goes in for a swim... ha!

  12. I keep thinking I should take a good rain walk, but it keeps not happening instead.
I have two boys for two days. Jake got us up in the middle of the night and he and I ended up crawling into the big bed with Josh. Here's hoping tonight is better.

  15. Nice family photos. That Miss V, is she a doll or what. I love the way she just struts around all the time without a care in the world. haha! Some of my best memories growing up was when I spent time at the cottage and it poured rain. It was always exciting, especially if it included thunder. You asked about the reno, Linda. May I just say that NO, I am not good with renos and right now I feel rather homeless because this place is upside-down and will be for awhile. The more I am somewhere else while this goes on, the better for everyone. Deb
