The BIrds Are Back...... ♥️

One of the first things I did after getting home...

Was...fill up my bird feeders...

It took a day...but...soon...they started to show up...

There were also Nuthatches and Chickadees...

But they were so skittish...even though I was inside...

I captured a few shots...

But...definitely blurry...will keep at it, and get some good shots!!

It wasn't long before...

the STARS of the show, turned up...

"I see you there Mr Cardinal...yes...right there...behind the Lilac bush"

He moved in...

And made sure everything was all AOK for the Mrs...♥️

"Ok...my dear...go ahead...have a nice meal...I'll keep watch for that crazy

lady in the window...Geesh...enough with the pictures already..."

Of course...

There could not be a feeding time, that dear little RED...doesn't show up!!!

He got a lovely meal of pear and apple cores.....

YUMMY!!

Hope you are all having a great day...

Still blustery...sunny...cold!!

Got some cleaning done today...freshened things up!

Picked up a few Easter goodies today...and some new yarn for an Easter project for Miss V...I better get crackin' on that one!!

Taking it nice and slow in the kitchen today...

Scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, hash browns for dinner...

With a few sliced tomatoes on the side...

What's cookin',boilin',bakin' or roastin' in your kitchen today??

Enjoy the rest of your day...

I have a big mug of Apple Cinnamon Tea made...

Think I'll see if I can get a start on that crochet, before dinner...

                                    Cheers!  :o)

  2. It doesn't take long for the birds to return when we have been away even as long as you were. It looks like Red survived without your food too. I wonder who else is feeding him? :) We have had dozens of birds the past several days due to the storms. They are so hungry. Supper tonight will be ham, rice and a veggie. Enjoy your evening.

  7. We have so many squirrels..that the birds..don't get much..once the little water features are operational..we get many more. One ancient tree..I had a finch feeder hanging from wire..the squirrels couldn't get to it..I loved all the finches..we had to have the tree taken down..What a void!

These ancient trees leave such blank spaces:(
    Sunny and frigid here today.
    I dehoarded my craft room..still needs..work.
    Your squirrel pic is formidable.
    I've started Easter too;)

    1. Perhaps buy a double hook that goes in the ground for the finch feed....
The squirrels don't like Nyger seed anyway!
Always sad to lose trees....we have HUGE ones at the cottage....always worry in big wind storms....
Good job on the craft room.....I need to organize some fabrics I bought....
      Happy Easter shopping!

  9. Oh, that Red is a character. He must know he is a big part of this blog. The Starlings showed up at my feeders today. I'll have to read up on them as I'm not sure if they go South in the winter. I hung up a suet case full of short pieces of scrap wool this morning for the birds to use in their nests. I think I might have some colour in my trees this Spring. :) Dinner sounds delish as usual. I've started picking up a few things for Easter, too. I love to get the wee ones new books for their baskets.

I usually get the Starlings in the fall.....they eat the berries on my Ivy....
Great idea for the wool scraps....they say dark colours are the best....not to draw too much attention to the nests....
Good idea with the book for the basket...I got her some stickers so far....
      Actually...I think I'll crochet her a basket!

  12. Hmm...that's why I haven't seen you at S.Common, you're having too much fun getting resettled at home. Not intended to make you feel guilty, ha, ha. My BF made burgers on the BBQ, beef for him, chicken for me. We also had roasted brussel sprouts with olive oil and maple syrup, very yummy. Take care and enjoy...

  14. Love Mr. Cardinal making way for the Missus - chivalry lives!
Awww, Red - he's my favourite. So darn cute. Maybe he was in a frenzy on your fence today to show how happy he is that you've returned. :-)
Nothing cookin', boilin', baking or roastin' in my kitchen because I was at a girlfriend's for dinner. The one who is near Royal York and the Queensway. For appetizers we had apple martinis, amazing organic ham and organic cheese with crackers, baby carrots, celery and hummus. Then for dinner we had a lovely mesclun salad, basmati rice and salmon fillets with a creamy dill sauce. Sooooooo good. No room for dessert but we did have a smattering of chocolates. I am stuffed!
