The Flowers Say It All........

We headed for the cottage on Thursday morning, as the weather people, said it would be a great day out on Lake Erie...

We arrived to a soggy, steamy, messy cottage...lots of dirt washed up from the rains and winds...and the KEYS from the Maple trees...don't get me started on that!!

We had some lunch, and got started on our various tasks...

Boyfriend blew,raked and swept keys..

Then he tried to murder them with the lawnmower...but every attempt failed...miserably!!

And....every time the wind picked up...they would come twirling down!!

I chose the sunporch and kitchen porch as my projects...cleaned, wiped, swept, polished from top to bottom...lovely and clean...after we had both finished, we were sweaty and dirty...We decided we should have at least one cold beer before our showers...well...perhaps 2...hahaha!

After all of that...feeling refreshed and clean...we settled back on the beach deck, to watch the goings on...birds, squirrels, chipmunks...you get the idea...

Well...the skies darkened....and the fog started to drift in..and I mean pea soup fog!!! In we went, as a sort of misty rain, accompanied the fog!!

We decided to watch the news, and see if we could get a weather report...

We ate dinner, and then was when I got the bird shots...thru the window!!

Around 8pm...the sky cleared...and the wind died down...too wet to sit outside, so our beloved screened sunporch was clean as a whistle, and whistling our names!!

I enjoyed my flower pots that I had planted out there...my son and Anna gave me those for my birthday!! Nice, eh??

SO.............that was our Thursday...

I wonder what Friday will have in store for us??? hmmmmm....

Hope you all had a great weekend...

Got around to a few of you...not all...will get there...promise!!

We had Miss V today...gosh it was hot at the park!!

She dangled her toe toes in the pool to cool off!!

Enjoy the rest of your day...

Cheers!   :o)

  12. I'm loving the third photo but the flowers are foreign to me...then again I'm not good at this. Funny how we are having the same weather...the fog is thick in the morning and the humidity is suffocating. We've had tornadoes---numerous tonight and in the past 5 hours just south of us...so much damage we won't know til tomorrow when it's daylight. We were spared but I had all of the right stuff at hand in case we had to go 'underground'.

Sun porches are fabulous. We never wanted to enclose our covered patio off the lakehouse so we built a sort of detached little 'house' with 7 screened windows that we can close in the winter and in inclement weather. I adore the space but it is a jog from the house if you want to escape the rain, coming or going!! Ha!

      That is a Portulaca....succulent....nice,eh?
I saw your weather on the news this morning...lots of damage!
Ours has a door from inside....just screens, so....if the rain is from the south, with any wind, it gets soaked!
We do have winter shutters that go on....
      Stay safe from the storms!

  14. Lovely flowers, my begonias are doing amazing this year, must love the location. We had terrific thunder storms early, early this morning and heavy rains. But what else is new, we go shopping on Tuesday and lately it has always been a wet day! I own't be around much for a few weeks, heading out to BC to visit family on Vancouver Island. I hired 2 gardeners (grandkids here) to come and water my veggies and pots. Had to negotiate a price with the oldest grandson who is just finishing grade 2 :)
