Our Visit To Clear Lake........

As you all may remember...my boyfriend and I had a sleepover with friends last week...the drive in on hwy#28 was beautiful, to say the least...we stopped along the way, and I bought 6 of the most amazing tarts you have ever had!!
Once we arrived...after being LOST for an hour, my friend Nancy guided us in via cell phone!!
what a spectacular spot!! They had torn down their cottage...sold their home in Peterborough, and built a permanent home on Clear Lake...so different from our Lake...but just as spectacular!!
We made our way down all of the steps, after being shown our lovely room and bath...they have a bunkie down near the water...equipped with a toilet and fridge, and all the goodies you would ever want...cutlery,glasses, serving platters etc...and a pull out sofa for extra guests....
We sat on the dock for hours...I had brought a few snacks, and we nibbled away on those...
When we finally went up for dinner...I took a few shots thru the window, and in the kitchen...didn't want to show too much of the interior...after all...it is their private space, and I respect that!! Not that they said anything about that!
Just my own personal opinion!
While the boys were BBQ'ing delicious pork shishkebobs, I went back down.....and cut a few flowers for the table...Nancy was thrilled!
Dinner was delicious, and we had a fabulous time talking about old and new times...
Nancy and I have known each other for 50 years!! Got into a lot of good troubles in our teens....Her husband Joe, we have known for 42 years...great guy...they have 3 grandsons now...and a granddaughter due in August and another grandson in October...they are thrilled!!
It was really nice to relax and enjoy their company...
We left at about 8:30 in the morning...and struggled with the traffic, due to the Pan Am games...finally got to the 407 toll hwy, and we were home in no time!!

Here is the sun in the morning, coming up over the lake...

Truly a beautiful spot...

So happy for Nancy & Joe ♥️

Hope you are all having a great day...
Sweltering here...even hotter tomorrow...into the 40's!!!
My boyfriend is taking me to Swiss Chalet for dinner...
My reward for running around all day...Dr visit,Homesense,Loblaws,Walmart,Shoppers Drugmart....
Phew!!
Tomorrow is Miss V for a sleepover...picked her up a new pair of jammies...
Minnie Mouse...she will love them!!
Hopefully a swim before it gets too hot...

                   Enjoy your evening...
Thanks for all your lovely get well wishes...

                                  Cheers!  :o)

  3. Lovely place, Linda. It looks very modern and quite posh. They are very smart to sell it all and move to where their heart is. I wonder what it will be like come winter. Probably beautiful. Swiss Chalet sounds like a good idea on one of the hottest evenings so far this summer. Enjoy!

  4. How fun for your friends to make their permanent home on the lake. I'm sure it all started with weekend visits in their cottage and realizing that they just never wanted to leave! Very fun! Love the neat space they have created down by the water with all the items you need so you don't have to go back up to the house. Sounds like they gave everything a lot of thought.

Interesting comparison with your lake/cottage and it seems in many ways quite similar . . but very bold of them to make it their permanent home . . . :)

Clear Lake is tiny compared to Lake Erie...they thought the water was rough that day! Hahaha!
They go south for 6 weeks in Feb and March....but, yes....very bold! But....beautiful!

  7. Lovely photos of your visit. Clear Lake reminds me of my childhood summers spent at our cottage on the lake in the Laurentians. Today was visiting day at my grand daughter's day camp. Neat location on Staten Island, but whew, very hot here also. Stay cool. :)

  12. What a delightful time you have had, with a lifelong friend for company. It is wonderful the way some special friendships span the years. The house and the lake are so lovely, and remind me of our weekend at another lake in May. Nearly three months ago, already! The whole lake experience is so restful, and so beautiful to see. And I am still in love with red Ontario barns!! Have a good week, Linda.
