A Bit Of Summer Crochet....Completed!!

I had decided that this Summer...I would get a few things done, before Christmas was nipping at my toes!!

I have completed 6 Cowls...I have already given one to Erika for her birthday...It was a different stitch that I tried...one stitch in front loop, then one stitch in back loop...I like the way it turned out...

{see pics below}

The small blue one is one row in the front loop, then the next row in the back loop...
Alternating rows...
Also an interesting look....

The other ones, are with all stitches in the back loop only...a nice technique that Linda at White Weathered Hutch {side bar} taught me...I like that it resembles a knitting stitch...
The cowl I made for Pam in the Maritimes was the same stitch...

The picture of the alternating stitch doesn't do it justice...but you can see in the photo below...where Erika is wearing the cowl...I find it looks kinda like a basket weave stitch...

This super soft white one is for Miss V...
She looks so cute in these cowls...♥️

This one, I just started last weekend at the cottage...

So nice and bright!!

Not sure who it is for...

Maybe Moi!!

For all you crocheters out there...
The yarn I used is...
For the grey ones...I used Bernat Premium Worsted 4ply...and I used nearly the whole ball...7oz...The one I gave Erika wraps around twice...the others are not as big..
The Blue and Beige are Red Heart Super Saver...Worsted 4 ply...5oz...
Bought these both at Walmart...
The new project is from the yarn I bought at Michaels...

Hope you are all having a great day...
Rainy and miserable and humid here...
BUT...
I was lucky enough to have lunch at a sweet friends house...
Lots of chitchat...good for the soul♥️
And a delicious offering too!

My son will be joining us for dinner tonight...
Spaghetti..crusty bread...ceasar salad...

Enjoy the rest of your day!!

Cheers!  :o)

  2. I like these a lot. I'm going to try your stitches. I often use the back only pattern just because it makes it more like a knit.

  15. Love the cowls, Linda. I love that you sit by the water and crochet. Never thought about that...just reading a good book. But now, I'll have to take my knitting down to the dock with me. We have had rain all week and expecting Joquin to bring even more over the weekend. We needed it, but the rain is putting a damper on my weekend plans. Yikes! Hope yours is nice.
