Failed Christmas Cookies....

Everything started out splendidly...
Miss V and I were to bake a few Christmas cookies...
I cheated and bought the Pilsbury sugar cookie dough in a roll...
I had never used it before, and I thought we could roll it out...
Use my snappy cookie cutters...and...VOILA!!
Instant Christmas cookies....

Well...

Apparently not!
The dough would not roll out...
It was extremely sticky...
Melted under your touch...
                                       GEESH!!
SO...

Nana got out the parchment paper...
Made small cookie balls...pressed them down with a fork...
And let the happy baker decorate with sprinkles...

What happened next...
Was...to say the least...not expected!
They all melted into one big darn old cookie!!

Miss V really didn't know what to make of it!!

I let it cool...and went to work with one of my gingerbread men cookie cutters...
I managed to get about 6 cookies...some headless...some footless..some armless...OMG!!! What a mess!!

I placed them very carefully into a plastic container for her to take home!

The look on her face is priceless!!

Couldn't make this stuff up,eh??

She is hilarious!!

Trying not to hurt my feelings....♥️

Trying to smile...

"Gee Nana...these Christmas cookies are...uh...err...special!! Yeah...that's it...they are special!! Thanks Nana....I think..."

The lovely baker Monique...over at "La Table De Nana"...would never have this kind of catastrophe... Right Monique??? hahaha!

Perhaps this Wednesday we will make a few more banana loaves...

We had great luck with those!!

                                  ***************************

Hope you all had a great day...

So dark and gloomy here...just one or two flashes of sunshine...

Warm though...so I guess we'll have to take what we are given...

                                  ****************************

Gonna BBQ some Snapper...it is soaking in some buttermilk...
Rice with mushrooms and peppers along side...

I made a small pot of soup with some leftover Roast Beef...we had it for lunch...

                            DELICIOUS!!!

       Enjoy your evening...

              Cheers!  :o)

  4. HaHa! Love the expression on Miss V's face! I had a cookie fail last week, too. I followed the oatmeal cookie recipe on the lid of the oatmeal box. They turned out dry. Oh well, you live and learn. It's great that our loved ones cuts us some slack, eh?

    2. Lord, yes. They've been here since last Tuesday. Hopefully, they will finish up tomorrow. I'm really happy that I'm getting freshly painted walls....I'm just ready for it to be done. LOL! The lake is good....the weather has been perfect....mid 60's during the day with sunshine and upper 30's to low 40's at night. Love it! I saw your dreary weather at the lake last weekend. You are due for a sunny weekend!

  12. I just looked at the photo of your most beautiful tray of Hors D'oeuvres on your previous blog, then looked at the sad title on this blog and thought I misread it. But mistakes happen and you're brave enough to post it. Miss V.'s little face is priceless and she obviously loved baking with you. And you're still a successful baker and chef in my mind! :)

My cookie disasters usually are something like leaving out an ingredient or burning them to a crisp. lol....

  15. What a darling little girl, taking consideration of her Nana's feelings! I wonder what it was about the cookie dough? I have never used it, so have no idea, but to run together like that is quite strange. Look forward to your next cooking session.
