Who Doesn't Love Ice Cream Sandwiches....♥️

 Miss V has always loved Ice Cream Sandwiches...
Since she was really little...
Well...honestly...who can blame her?
We had a lovely day with her last Wednesday...
And we looked after her today, while her Mom went to a Flower Show in Toronto...
We played in the basement for a while...
Which got me motivated to start editing down there...
I actually filled 3 boxes to donate...and dusted!
When my kids were young, we spent a lot of time down there...
Especially at Christmas...we would have a full house Christmas Eve...
For years and years it was a tradition...
And...the boyfriend and I had many fun parties down there...
Valentines...Birthdays...New Years...always lots to eat & drink...
And lots of dancing...
Those were the good old days...
We had fun with her down there this morning...
Remembering celebrations...guests...fun times...♥️
I think when we bring her Princess Kitchen home from the cottage...
We will put it in the basement...along with some of our own childrens things...
She still loves to ride the wooden rocking horse that was made for my eldest daughter...
Off track or what, eh?? hahaha!

                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I wanted to show you all the yarn I purchased for a project while I am away...
I will crochet my daughter...for her birthday...a "beachy" afghan...
The colours did not photograph well...
I have 3 colours...silver blue...silver grey...linen...
Wanted to do something with a Granny Square...
So.....I searched PINTEREST...
I came across this image...
No pattern...but looks easy enough...
Large Multi-coloured Granny Square...
Plain Granny Square...
Is that the way you other crocheters see it?
Or is the one square just crochet...
Not a Granny Square??
Any feedback is welcomed...
I do believe it will be very pretty...
Will keep me busy at nights!!
Hope you all had a great weekend...
We got out to the cottage on Friday...
Breezy, but not too cold...
Everything looked beautiful!!
Had a few Chickadees scurrying around, but could not get a shot of them...too quick!!
The weather here is turning rather nasty this evening...
Very gusty winds...snow flurries...temps dropping by 15 degrees overnite!
Should be a hideous commute in the morning...
Think we'll have a fire tonight...snuggle under one of my afghans!!
Enjoy the rest of your day...and the week ahead...
                            Cheers!  :o)
    1. Hi Eddie...
      Oh dear....really? Perhaps it is a Canadian thing....chocolate wafer with ice cream in the middle...thus, a sandwich!
      Try one!
      Birdie is concerned for you.....see below!
    3. Just looked it up on web. Veeeery nice! . . . and I haven't seem one here although I have lived a very sheltered life . . . ha
      We have ice cream wafers, which of course I am used to.
      When you first mentioned the word sandwich it conjured bread around the ice cream and that is what caused my original response . . . :)
    Pretty colours of yarn and I like the pattern. What a lovely gift.
    I never did hear about her reaction to the Princess Kitchen... or maybe I missed it in a post. I bet she was thrilled.
  9. Well, I can't be a crochet advisor, but I can enjoy sweet little Miss V. and her ice cream sandwich. And it sounds as if you're having lots of lovely memories connected to your basement. We had our kids and grandkids here for lunch today, lots of fun! Have a good week, Ms. Linda. :)
  10. Your sweetie always makes me smile---those huge eyes and perky little nose...she is perfection. Ice cream sandwiches are my favorite, too. For a long time my husband was buying the Skinny Cow version. Well, we know there is no such thing as a skinny cow (!) and I was corralled into thinking I could eat one or more here and there, usually more. lol!
    I like that you made progress in your basement, fun to have company. The afghan, I think it's going to be gorgeous simply because I love these colors so much, very soft and sort of beachy. I don't crochet so I know nothing about patterns. I think you will come up with something beautiful.
    Very very cold here---7 degrees right now. I had to make a run to the grocery store and I was frozen and my lungs ached. Used to horrid temps but today got to me, the wind, I'm sure.
    I think I'm good here at home for another day or two---still have that blasted tree to take down!!!
    Happy New Week! :)
      Just back from a VERY brisk walk...brrrr!
      Take the darn tree down!!! hahaha!
  11. Lovely color combo for the new crochet project . . . like yum!
    Not an expert on crochet, although I have made some quilts in very large granny squares . . .
    Sweet Miss V . . . needs a chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich next . . .
    I think I need one too . . .
  13. Love the color and texture of the yarn. I'm certainly not a crocheter. I'd probably put in an ironstone bowl and display! Love it! That little cutie is yummier than the ice cream sandwiches. Sometimes Ilove my babies so much I think I can eat them up, as my mama would say.
  14. Miss V has the most beautiful big eyes! And yes, I do like ice cream sandwiches too. The afghan pattern is lovely and I like the colours you chose for making one. It was very mild and rainy here last night but the temperature has dropped below freezing after lunchtime from 8 degrees this morning! Going to be a cold week!
  15. Yummy ice cream sandwiches, at any time of the year. I'm sure you are right about the pattern, love the colours you will be using. It's bitter cold here again today, with the odd snow flurry, but the sun is out and as long as you aren't outside for a long time it is lovely.
