Happy Family Day!

It seems that we are always away on Family Day....

Our kids usually get together....

And Face Time with us.....

Things are a little different this year.....

Erika and Miss V were going to the movies to see the new Kung Fu Panda....

My son Ryan had my Daughter Lissa and husband Jeff out for the afternoon, at his and Anna's....

I sent them all this picture that I have been carrying around in my wallet for probably 35 years....

My son said...."We look like the sailing family".....♥️

My girls in hand sewn and smocked dresses, made by my Aunt Honor....

Ryan in his sailor suit....most likely a gift from his Uncle Bill and Aunt May.....

Gotta love the early '80's for great styling! Hahaha!

Hope all who had the day off enjoyed it with their families....

Boyfriend and I decided to take in a 1pm movie, as it is overcast today....

No such luck....PACKED! Is it an American holiday today?

Anyway....gonna have breakfast for dinner...and I will be crocheting....

Afghan coming along nicely....

Enjoy the rest of your day....

                  Cheers!   :o)

  1. Hi Linda: "Happy Family Day." That wonderful (memory-filled)photo is so 80's. I have many like that myself; dad, mom and three kiddos. I just hung one up on our stair-case today. I have been going through boxes of photos lately. I'm sure you miss all your gang. We are getting together with my sister, brother-in-law, brother and his partner for dinner tonight. Haven't spent Family Day with them for too many years. ;)We wait anxiously for our new grandittle. *on pins & needles* haha! Enjoy your evening you lucky duck. It's still cold here. hugs, Deb

  3. Love, love your 80's family photo, I think I have a similar one of my family! And you're such a good looking bunch. Yes, it's President's Day in the U.S. I hope that you and the BF saw an enjoyable movie, there's some good ones out there. My BF and I had lunch at your favourite spot, "Brown's Social House." Happy Family Day to you and yours, Linda. :)

  6. What a great family photo Linda - made me smile this morning :) We also have a similar one from the 80s - great time to have three little kids. My daughter told me about Family Day on skype - they went skating, so cute. It is -30 over in Ottawa. I guess skating is the thing to do...

  7. Aw - look at that sweet photo! I love it. Precious memories.
Yes, it's Presidents Day in the U.S. so I guess people flocked to the movies.
Sounds like your family was busy with different things.
My folks aren't doing too well, so we talked on the phone but I didn't see them. Had a great date though with Dad last week. Went to Massey Hall for a concert.
Happy crocheting! Oh, and I had brekkie for dinner too!

  9. I've never heard of Family Day, either....but what a great one! I used to smock my girls dresses when they were toddlers. My husband has an Aunt Honor.....his mother's twin sister. Maybe tommorow' weather will be better for you. It rained here all day, today.

  10. Our Family Day was last Monday. We went skiing with a cast of thousands, haha! The mountain is so big here that it wasn't too bad. How come our Family Day is different than the rest of the country?? Too bad you didn't get into the movie :(

  13. Great family photo! My MIL did a lot of smocking for my kids, but it's tough for a boy to wear a smocked shirt ;) What a nice looking bunch you are! Too bad about the movie. My husband and I saw Star Wars on the weekend, while my son and his pals saw Dead Pool. It's a restricted movie and we had to cheat to get them into the theatre because none of them are quite 18 (and they didn't want my husband and I to watch it with them!). Thankfully, they finally got into the movie and enjoyed it. I've never seen movie attendants check ID at the door before!

  14. Oh, I love this picture, Linda. I think you look much the same but your boyfriend has changed---and I think he's very much as handsome with his distinguished gray beard...seriously.

Yes, it was President's Day today here. I went to Target thinking it was cold and snowy and would be empty. Terrible!! Like a Saturday. Ha!

Hope (and know) you are having a great vacay! So envious!

  17. Aw what a sweet family photo Linda. So cute! We don't have family day here in NB although they are looking into it. Ha! Probably, if we get a family day, we'll lose Boxing Day as a holiday after Christmas which some provinces don't have. Ya can't win! LOL Hope the weather is warmer there today. It's 8 here! Springy feeling. :)
