New Flag!!

I forgot to tell you all!!

I know I have shown you our flag on the beach many times...

My boyfriend buys them at the $ store, and we usually go thru 3 a year!!

We did not put up our Martin House this season...we hardly got any mating birds...and it is such a lot of work...so......the pole stood there!!

My daughter and SIL bought a flag mount, and a beautiful big flag for their Dad on Father's Day!!

They came out to the cottage...and Jeff got it installed for us!!

We love the way it looks!!!!

Doesn't it look awesome from way up at the cottage??

We could not see the other flag from up there...

Thanks so much to Lissa & Jeff ♥️

Do you remember when I showed you how much Miss V's sunflower seeds had grown at the cottage??? Well....when I returned the next week...SOMEONE had eaten them all!!! Not sure if it was Chipper or the Squirrels!!

This is how it looked....:o(

I bought some more seeds...planted them in a smaller pot...and I left it on the sunporch...to ensure NOBODY eats them!!!!

Hoping for some seedlings when I return this Thursday!!

                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope you are all having a great week...
We are dry as can be here in Southern Ontario...
Pure cloud today...cooler...but kinda damp and muggy...
Hoping for some rain overnight...
In honor of the cooler temps...I am making meatloaf and roasted potatoes...
Fresh Asparagus with that...I also got some of our Canadian Strawberries...
                                   DELICIOUS!!!!
    Enjoy the rest of your day....
             Cheers!  :o)
  5. What a beautiful flag and great flag pole to display it. Oh those little buggers for eating Miss. V's Sunflowers. Was she very sad? I must confess I haven't been a very good visitor of late. I've got "blogopause"...you will have to check my blog for details. HaHa.
    I love meatloaf and haven't made it for a while..usually make scalloped potatoes but love roasted ones too.
    Hope you're having a good week.
  7. Wind is so hard on flags, isn't it? Turns them into rags in no time! I'm not surprised to hear you go through 3 per year!
  8. the flag is beautiful and the colors are just right :)
    Tell the little one that it was so good of her to put seeds where some starving little creature, perhaps a chipmunk, could get them and have dinner. That she can get more seeds to plant and that the chipmunk will not be starving. It is All nature, the seeds and the little creatures that eat them.
  9. That flag is perfect. It looks great flying over the lake like that. So sad about the sunflowers. I keep saying I'm going to plant some and it never gets done. Hope the new ones grow for you. Your dinner sounds delicious. You've given me an idea for a dinner this week.
  12. Doh! those naughty varmints - don't they know the world is waiting for a pumpkin for Miss V?
    I love a flag, and your new one looks fantastic on its big pole. The maple leaf is a most wonderful design, I think. Meatloaf sounds delish. I made sausage rolls for Little Aussie today - do you have those in Canada?
  13. Great flag! A lovely gift. We have had trouble with slugs and snails eating sunflowers in the past so we (hubby!) grew ours in a pot to start off with this year and so far so good and they are doing well so I hope that the second go round of the seeds at the cottage fair better!
  14. Flag looks great . Oh I am sorry about Mrs V's seeds that's a shame crazy critters . I have never known the chipmunks or squirrels to eat them after they have sprouted though and here it is usually them that plant them for me from our feeders lol ! The weather has been very dry here all the clouds seem to be rolling past us and down to the south east end of the lake . The cooler temps this past day or so have been lovely for gardening . Thanks for sharing , Lovely photos , Have a good day !
  17. Love your flag on the Martin pole. Our flag is flying in the front yard on its own pole. Our girls gave Cliff a Martin house for Fathers Day. Now we just need a pole for that. Sorry to hear about the seedlings....I bet it was that squirrel. They can be such a nuisance. I have one eating my peaches (that are not ripe, yet). I need to figure out what to do with him or I won't have any peaches left.
  21. The flag is a nice finishing touch to the cottage beach! Such a nice gift, too. So sad about Miss V's sunflowers, but it is good that you had more seeds to start again. We've lost our sun again, here, but maybe a cooler summer is not so bad. I keep telling myself that......Take care. x Karen
