Christmas At Our House.......✨✨✨

I had cut a few wee branches of White Pine, from one of my trees at the cottage. I also snipped a few pieces of Euonymus from the back yard here at home...The Red and White Carnations that I bought were a perfect match for the fresh festive greens...And the Christmas centerpiece was born!
I love the green and red and white with my tartan tablecloth!!

Christmas Eve was looking very festive indeed!!
Other than going to Church with our son...{boyfriend...not me}
Boyfriend and I spent a quiet Christmas Eve this year...
Taking in the candlelight and Christmas lights...while watching The Christmas Carol...with Alastair Sims...which I had recorded the night before...Always look forward to that movie...and never tire of it...and always shed a few tears as well...❤️

Christmas Day when things really got hopping around here!!

When Miss V arrived...we shot into high gear!!!

She was very good about the presents...and we even played with a few before dinner...

She especially loved one from her Auntie Lissa and Uncle Jeff...a whole box of miniature Disney Dolls...all the female characters from most of the movies...
She was beside herself!! They also bought her a set of drums!!!!!! That they kept at their house!!!! We have a video of her playing...and I must say...a real talent!!! She has been practising on her Uncle Jeffs for a couple of years!! We laughed and said she could drive her Red VW to her gigs! hahahaha!!!

Dinner went off without a hitch...

everyones dietary needs were met!!

Lemon Cheesecake, and Gluten Free Apple Berry crisp with Ice Cream for dessert...

Boyfriends brother and our Nephew joined us for dessert...

We had lots of laughs...and everyone behaved themselves! hahaha!!!

After dinner...Miss V grabbed my hand, and asked to go out and see the Moon and the lights in the back yard.....I said there was no Moon that night, but we could absolutely go out and look at the lights together...she said "Lets get our blue rain boots Nana"....and...."get your camera, and take a picture of our boots in the snow"...OMG...I thought I was going to cry right then and there...my wee Miss V loves the routine and rhythm of Nana and Papas house...I could not be happier with that...it made my day...love her so much...I cannot explain...but...anyone with grandchildren gets it...♥️♥️♥️
And...when they relish what you do and have done with them, it is the best reward in the world...ok...ok...enough mush...gosh...my glasses are fogging up, and I need to finish this post, so I can go work on my afghan!!

I am sure you all enjoyed yourselves immensely over the last few days...

And I am sure you all look forward to getting back into the old routine!!

I want to wish you all the best in 2017...health and happiness...

Perhaps I will be back before New Years Eve...any plans??????

I think we are off for a drive to the cottage tomorrow...will pick up Miss V and take her along with us...she LOVES the cottage...any time of year!!

Enjoy the rest of your week...

                         Cheers!   :o)

WInterey Bits & Bobs.....❄️⛄️❄️

We have been getting a lot of snowfall the last few days...

And really colder temps too!!

Miss V and her Papa did a great job on a small snowfall a week or so ago...

Over the weekend we got a HUGE snowfall...

She was here on Saturday, but I kept her very busy inside...

The Super Moon was amazing again this month...

And my feathered {and furry} friends kept us entertained all weekend...

I got a few more crochet gifts done as well...

A toque for Miss V...and scarves for my son and SIL...

This past Saturday, I got Miss Crafty going on a few Christmas Ornaments for her Aunts and Uncles...

She really got into the jewels, and did a great job!!

She then made a few Christmas cards...♥️

Complete with flower gardens...and big printings of her name...

She dictated to me what I should write inside...let me just say...there won't be a dry eye here on Christmas Day, when her and I hand them out....♥️

She was so excited to see our Christmas lights...

We opened the front door...for a second...'cause she wanted to "touch" the lights...:o)

While wrapping the other day...I listened to the 2016 Hi-Fi Holiday CD that my son made!!

He makes one every year...buys old Christmas LP'S...and makes a compilation of Christmas songs...You never know who or what you will hear!!
One of my favorites is a "Motown" Christmas he made...fabulous!!
He also designs and prints the labels...different every year!!
Such a talented young man...♥️

nice of him to put me on the cover this year,eh?  hahaha!!!

This beautiful young lady was blooming her face off on my kitchen table...
I just had to share her with you all....

So...that's me...up to the minute...

Hope you are all well...and staying warm from this cold!!

We are expecting much higher temps for Christmas Day...even some rain I think!

I need to do some baking...shortbread...cheesecake...but I work really well under pressure! hahaha!!

I made an apple crisp for my dinner guests last Friday   OMG  It was sooo good!! hahaha!!

Anyway.....that is it for me for now...

I have been visiting and commenting...such lovely blogs you all have!

I have deleted my FB page...not my cup of tea...I find it kinda hurtful, so I feel good about my decision...I also think in the New Year...I will change to wordpress and have a private blog. I know I have said this before...and I know you will all come with me...right???? Time will tell...

Enjoy the rest of your week...

Enjoy the first day of Winter...

Enjoy everything!!

                    Cheers!  :o)

We Took A Drive Yesterday....💨

We decided that yesterday was a good day to visit the cottage...

When we left home, the sun was shining brightly...

As we got closer to the cottage, there was a noticeable difference in the sky!!

Along the way, the snow cover got less and less, compared to what we have here at home...

In the picture above, you can see the wind picking up the snow in the fields, and making small "haboobs" with the snow...

You can tell that we are getting close, as the wind turbines start to appear...

They built a LOT over the past 2 years down by the cottage...

They don't bother us, as they are not really close to us, but a lot of people say they are very noisy!

You can see how the sky is getting darker, the further south we go...

The wind really picks up, as we drive by large empty fields...

Making the road visibility somewhat difficult...

When we finally reach the Lake, you can see the snow showers across the lake, on the American side. Buffalo NY is South East of our cottage, and we always enjoy watching the snow storms and rain events travelling across the Lake!!

The view from inside was spectacular!!

Hardly any snow...and green grass!!

The Lake was getting a good workout...for sure!

Sooooo windy...must have been gusting to at least 70km/hr!!

I made it down to the beach for a quick visit...geesh!!!!

My hair was in a knot! hahaha!!! Thank goodness for hooded coats!!

That very dark left hand corner, is where Buffalo is...the storm was headed straight for it!!

There was no snow where we were, but as we were leaving, it began.

I always love how peaceful and tidy it is inside...ahhhhhhhh!!

You would never know what was going on outside! hahaha!!

Upstairs...on the North side of the cottage, there was some frost happening on the inside of the windows...

As we travelled home...heading North...the skies were clear and blue!!!

When we reached Lake Ontario, we could see the Toronto skyline in the distance...

Never a dull moment at the Lake...♥️

Hope you are all well....and staying warm!!

It is still VERY windy here...and darn chilly too!!

-8c with a windchill of -18!!! BRRRRRRRR!!

We are expecting a ton of snow starting tomorrow afternoon into Saturday...

Having dinner guests tomorrow night...got a few presents wrapped...things are going well...and...I am loving my tree now!! ✨🎄✨

Dinner this evening is homemade beef and barley soup with chicken, lettuce, tomato and bacon sandwiches!! A real treat for us!!

Enjoy your evening...thanks for all who keep commenting...love it!!

                 Cheers!  :o)
