We Took A Drive Yesterday....💨

We decided that yesterday was a good day to visit the cottage...

When we left home, the sun was shining brightly...

As we got closer to the cottage, there was a noticeable difference in the sky!!

Along the way, the snow cover got less and less, compared to what we have here at home...

In the picture above, you can see the wind picking up the snow in the fields, and making small "haboobs" with the snow...

You can tell that we are getting close, as the wind turbines start to appear...

They built a LOT over the past 2 years down by the cottage...

They don't bother us, as they are not really close to us, but a lot of people say they are very noisy!

You can see how the sky is getting darker, the further south we go...

The wind really picks up, as we drive by large empty fields...

Making the road visibility somewhat difficult...

When we finally reach the Lake, you can see the snow showers across the lake, on the American side. Buffalo NY is South East of our cottage, and we always enjoy watching the snow storms and rain events travelling across the Lake!!

The view from inside was spectacular!!

Hardly any snow...and green grass!!

The Lake was getting a good workout...for sure!

Sooooo windy...must have been gusting to at least 70km/hr!!

I made it down to the beach for a quick visit...geesh!!!!

My hair was in a knot! hahaha!!! Thank goodness for hooded coats!!

That very dark left hand corner, is where Buffalo is...the storm was headed straight for it!!

There was no snow where we were, but as we were leaving, it began.

I always love how peaceful and tidy it is inside...ahhhhhhhh!!

You would never know what was going on outside! hahaha!!

Upstairs...on the North side of the cottage, there was some frost happening on the inside of the windows...

As we travelled home...heading North...the skies were clear and blue!!!

When we reached Lake Ontario, we could see the Toronto skyline in the distance...

Never a dull moment at the Lake...♥️

Hope you are all well....and staying warm!!

It is still VERY windy here...and darn chilly too!!

-8c with a windchill of -18!!! BRRRRRRRR!!

We are expecting a ton of snow starting tomorrow afternoon into Saturday...

Having dinner guests tomorrow night...got a few presents wrapped...things are going well...and...I am loving my tree now!! ✨🎄✨

Dinner this evening is homemade beef and barley soup with chicken, lettuce, tomato and bacon sandwiches!! A real treat for us!!

Enjoy your evening...thanks for all who keep commenting...love it!!

                 Cheers!  :o)

  8. I love your pictures and the forces of nature. It seems the weather gets windier and more wild as we approach Lake Michigan as well. Your cottage looks so cozy...does it make you sad to leave?

Love your boots. Do you remember where you found them?

I'm doing well with my Christmas prep. Tree up and most of the decorating done, I'm happy with my light touch. It actually looks better than last year and years before! Looking forward to starting to bake next week.

Snow predicted here over the weekend, too. Staying snug at home and chilling in front of the fire and the pretty lights of the tree!

  12. Your photos of the countryside and the lake are beautiful. It looks so cold with the snow blowing across the road and fields. Well, I guess that's what it looks like here too! lol Enjoy the weekend.

  13. Wow Linda, it does look dramatic, and very cold. Your photos are wonderful, the lake, the snow in the fields, I love it all. You really do need special clothes for it all, don't you. We are tempted to try going over for Christmas 2017, as we have never seen a white Christmas. It would be exciting, from what you show.

  15. Always enjoy your weather photos, especially those at the Lake. Lots of snow here in NYC when I first arrived, but it melted super quickly because the temps are always warmer here. Busy, fun weekend, just waiting for a flight home. Have a good week, dear Linda. 😊
