💧It's Peony Time💧

On this rather bleek...dreary...drippy...Monday morning...

What a thrill to see the first of my Peonies blooming!!!

This is the White one...obviously!! hahaha!! And very beautiful indeed!

I spied them thru my kitchen window...

Snapped a pic...

Then grabbed my snippers, and proceeded to wade thru the tall grasses to get them clipped!!

I always dip the blooms and leaves into the pool...

This gets rid of any uninvited visitors who may want to also come inside!!

I hope you are all well...and enjoying the new month...

We had a lovely 4 days at the cottage...came home on Saturday...as my daughters and DIL were attending a bridal shower for my Niece in Collingwood, Ontario yesterday.

Miss V stayed with her Papa...Uncle Ryan and Uncle Jeff visited as well.

It was a lovely affair...on the most beautiful 100 acres I have ever seen!!

My other Niece raises Horses...and they greeted everything on the long drive into the beautiful home and gardens. She will be married in July...and it will be a splendid day...I am sure!!

I will gather my photos from the Lake...and get a post done.

Mostly Rain here the next few days...getting the laundry etc done.

Oh....I made my Niece 3 cotton dishcloths!!! Along with a gift certificate for The Bay wehre she is registered...and a favorite recipe. I forgot to take a picture of the crochet...they were really pretty...a rainbow of colours!!! I picked up 5 more balls...different colours, as they were on sale at Michaels!! I am working on a sweater right now...found the pattern on IG...it is called The Campfire Sweater...made from a few big Granny Squares...having a wee bit of trouble with the pattern....must write to the gal who made the pattern....nothing ever goes smoothly for me with patterns!!!! I am always better when I just wing it!

Well...I guess that is it for me for today...

Grabbed some spaghetti sauce out of the freezer...kinda lazy to go to the store...guess that will be on tomorrows agenda...

Enjoy the rest of your day....

Have a great evening....and a fabulous week....

                    Cheers!   :o)

  1. Peonies have always been one of my most favourite flowers -- although they attract ants like a sonovabitch.

  6. Love your peonies. We also have some lovely ones in our back yard gardens but I never bring them in because of the little creatures. And no pool to dunk them in! :) Wow, 100 acres, hope you'll post blog photos. My BF's sisters live in beautiful homes in Collingwood, one at Blue Mountain and one right on Georgian Bay. Have a good week...

  7. The peonies are gorgeous, Linda...I had them at the lakehouse until we had some outdoor renovations and the workers dug them up and tossed them. I was so angry. I always meant to plant more. So smart to rinse them off. The ants! I also dry them and they last for months.

The bridal shower sounds like it was a fun destination for you. We all need little change from the ordinary. I spent two whole weeks alone at the like...how peaceful it was! More crap when I came home Friday...you know the score. Going back Wednesday and don't need to come back until the 22nd when I have a dental appointment. Hubby will be up on weekends.

    I so appreciate our 'talks'.

  8. How wonderful to be able to grow peonies, and the white ones are so gorgeous. I like your tip of dunking in the pool - I have never thought of that, but it might come in handy here too with some flowers. More rain in Ontario! As if you have not had enough already. DD says her boys have had cabin fever being indoors so much lately.

  12. I love peonies. My grandmother had a lot of them in her garden. I always liked them except for those ants! She would never cut them and bring them inside because of that. I wish we had thought to dunk them in water. That's a good tip.

  14. Peonies are such a dramatic flower - love them.
Good luck with the pattern. I hated trying to figure out knitting patterns which, I guess, is one of the reasons I no longer knit!
