💕💖 Baby Shower!! 💖💕

You all said you wanted to see my crochet that I did for the Baby Shower for my DIL Anna...

2 Blankets and 3 toques of various sizes...

It was a book theme for the shower, so I tucked one of Miss V's favorites into my basket....along with a few more goodies!!

I thought the Rubber Ducky and Johnson's products would come in handy...

The cute little knitted Doll, I bought at a craft store in Pt Colborne the day before the shower...

And I found the sweet Holly Hobby plate at the thrifty shop, when we dropped off another box of donations...

I thought it was pretty darn cute!!

The shower was organized by Anna's Mom and sister...and let me tell you, they did a fabulous job!!

It was held in a small cottage...right on Lake Ontario in Bronte Ontario...

It is used as an art gallery most of the time...very quaint and cute and personal it was!!!

Her friend Debbie made the cake for the shower....it looked lovely!!

The Mom-to be Anna...with my daughter Lissa...

There were 3 tables set up for the luncheon...

Lucky Miss V had 2 friends that she had met at the wedding...

Daughters of high school friends of my sons...

There were given goody bags and crafts to do...kept them very busy!!

You can see on the table...

Books and diapers made to look like caterpillars!!!

So creative of Anna's Mom and sister...

It was a very windy dark day...and I had a heck of a time getting any good photos!!!

The above 2 of Auntie Lissa and Miss V came out not bad...

Anna giving us a great big smile...

Here Miss V ran over to help her Auntie Anna with my gift...

She wanted to tell her, that she had picked out the pink/blue yarn that I used for the Granny Square blanket...

She remembered!!!!

We bought that months ago!!!

I remember she said..."This wool will be good for a boy or a girl"...💕💓💕

Out of the mouths of Babes, eh??

Hope you are all well, and enjoying the beautiful Fall colours....

We made it to the cottage last Friday, but no sleepover...too cold!!

We will make another trip this Friday...but Friday promises to be a very nasty day indeed....

They are saying the temps will plummet...and perhaps even some SNOW!!!!

Not ready for that yet.....

On our drive last week, I captured some beautiful countryside views...

I will share them next!!

           Take care....see you all soon...

                   Cheers!  :o)

  5. Oh...where do I begin, Linda? The blanket, which I saw on IG is, absolutely gorgeous. Toques, an unknown word for me, French, of course. I would say knitted cap. ;-) Your collection will be much appreciated. It's very popular here to gift a book rather than card, a great way to build a little library for the baby. Adding a book in your basket is terrific.

The shower was lovely. That cake!!! Love that Miss V was having a splendid time. Anna is a cute girl, and Lissa is a replica of you!

Ahhhh...we have the same weather predicted. How can that be from miles apart? Single digits tomorrow. I have one venture outdoors, and then I have tamales to make and an article due by midnight. Life is full, but I certainly plan to send you an email. You are a wonderful friend.

  7. Thank you for sharing the loveliest baby shower Linda. So enjoyable to see your beautiful crotchet and what mother would not love to receive your gift basket. You have such an artistic touch, and I love the duck and the plate. Miss V looks so grown up there with her Aunt Lissa. All the best to the mother-to-be.

  8. Such a beautiful occasion! And, that was a basket FULL of LOVE! I have to admit, I got a little excited when I saw the knitted doll thinking you had started knitting, too. LOL! Don't we all want others to join us in one more of our addictions? I think Miss V is a yarn lover in the making as well. ;)

Soon another little love. And, your heart will grow in love again... The most wonderful thing. blessings ~ tanna

  10. What an exciting time to be welcoming a new grandchild. I love the blankets that you have crocheted, did you follow a pattern I am enjoying my new found skill of crochet but I don't seem to be able to get beyond a small granny squares. would you mind sharing with me how you made the blankets. I would love to make one full size baby blanket I think the stitch you used was a half treble am I right. Thanks for sharing your lovely projects. Barb

    1. HI Barbara...
With the granny square...I just keep getting bigger...until it is the size you want...then I add a border...can be any stitch...
The other blanket is a series of SC rows...HDC rows...
3 rows SC...1 row HDC...1 row HDC skip a stitch ch1...then another row of HDC...gives it a lacey look...
      Again, repeat until big enough...
You should look on-line for stitches...everything is there...easy peasey!!
      Have a great weekend...

  17. Wow, everything makes me smile in this blog. Love, love your crafty gift basket, you are so creative and talented. And the art gallery was such a great venue for the shower. Hope you're not freezing at the cottage. I did my bi-weekly visit to Uxbridge yesterday, lots of snow on my daughter's lawn, yikes, not ready for that. Take care...
