Perfectly Pink Tulips.....

 What is it about Tulips????

Especially Pale Pink Tulips...

These joined me over a week ago....

And they still look perfect...

I love when they splay out....almost like they are bending to the light....

Did you know that Tulips continue to grow....even after they are cut....

They say if you put a copper penny in the bottom of the vase....

It will keep them from drooping....

I have done this....sometimes it works....

Sometimes it doesn't....

Do you buy yourself Flowers?

I try to keep fresh flowers in the house at all times...

Just kinda makes you feel good...

You know???

Enjoy.......

Kinda of a drab day here...

Had some rain earlier...

Still on the warmish side...

But, that is all going to change...

Got some groceries in...

 Beef Stew in the Crock-Pot...

Bit of laundry going on....

Ran into a nice friend at the grocery store, and talked way too long...:o)

On the menu tonight....

Baked Maple Syrup Salmon filet...

Yukon Gold mashed taters...

Fresh Asparagus with Parmesan Cheese.....

   Hope you all had a Perfectly Pink Day....

         Vivian will be here shortly for a visit...can't wait!!!

      Enjoy your evening....

                Cheers!   :o)

Spring Floral Arrangement...

A couple of weeks ago...

I brought these Tulips home from my garden at the cottage...

My daughter had given me these 4 HUGE cut Hydrangeas a few days before...

The Hydrangeas were a Pink/Green combo...

When I brought the Tulips home...

I thought this arrangement was rather pretty...

And showcased both the Tulips and the Hydrangeas...

I just tossed the Tulips today...

The Hydrangeas are now dry...

And still on my hall table...

To welcome everyone...

Enjoy....

I took some pictures this last weekend, of the latest crop of Tulips...

And I must say.......they were spectacular!!!!

Hope you all had a great day....
Hardly any rain today....but boy that thunder last night was AWESOME!!!!

My thoughts go out to the people in Oklahoma...
Thankfully my bloggy pal Tammy is AOK....
Mother Nature can be very cruel sometimes....

On the menu tonight...

        Baked Filet of Sole....Long Grain & Wild Rice....Asparagus with Parmesan..

                 Could you not just eat ASPARAGUS EVERY DARN NIGHT!!!

 Getting pretty dark and thundery out there....

              Keep safe...

                                 Cheers!  :o)

Tulip Time......

Hope you are all well, and enjoyed the long weekend here in Canada!!

We spent 5 days at the cottage...got a lot done...enjoyed the time down there!!

The weather was up and down...humid on the Wednesday and Thursday...and

of course... W I N D Y!!...sorry about that!! But...seriously...this is one of

the windiest Springs I can remember...

The good thing with all the rain...the TULIPS at the cottage have been

SPECTACULAR....

We have owned the cottage for 21 years...I have not planted 1 single tulip...

The original owners planted all the Tulips...all I have done, is move them

around , as I have dug the garden beds. There was only the rock garden when

we purchased it...no other beds at all...SO...the daffodils and tulips have

Been on the move ever since. All of the other perennials have been planted by

MOI...lots of sweaty hard work digging out there, I'll tell 'ya!! Plenty of tree

roots to contend with. So...I guess you have a whole new appreciation for my

cottage gardens, eh??? All dug my me! hahaha!!

Anyway...enough about ME...back to the Tulips!!

I had to cut a few for my kitchen window/shelf overlooking the Sunporch.

We finally got all those shutters down, and I scrubbed everything in there.

Doesn't it always feel so good, when you get everything spruced up for

another season???

Miss V and her Mom...and my son and his wife came out on the Saturday...

My other daughter and SIL had a very sick Kitty, and could not make it out...:o(

All in all a good few days...got to the nursery...got my veggies planted...

My baskets will be done this weekend...

                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope that you are all well...and enjoying the garden...
I am so pleased...I got to fitness again this am...and a nice coffee chit chat
afterwards...
We had delicious baked cod...wild rice...asparagus...and sauteed veggies...
We have a Neice's wedding in July...and I really must lose at LEAST 5lbs!!!!
I should be able to do it....right????
        Enjoy your evening...
              Cheers!  :o)
Just because...It's Good Friday..
Just looking through my photos from the last couple of days...and decided that these shots MUST be shared with my bloggy friends.
Who doesn't drool at the sight of such beautiful flowers? I am a sucker for the whole thing.
Among a LOT of other things!!!  :o)
These Tulips really were a fabulous surprise, when they opened up and had all that sumptuous yellow and orange striping....also take note of the variegated leaves....truly a work of art...
Hasn't this SPRING just been so glorious, so far this year....who could ask for anything better...
Heading to the Cottage for a few days...anxious to see if there has been any rain down there...will be back with lots of pictures to share...You can BET on that!!!!
never too many pictures...  :o)
I thought that these White tulips really looked fantastic in my living room...all white, with little hits of green....if you look closely, the tips of the tulips actually have a hint of mauve...all of the other plants echo the green..with hints of dark from the side tables...I find this room very Soothing....I love to sit in here with a cup of tea, and just take everything in..aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh
As I have shown in previous posts, my Christmas Cactus have really outdone themselves this past Fall and Winter... this is the HOT  coral one....fabulous...this shot is probably the last of them for this season...who knows...maybe more blooms in the summer...I will definitely keep you posted...tee hee hee
Are there any words that I have not  used to show my love for the dear little African Violet....ever blooming....fragile....dainty....lovely....fluffy...delicate....furry....   :o)
Love the variation in the flower...the tips with their pale purple...soft white...and the big finale in the purple center...with the soft yellow stamen.... :o)
And another of my favorites...is having a nice, HOT cup of tea with a friend....sharing stories...over a warm bowl of homemade Apple Crisp and vanilla yogurt....yummy...
Just between you and me....I also drizzled some maple syrup over the crisp.....MY secret ingredient....what DOESN'T taste better with maple syrup????
Hope you have some nice friends to have tea with...
I do.........and I am grateful for that......
Cheers!                    :o)
A Little Easter....Spring Decor.......
Did a little bit of Easter/Springtime decorating yesterday...
It was a lovely day...so I got outside for a while...
Swept...
Raked...
Cleaned the back windows!!
And clipped some pussywillows from my tree...
Also a trip to the Greenhosue, to pick up a few Pansies...
Nothing says Spring like Pansies...
I had purchased a very large white glass measuring cup, the week before...for $1 at the Thrift shop...
My boyfriend questioned what I would ever do with that!!
Well...
Look what I did!!
I think it is perfect for this!
I had bought the pretty grass for Miss V's Basket...
Had all the eggs and chickies from previous years...
Added some fresh cut Pussy Willows....and....VOILA!!
 My foyer got a few pussy willows and tulips in my favorite bunny vase...
Living room got Tulips with my birdie in rubber boots and macintosh coat!!
Side table in Dining room got a few eggs...
And Miss V's favorite wind-up chickies!!
Hope you all had a great day...
Weather seems to be going downhill...
We had a high of 16*c...
But rain moving in...and those blustery winds are back!!
We took a spin to the cottage...
Still cold and lots of snow left...
Doesn't look good for a weekend sleepover..:o(
Hope you all have a lovely Easter weekend...
Don't eat too many chocolates! hahaha!
Sneak peek at my crochet...phew!! Finally finished this morning...
Why oh why do I get myself into these things...oh  yes....I remember...
For the love of Miss V ♥️....Nothing better!!
             Cheers my friends  :o)
