The Flower Lady Was Here....♥️

The Flower Lady...{aka Erika} was here last week...

She brought me the biggest bouquet of flowers ever...

Truly a Cornucopia of different types... 

And colours...

And they...

Still...

Look...

Beautiful...

I fed the cats...and browsed IKEA...that can either be fabulous...

Or...

Very frustrating...

I found it to be a bit of both!!

Anyway...I am well stocked up on candles and such...

And I bought a new shelving thingy for the kitchen at the cottage...

We will see how that goes....assembly I mean...hahaha!!

After my trip out, I decided it was such a beautiful day...that...

I did quite a bit of raking here at home...

Tossed out scuzzy old garden ornaments...bird feeders...cracked pots...

A good job all around...

Peonies are poking thru...day lilies...crocus...daffodils look ready to burst...

Perhaps a garden tour will be soon...

Gonna have my favorite dinner...

Burgers and fries...perhaps the boyfriend will BBQ the burgers for me...

Another Thanksgiving For The Archives.....

 Table set the day before...

I always like to do that...

Gives me time to switch things up...

If I am not happy with the way it looks...

Had wanted Orange flowers...

But...was not to be!

Menu:

Roast Turkey

Mashed parsnips and potatoes with goats cheese

Brocolli...Carrots

Root vegetable roast
  yams
  pink turnips
  small round potatoes
  brussel sprouts

  gluten free gravy
  stuffing 

  gluten free apple pie
  slicecream

 Went with very simple decor...

A few white pumpkins...

My giant Acorn from last year...

And..

Of course...

My wee birds♥️

 My 3 BIG kids had a ball on our bed with Miss V!!!

Playing "Night Night"...so cute! 

 

I was told to serve myself first...

so I did.....

But was quickly joined by the others! 

 

 

 We ate early this year...so it was still light! Nice for a change! All ready for dessert!

And the next morning...

All the clean dishes put away...

Placemats and napkins in the wash...

Fall table all set for a few more weeks!!

This week is shaping up to be pretty busy already!

And the weather....YIKES!...kinda humid...dull...spitting rain...and rain tomorrow too!!

Thought I would get out in the garden today...

Opted for some indoor chores instead...

Turkey soup is bubbling away on the stove...smells heavenly!!

Think we'll have some spaghetti tonight...took some sauce out of the freezer...

Caesar Salad along with that...sounds good!!!

This Mornings Peonies.....

Good evening all....

We are without power, after a strong thunderstorm went thru.....

Horrific weather all over Ontario and parts of the US....

So....I am on my trusty IPad....don't want to disappoint!

Will publish as soon as the power resumes.....

I took these photos this morning....

With the sun streaming into my living room....

These Peonies awaited me on my return from the cottage....

I think they are magnificent....

I also have a bouquet in my bedroom....the scent is intoxicating. ♥️

     

 I hope you are safe from this storm....plenty of tornadoes further north....

What a crazy Spring so far...temps in the 30's c today...sweltering....not complaining!

Last Weeks Cottage Visit.....

It seems like FOREVER...

Since we were at the cottage...

And it isn't even Halloween yet!

We actually spent Halloween there one year...

Sat outside...

Handed out some candy to a few local kids...

But...

Last year...

We weren't there...

And we got soaped!!!

BOY...

Did we get soaped...{that post was on Nov 5/12...must learn to cut and paste!!!}

Anyway...here are a few shots from last Saturday...

A wet...damp...dark...rainy day at the Lake...

But...guess what....I wouldn't want to be anyplace else...

But...

Not sure that is going to happen this Fall...

Thank goodness we got that beautiful Thanksgiving weekend in...

We had Miss V as she was running a low fever, and daycare won't take them, if they have a fever...

My day started early with her...

She napped around 9:45...

So I jumped in the shower...

She didn't eat much lunch...kinda under the weather...

We had to see our Dr, as my boyfriend has not been able to shake what ever he has had for about 5 weeks now...

Back on anti-biotics...and a strong cough medicine...

I hope he gets better soon....♥






Noting much on the menu tonight...

Perhaps some chicken soup that I made...or leftover Pot Roast...

Which is kind of like stew, I guess...

Another windy, chilly one today...all my plants are in the garage...

or.....in the dining room! hahaha!

Will have to find some spots for them....SOON!!!

Feast Your Eyes On These Beauties!!!

Every Fall...

I visit a small office complex...

And "Borrow"...

A "Few" Hydrangea blooms...

From their surrounding gardens...

I made my annual trek...

About 2 weeks ago...

They are so beautiful...

I used one of my pics...

For my new header...

I cut enough...

For a lot of decorating...

I fill with water for a couple of weeks...

And then I just let them air-dry..

Still in their receptacles...

This year...

I got them when there were still some Pink ones...

Mixed amongst the green ones...

LOVE THESE!!!

 

I do believe I see another header or 2 in there!!!

I have some chicken marinating in buttermilk...and I have everything ready to slap another blueberry-buttermilk breakfast cake into the oven...
