Last Friday's Cottage Visit......

For any of you who have been reading my blog for any length of time...
Know...
And understand...
How much this place means to me and my family...
It is such a feeling when you pull in...
Sometimes I totally get overcome by the feelings...
When you step out of the car...
You never know what sights will greet you...
As long as we take drives down there...
I will share the beauty with you...
Whether you like it or not! hahaha!
Come and join me for this particular visit...
There was a hazy sun...trying so hard to shine... 
Not too cold...not much wind...
It actually felt colder INSIDE than outside!
So glad we got the water closed when we did...
Frozen plumbing is not funny.....AT ALL!
There is still no snow...
Just a wee bit of ice on the rocks on the beach... 
Beautiful!

Love that little sliver of pink sky in the West...
It certainly must have been snowing across the Lake...
Very dark clouds over there...

Here is me...
Sporting my nice long scarf I made myself last year...
I love wearing scarves...
When we drive...I don't wear a coat...
I have several big chunky sweaters that I wear...
Paired usually with leggings...
But this day had me in black jeans...black chunky turtleneck...black strappy shoes...striped socks..(of course)...
Velvety  leopard gloves...
And...my big cream crocheted scarf...
How is that for a look???
Just kidding...I do know of a blog, where the gal always feature her thrifty buys and models them...
These are not thrifty buys...but...we did score a few cool things...working on that post...have not done one of those for a while...

That Friday night...we decided to make our own Pizzas!!
I sauteed some mushrooms, red peppers and onions...
Mine consists of sliced tomato...sauteed veggies...olives and goats cheese...
Boyfriend made 2!! 
One with smoked salmon...olives...veggies...
The other with some left over Ham cubes...
Both got sprinkled with Parmesan cheese....
And some slivered fresh Basil...
Cooked them on our Pizza stone...

                                           YUMMY!!

Very cold here...but mostly a sunny day... 
We got out for a very brisk walk...
I will leave you with a picture from last January 2015..at the cottage...
A bit more snow...and the beach was covered in ice...lake frozen...

Quite a difference, eh??
I guess this is coming...sooner or later!

Saturday thru Sunday.....

By Saturday afternoon...

The sun was shining...

The wind shifted to the NE...

The ice flows started to melt...

It was a gorgeous day...

Made chili...

Sat and watched the world go by!! 

By Sunday...all the ice flows were gone...bright blue skies...fabulous!

When we left the cottage at 3pm, it was 17*c...

As we got closer to home...

The temps dropped to 8*c...quite chilly and windy at home...

My boyfriend was quite the beach glass collector this weekend...

All 5 pieces!!!

When he moved that huge staircase off the beach...

Good job!!

And the Swallows have returned...

Checking out a few of my birdhouses...

Not sure if we will put the Purple Martin House up this year...

Residency has been on the decline...and a lot of work to install...

We will see...

My boyfriend took this shot of me...

I was a happy camper...

Sitting on the beach deck...

Doesn't get much better...

Oh..except...it could get a wee bit warmer! Hahahaha!

I was going to go out...but right now it is pouring rain and gusting very high winds...

Think I'll stay toasty and warm inside...

Curl up with some crochet...and a cup of tea..

I have 2 birthdays coming up...daughter and son...

Some of you might remember the longest afghan in the world???

Well...my son really likes it...they are his living room colours...so...I am going to get busy with that, and bring it to an end...and give it to him! I have already made his cat...Buddy...a cat bed, from the same colours...so, that will make a great gift for the man who has everything !

How does that sound for dinner...on this cold damp windy rainy day in April!!

His & Her Brunch....On A Rainy Saturday....

His....scrambled eggs...ham...turkey bacon....fresh strawberries

Coffee and OJ....served on a toasted skinny bagel....

The hi lite of this rainy Saturday.....

The Hibiscus continues to please....

Even with the wee bug....

Covered in rain drops...

Not sea fog!

Hopefully we have seen the backside of that!

Friday evening....we sat out....and froze!

Good thing I brought sweats and plenty of sweaters!

It threatened to clear....but did not!

Today....

They braved the rain....

Even...

Played in the rain...

And....by gosh....at 6:15... Things looked up...

For tomorrow....

We hope!

We are promised high 70's....

For the entire week...

Dinner almost ready....

Crispy buttermilk soaked chicken drums....

Sweet potato fries....made fresh....

Perhaps a few swallows of Merlot...

Looking forward to the week ahead....

Hopefully I will have more uplifting posts for you all....♥️

Dull.....Damp.....Drab....Brrr.....

After reviewing the photos from our Friday visit to the cottage...

I thought...

Geesh...

These are pretty darn depressing...

Should I even bother posting them??

I figure...

You gotta take the bad with the good...

We were just so darn thrilled that there was no damage from those hideous 100 km winds that week...

Thank goodness!
