It Was A Very Nice Week...Hope Yours Was Too!!

 This past weekend at the cottage was stellar...

Calm water...plenty of sunshine...and of course storm clouds that just drift down to the US on the south side of the lake...

The Hollyhocks are incredible this time of year...I think they like the cooler temps...and the bees were plentiful...thank goodness for that!!!

I hope my Obedient Plants are blooming this weekend...the Hummingbirds and the Bees love them!!

The Canada Geese are planning their strategies over the Lake...

They gather in huge numbers...and practise their flight path!!!

We love when they fly right overhead....honking and flapping...

Nothing like it!!

Even the Sea-doo doesn't phase them...

The Monarchs are still loving the Milkweed plants...

We are lucky enough to be on their migration path down at the cottage...

I laid out 3 more driftwood hangers, and got them put together... 

I have another basket collected for my boyfriend to drill for me...

Wish I could convince him to try drilling the beach glass we find...would love to make something with them!!

 

We eat pretty darn well when we are at the cottage too!!

This was chicken Ceasar salad...with added corn from the night before...

It was delicious!!!

And...breakfast on the sunporch is the best!!

 

Back here at home...the burgers were excellent...and more corn!!!

The Grasses are putting out their Fall plumes...

And the best little swimmer came for a sleepover...and swam ALL DAY LONG!!

Bits & Bobs....and the Orange Moon♥️

I built a Lake Erie Inukshuk on the beach...

Had a very busy weekend...

this post will be a few pics taken over the last week or so...

still very hot and humid here...

kind of overcast today...

big rain coming in for tomorrow...

don't Hollyhocks just make you smile....:o)

another small crop of tomatoes...this bunch I added to diced potatoes,onions,peppers and mushrooms...in olive oil in the oven...delish!

double daylily...only had about 6 bloom this year...usually have dozens...?

Brusells....getting taller!

lovely and calm last weekend...actually had a sandy beach...

shed at the end of the day...with my gorgeous Hydrangea bush...

      This was the moon on Friday night at the cottage...

              We were lucky enough to enjoy a firepit after dinner...

                      And get absorbed by the MOON.....

                                Isn't that just GLORIOUS??

           I had a busy one...for sure...

             Washed the slipcovers for the couch...went shopping with my boyfriend...

              Got some lovely fresh Cod for dinner....garden fresh  yellow beans...

                 Cod is soaking in...you guessed it...buttermilk!!

                   We also scored some new seat cushions for our Muskoka chairs at the cottage...

                        6 brand spankin' new ones for next year...waterproof fabric!!

                           Very excited about that!!

                              Also got the boyfriend a new leather recliner for the family room...

                                Very luxurious...creamy leather...nice!!

Cottage Green......

            It was supposed to be a rainy day here...

              But it wasn't...it was gorgeous!

                Lots of outdoor work done today...plus laundry...plus a favorite...

                  Blueberry Buttermilk Breakfast cake...

                     Hungry???   Nothing better with a nice hot cup of tea ♥️


          On the menu tonight...

                Fresh burger patties...barbequed...minus the buns...

                  Suuteed mushrooms, onions, and yellow peppers...

                     Greek salad made with the juiciest grape tomatoes EVER!

                     It must be Cantaloupe season somewhere...
                       We ate a 1/2 today........very drippy ripe.....Perfect!!
