The drive to the cottage last Thursday, proved to be a cloudy one!!!
Drove thru downpours...
Sunshine...
And when we reached the cottage...
This beautiful sight!!
The day went from bad to worse...to beautiful again!!
We were able to sit on the sunporch, and watch the most incredible lightning across the lake!!
Early Friday afternoon, we decided to take a run into town...
More fabulous clouds on the way...and some rainfall...
By the time we got back, the skies were clearing up a bit...
And we were able to enjoy a wee bit of late day sunshine...
But...
The BEST was yet to come!!!
This was Saturday morning...
G O R G E O U S !!!!!
To celebrate our anniversary!!!
It was a fabulous day, indeed!!
And the S U N S E T !!!!!
We got the firepit loaded up...and enjoyed the evening...with this fabulous view!!
What could be better???
This was the lake on Sunday afternoon, when we were leaving to come home...
But...
Never fear...
Thursday is right around the corner...and we will be back in P A R A D I S E !!!

We are a bit concerned about our cottage rental in Florida...
We have been unable to find out if it is still standing!!!
I had emailed the owner on Friday...she lives in Tampa, not at the cottage...and she said she was evacuating her townhouse...but the cottage is right on the beach in the Gulf...so...not sure how it faired IRMA....
I cannot even imagine what those people are going thru down there...
I do not think I would be very good in this type of situation...
Scares the hell out of me!!!
Anyway....sending good wishes to all affected...chin up...and all that...♥️

Geesh...why do I get my self into these things!!
Hard enough to remember what I had for breakfast...let alone a week ago!
Hahaha!!
Here we go...lets do this!!
So...this is Thursday...the first day of Fall...the sun greeted us with her smiling face, so we decided it was time to put a fresh coat of stain on the upper railing, above the sunporch...this is our guest room, and actually has a glass door out to the wee balcony...not my favorite spot...the railing {which we had replaced a few years ago}...is very short...so you feel kinda like a giant looking down...not a fan of heights...but...the job needed to be done...and...after all....we are a team...right?
You can see what a big difference it made...especially on the top rail...didn't take us long to apply 2 coats...and admire our handywork!!
After lunch, I made a couple of floral arrangements...
Imagine using Ferns on the First Day of Fall...
Also added a few pieces of Oat Grass, love the texture it creates...
Hydrangeas still beautiful, and a few Sedum stems...
Same idea for the Sunporch...
Just makes things nicer, eh??
Friday was the dull day...we took off for town...did some thrifty shopping...Of course I got a few things!!
We went for a walk in the afternoon...the seagulls and cormorants were going crazy!!!! Not sure if there was a school of fish or what...but...I captured them along the beach from us...making quit a racket!!
I went down onto the beach, to get the photos...boyfriend stayed up on the road...waiting patiently for me, while I looked for beach glass too!!
See him there???
Don't you just love the "body language"...come on...hurry up....what are you looking for down there??? You are not supposed to be down there....it says "Private "Property"....
Such a worry wart...
hahahaha!!
This is how Friday ended...gloomy all day...at least we ate on the sunporch, as it wasn't that cold...
Now....
Saturday was another story....
Glorious Sunshine all day...
I got a big garden cleaned out...
Boyfriend got the loungers painted with rust paint...they looked fabulous!!
After dinner...we enjoyed a firepit on the beach deck...first of the Season...hopefully many more to come!!
Sunday was more of the same...
We left in the afternoon, as we were supposed to take Erika and Miss V out for dinner, for Erika's bday...didn't happen...but they did come for a visit...

I also saw my favorite polka dot horse on the way home...
A few of you had thought she might be pregnant last time I showed her...
how long do horses carry? I admit, I know nothing about this...she still looks the same to me...and I think it was June that I posted her first picture...hmmmm?

Not as much rain at the cottage...but kinda dreary and cool this past weekend..
Good for the trees and shrubs going into the cooler months...
Tonight will be a Ham and Scalloped potatoes...and fresh Yellow beans...
Lovely comforting meal...
Very busy with my crochet...already ripped the sweater out once!! Geesh...
Can hardly believe that this weekend is our Thanksgiving already...
Not ready for this yet!!
Guess I will be hosting...even if only a few of us will actually be eating Turkey!

A wee bit late...but...here I am!
Last weekend was so gorgeous at the cottage...
Even my pictures don't do it justice!
No wind...calm waters...beautiful sunshine...loved it!
Not much happening in the gardens...
But...my one little favorite Tulip has bloomed...and spread...
3 blooms this year!! Fantastic!
Lots of Scillia in bloom and the Pachysandra is putting out her blooms!!
Such a pretty flower it is too!!
Got a few birdhouses up..hopefully a few occupants soon...
My daughter and SIL gave me the Swallow house for Christmas...
Perhaps a few will be flying around this weekend...
We had a bonfire to burn everything that we had cut and raked...
There is my Boyfriend waiting for me down on the beachdeck...
To go out to dinner...
Sitting in the beautiful late afternoon sunshine..
We went to the local Fish restaurant...I am very lucky!!
When we returned...there was still plenty of Sunshine...
So we had a fire in the firepit,
Under the moon...♥️

This week, I was having my Farmhouse sink in the kitchen refinished...
And...my claw foot tub in the bathroom done as well...
Can hardly wait to see them!!! I took a few before pics before we left last Sunday...

Had a ball with Miss V yesterday...♥️...we baked 4 loaves!!
We made Banana Vanilla Blueberry and an Apple Spice loaf...
They smelled fabulous!!
Her seedlings are still going strong...will show again in a few weeks...

We will be off to the cottage Friday morning...
I have a big pot of Chili on the stove...ready to take...
Supposed to be a bit wet on Friday...but sunshine on Saturday...
More raking to do...as Monique says...even though we rake in the Fall...
The leaves are all back in the Spring!!

And....of course...some sliced tomatoes!!!
