Spring Has Sprung!!

We have been having topsy-turvy weather here in Southern Ontario...

Miss Spring is trying her hardest to appear...but...

Mr Winter keeps getting in her way!!

Needless to say...lots of time spent inside!!!

What do you think of these crocheted Pansies that I made??

Pretty cute,eh??   Very fiddly pattern...but I persevered!!!

Miss V had a sleepover with us...and I put her to work on a few crafts...

(Looks like she is wearing her painting shirt!!!)

This wee birdhouse will be a bday gift for her Auntie Lissa...💙💚💛💜

It turned out spectacular...will show you in another post!!

We spent Earth Hour with Miss V...and woke to this dump of snow!!!!!

Needless to say...the Birds were just as surprised as we were!!!

The cottage is still looking like The Arctic!!!!

Not sure why there is still so much Lake Ice... odd for this time of year...

Will be awhile before our first sleepover! hahaha!!!

At least the Daffodils heard it was Spring...(Don't look at all the leaves...raking!!!)

Hope you are all well...and enjoying Spring Like temps where you live...

My boyfriend has gone to the cottage this am, to meet up with Andrew, to re-install our TV antennae, which blew down this winter!!!
Lake Erie had extremely high winds in February...100kms/hr!!!!
The Maple tree that was to be cut down, is still standing...the guy never showed up end of November to cut it down...can't get good help these days,eh!!!
Not sure if we will leave it for another Summer...I don't really want them in there clomping on all my spring plants with their big feet!!!! Sometimes I am amazed at how some people treat gardens...just clomping in and around...one of my very BIG pet peeves!!!! We had a new fence here at home last Fall...and the guys were terrible with my plants...I will wait and see what does or doesn't come up!!! How can people in the landscape business be so uncaring when it comes to peoples gardens????????
Ok...rant over...hahaha!!

                                       ****************

I will leave you with a pic of what is on my kitchen table right now....
Still trying to sort out an Easter crochet for my 2 wee gals...
Started a Star shaped pillow...scrapped that after the points didn't line up!

                Taking it easy today...windy...rainy...damp...dark...

How about Meat Loaf and Mashed Taters for dinner!!!

                           See you soon...

                                  Cheers! :o)

Time With Miss V.....💚

Last Friday was a PD day for Miss V...which is great with us!! We got to have her for the whole day...a sleepover and a trip to the cottage on Saturday!!

After her bike ride with her Papa, she got busy on raking up the few leaves that were left here at home...

After that...the baking began...

We made a loaf and 6 cupcakes...she allotted one raspberry and 2 chocolate chops to each cupcake!

After lunch, she iced one cupcake and added some sprinkles!!

After that, she put together a craft I had picked up for her at Michael's....a Snowman door hanger...she was very quick at making this!!

We were at the $ store, and then at the mall...Santa's Village was all set up, but no Santa yet...she also wanted to ride the escalator with me...

Friday night we had a fire, and watched a few Christmas shows...

In the morning, we got ready, and headed out to the cottage to meet Uncle Ryan, and put up the last porch shutter...the weather was 10c, but very dark and damp...the beach was quite eroded, from the brisk winds last week...Miss V tried to make a sand castle, but the sand was full of pebbles and kinda soggy!!
She does love the beach though!!

As you can see above, all of the Maple leaves are down...looks pretty bare, eh??

But...the Birch I planted at the road side, is still looking pretty fine with her yellow leaves hanging on...

I was lucky enough to find 2 treasures on the beach that day...

A very large piece of blue beach glass...

And a heart shaped stone...

The Milkweed on the beach, was putting on a great show...

Tiny rain droplets on the silk...

Love finding these to photograph...

For some reason, I did not have as many volunteers on the beach this year...

The sun tried to come out...but only peeked thru the thick clouds...

We were hardly out of the driveway, when I looked back at Miss V...💓

She was out like a light for about 45 minutes...With her gloves and toasty vest on...such a sweetie...love when they get all tired out from running around and having fun...

We delivered her home safely to her Mommy...they were happy to see each other 💘

Hope you are all well...enjoying the last of Fall...and to my American friends, hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend...I am sure you are all decorating for Christmas now!! I must get started myself...think I will start with my staircase...that always gets me in the spirit...

I have not done any shopping...just been crocheting a few things for the kids...

Lots of time....right??? hahaha!!

Enjoy the rest of your week...

                 Cheers!   :o)

Crafts With Nana...♥️♥️♥️

Miss V arrived early this am...around 7:45am...
We were ready for her!!
After Papa and I were both showered and dressed...
We got busy!!!
Papa had to go out for a while...
So Miss V and I took this opportunity...
To work on a few Valentines cards ♥️
She made one for each of her special people in her life...
Especially her little friend Sammy...Her Moms friends son...
He is a wee bit younger than her...but she loves whenever they get together..

After we were done...
I packed up her "Craft Basket"...
Found a great use for this basket I bought at a thrift shop last year....
Everything neat and tidy...

The crafting was done by 11:30 am...
Time for lunch...

The day got better and better...
Our temps climbed all the way to 15C...a new record for this day in February...

Flowers for today...are this incredibly beautiful White Geranium...
It grew in my tree basket...and was simply exquisite...
enjoy!

Stay tuned for part 2 of our day with Miss V...
To be continued...........

Miss V and her Mom stayed for dinner...
We had baked Haddock...brussell sprouts, bok choy, fries and a Greek Salad...
Everyone cleaned up their plates!

Hope you all had a great day...

                     Cheers!   :o)

Last Week With Miss V.....♥️

When Miss V visited last Thursday...

We decided it was craft day...

But first...she asked if she could wear the new dress Papa and I had brought her from Florida...

I said "absolutely!! your Minnie Mouse dress is perfect for doing crafts"

Up we went to put it on...

Then....we got started...

First the Easter window clings...she loves putting these up!

Then...

I told her we were going to make Easter cards...

For her Mommy and her Aunts and Uncles!!

This was welcomed very happily!

Lots of pretty Easterey stickers...

Crayons...

Sparkly stickers...

Worked away like a little artist!!

Can you see her Minnie Mouse dress?? and her Dora band-aid!!

She showed me how her Mom had polished her nails for her!!

Said she wanted to do her toes like Nana...hahaha!!

I said in the summer we will see about that!!

All done!!

Don't they look great!!

Now...

On with one of the new cowls I made her while away...

Looks so cute ♥️

Off for a walk with her Papa...

Up to the park...

Climb...

Slide...

Before lunch...

And a nice long nap....

After her nap...

A nice crispy crunchy apple fits the bill...

Along with her many necklaces!!

And a play with her house and people...

Had a great day...

SO glad to be back with her again...

Here she is with her Auntie Lissa...

The day they all came over...

She looked spectacular in her Minnie Mouse dress!

Hey...

What do you buy a 2 1/2 old???

Why...a Minnie Mouse dress of course!!!

Hope you all had a great weekend, and are enjoying your Monday...

Busy today...still clearing out the cobwebs...cant believe we have already been home for 10 days...

I have a peameal bacon roast for the oven...

Accompanied by some scallopped potatoes, broccolli, and some brussells!

Have a coffee cake in the oven...

Will have a piece of that around 3pm...yummy!!

Enjoy the rest of your day...

                          Cheers!  :o)
