Halfway Thru November....Already!! How About Some Fall Colours!!

I can hardly believe how fast time is flying by!!!

Seems like we went from a very hot humid Summer...right into Winter!!

October and November have been chilly...wet and dark...

Had our first real Snowfall last Thursday...and has been very cold ever since!

Let's enjoy some of the Fall colour that I have captured at the cottage...and our drives to and from...

The sweet Bird pics are here at home... 

I finally got a few Succulent planters done...

I used one big pot, that was quite overgrown, and made a few smaller ones!!

I gave my 3 kids each one...of the smaller ones...fingers crossed they grow!

My friend Jane,(Blondies Journal) has been asking for inside pics of the cottage...

This is the biggest room...where we eat...in the inclimate weather...and have our fires...there is another small room with our TV...

The chairs are vintage...thrifty buys...mixed with a new Ikea couch...and lots of tables that the original owners left...all from the 30's and 40's...

A very eclectic mix of furniture! hahaha!!!  But very cosy!!

There are 3 bedrooms upstairs...and a very tight kitchen and bath on the main floor!!!

I will search for pics of these rooms, for a later date!!

Just Me...My Camera...And A Beautiful Drive At The Cottage....

We arrived at the cottage early Thursday afternoon...

After a bowl of my chicken soup...I decided to run into town...and pick up a few things I had forgotten.

Boyfriend was going to cut the grass...so off I went!! 

It was glorious warm sunny weather...such an incredible Fall we are having!!

Because I was driving...

I could stop...A N Y T I M E  I wanted to take pictures.... 

It was fantastic!!! 

After getting the green barn with the corn so high...it just got better!!

First pit stop...

The Shetland Ponies that we see every week...

They were right up against the fence near the road...and I couldn't have been happier!!

Aren't they just so beautiful!!!

The one came right up to the fence to say hello to me...

What a gorgeous face....

On my way back from town...

I went down this laneway, that we had used before.

Lucky I had the 4x4...kinda lumpy!!!

But beautiful views...and a fantastic old barn...can't get enough of these barns!!

The Winter shutters are up at the cottage, as much cooler temps are here as of right now!! Raining right now...not such a nice week ahead...

The kids were all out to the cottage...the guys to help with the shutters...and us gals to just sit around and look beautiful...hahaha!

More Bits & Bobs......

Hi everyone...back with more bits & bobs...

These pics are from the last few weeks...

Hope you are all well...and...enjoying this glorious weather!!

We are off to the cottage in the morning...

Kids are all coming out on Saturday...the boys will help my boyfriend put up the sunporch winter shutters...

Usually once that is done...closing is not far behind...

We draw our water from the lake...so as long as the temps are high, we are good!

Lake Erie is still very warm...way above seasonal...so it keeps the cottage warm too!!

We haven't even done any raking down there yet!! Boyfriend just runs over the leaves with the lawnmower, and mulches them up...I sweep certain areas...like the beach deck above...but still pretty green when we were down there on Tuesday of this week...

My entire yard...back and front...here at home...is YELLOW!!!

I did get a few pics this afternoon...will share them soon...okay Laurie??? tee hee hee

It is just lovely to look out, and see all that YELLOW!!!

OK..that is it for me...gonna get back to my crochet...finished a scarf for boyfriend...very snappy!!

Catching Up....& Taking A Break...For A While...

the last few trips to the cottage have been wonderful...

sunny summer-like weather...

fires at night to take the chill off...

electric blanket on the bed...

perfect Fall weather...

but...I guess all good things must come to an end...

this week is warm, but then getting quite nipply by the weekend...

we were very fortunate indeed to be able to have the freedom to visit the cottage, when the whim hits us.

my boyfriend will be retiring at the end of this year...and he will be 70 next month...quite a year of special events!!

my son is marrying on October 22...so I will be taking a break from my blog for a while...I will most likely still be posting on Instagram...I LOVE THAT!!
but...the blog will take a well deserved rest for a while...
 

we had the pleasure of having Miss V for the day and a sleepover last Friday...it was perfect weatherwise, and she and I had so much fun!!

she went Thanksgiving grocery shopping with me...

a trip to the flower store for a few tiny pumpkins for the Thanksgiving table...

she brought her own nubbly pumpkin with her, as she wanted to paint it!!

she did a fabulous job...and we painted some stones that I brought from the cottage...she filled the birdbath, and had fun running thru Nana's garden!!  

we picked a few white snow berries at the park for the table as well...

everyone came here yesterday for the meal...it was delicious!!

I am sure that all of my Canadian friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and celebrating our beloved Blue Jays in the baseball playoffs for the World Series once again this year...

I must say...I have watched bits of the American Presidential Debates...
GEESH...good luck with that one!! Should be a very interesting outcome either way!!

So....

I will see you in a few weeks...but I will definitely visit you guys in the meantime...just cannot think of worthy posts right now...I am sure you all understand, that my mind is elsewhere!!
