Thrifty Thursday...

By popular demand...

Well....one demand!!! [thanks devon]

I am featuring my thrifty finds for the last wee while...

The vintage tablecloth was just perfect for the fall season...$2

Golds...tans...browns...creamy whites..

Perfect for the dining table at the cottage...

Always love finding the vintage pyrex vision bowls...especially in the clear brown glass...so useful...soups, chili...even oatmeal... 3 for $1.50

And they look really cool on the tablecloth!!!!

Another item I love to collect...

Green glass...

Pitchers....

And this one had it all...$1

Love the thickness of the handle..

This will be perfect for a small fresh cut floral arrangement...perhaps some Lily-of-the-Valley...or Sweet Peas...

Ahhhhhhh...I can smell them now...

This is a whole new area of thrift shopping for me...

BABY CLOTHES!!!!

Can you believe I paid $1 for this
great fleecy outfit for Vivian...

Won't she look cute as a button in this?

With the Bear ears and all!!!

The blue handknit toque was also $1...

How could I resist????

I also have a BIG soft spot for Santas...

This guy was precious!!!!  50 cents...

I think somebody gave him a haircut and a beard trim...but the face had me...

Such a jolly old elf!!!

He fits right in beside "Christine" my new Christmas mouse...

I also picked up a small china sleigh...which I will make a floral arrangement in...25 cents...

I think Vivian loves her new toque...

And she approves of all of Grandmas
thrifty finds...

I am sure that in the years to come, she will
love playing with all of my Christmas characters....

Hope you all enjoyed the sunshine today...

We spent it outside at the cottage....

           Blowing a few more leaves...

Cut some evergeen branches for my pots here at home...

had lunch El Fresco....watching the waves...

Enjoy your evening...can you see the 3/4 moon???

                             Cheers!  :o)

Thrifty Thursday.......

I think I will try and do a "Thrifty Thursday" post....at least once a month...

That way...I can save up all my goodies, and devote one blog a month to them...

Good idea????

I thought so...

Let's begin...

Picked up this little Poodle last week at the Goodwill....$2...but oh so sweet...

He joined some of my other critters...and I think they liked him...

The tiny chipmunk even offered to share his meal with him...

AWWWWWWWWWWWWW....so cute   :o)

Does anyone know what this type of ceramic is called????Kind of little squigglies  of clay...remember the Play Doh barber shop??? and the hair came out in squiggles...like spaghetti...well...that is what it looks like...

Fabulous Pyrex wheat pattern casserole....mint condition...I left this one at the cottage....I had never seen this colour before...
Bought this sweet little hand painted vase...with the leaves painted around the neck....Then I found another...a bit different...with a cute band  painted around the neck, and tiny dots...

Cute Pansy pattern.....

My Violet on the kitchen table is doing very well....Do you like my latest tablecloth?????   Homesense...where else??

Picked this adorable little cheese
platter...with a magnetic knife...
and a detachable cracker tray!!!

Gave this to my son...as he loves
anything vintage form the 60's..

I know he will love it!!

Added another Jug to my ever-growing collection...love the colour and the "box" shapes of the glass...

Last........but not least.....a Mccoy planter...looks like cabbage leaves...perfect for 2 violets!!!

Visited Vivian yesterday...

She was having "a moment"...

Nothing Granny couldn't fix!!!!

Swaddled her up, and off to sleep she went...

After lots of hugs and kisses....:o)

                      Enjoy your evening...

                                Cheers!   :o)

Overnite Oatmeal & Berries.........

Does anyone out there love Oatmeal???

But doesn't like to clean a messy pot???

Fear not.....Overnite Oatmeal is here!!

Simply take any jar...mason jar is good...fill with 1/3 cup raw large cut Oatmeal...add 1/2 cup milk of your choice...I use the Vanilla Silk Soy Milk...tighten the lid, and place in the fridge overnite....

In the morning, I put the mixture in a bowl...micro for 1 minute...add yogurt and berries...and VOILA...Overnite Oatmeal...

And....BOY.....is it ever delicious....

You can add any number of toppings...berries...cinnamon...brown sugar...maple syrup....chia seeds...honey...sliced bananas....raisins...grated apple...The list is endless...

I have been eating this for breakfast for about 6 weeks...and I love it!!!

            Do something good for yourself.....

                              Make some Overnite Oatmeal...

I guarantee you will love it!!!!

                                                     Enjoy your evening......

Wonderful White Phlox & A Nifty Thrifty Glass Jug...

Another of my favorite Perennials, is
the Phlox....

I had never been acquainted, until we bought the cottage 15 years ago...

There are several varieties there...and I love them all.

I had previously featured a lovely mauve Phlox, which bloomed earlier in the Spring...

Now is the time for the wonderful white Phlox...

Truly lovely...delicate...beautiful..

Enjoy....

Picked up this nifty thrifty glass jug
a few weeks ago...$2

It has a very thick detailed bottom,
with "Italy" inside a leaf pattern..

I love Jugs....I have made Lemonade in it a few times already....next time I will
take a picture....'cause it really looks
cool full of juice and lots of lemon slices...

Cooler today...but kinda damp...

Hope you all had a great day....I did...

                          Cheers!           :o)
