More Beachy Stuff...

Hello Everyone!!!

Back home...safe and sound...after a very crazy drive home...

We ran into torrential rain...and hideous traffic jams...all the way!!

Coming from the Panhandle of Florida, our route is different...

We drove thru Alabama...only a few short days before that horrible tornado hit!!

We actually left a day early, as the weather forecasts were horrible for the drive home...

If we had not....we may have been involved in that devastating situation!!!

But....all is well...happy to be home...had a wonderful time...but much different from our previous stays further South...

We were in Seaside Beach...a beautiful community...fabulous houses...cute shops and places to eat...

But...much cooler temps...and heavy cloud cover...

We were ok with the cooler temps...we knew that going in...but we had hoped for more sunshine...

Our beach walks were lovely...sun or no sun...and only 200 steps from our rental house...which was A M A Z I N G!!!!!

SO...

Glad we missed all the miserable snow...wind and rain storms...

Hoping to see some higher temps in the coming weeks...

Off for a cottage drive Thursday am...fingers crossed all is ok...

Lake Erie experienced a LOT of high winds...and a lot of ice jams pushed ashore...hopefully not at our wee place...

Today At The Cottage......

As it was a nice sunny day...

We decided to take a drive to the dear old cottage...

In MY new wheels.....

Did some odds and ends...

Took some pictures and left!

It was considerably chillier down there...

About 5 degrees cooler than at home...

And...as you can see....the relentless wind...geesh!!

Hope to still squeeze in an overniter soon...

Before she goes to sleep for the Winter...

I can hear the wind howling outside...

Another storm coming in...

Oh well...what are you gonna do???

Think we'll have some chicken soup I made on the weekend... 

A nice easy night on the cook  ♥️

Another Rainy Day Today.......Good Thing I Took These Yesterday

know that you are all...(well most) buried in snow....or rain...

But....

We did drive 2400 kms to get here....

Is it too much to ask for some SUN!

Very chilly today....around 14*c.....so....roughly 45*f.....brrrrrr!

Double brrrrrrrrrr.....

Anyway....took a few pics of our feathered friends.....

There is a bird sanctuary up the beach from us....

You can see them all sitting on the roofs of people's places....

Yikes!   Bird poop overload!

We are far enough away, that we don't get the "aroma" that emits every once in a while!

But....they are beautiful....

Everyone has to poop.....apparently even the Queen! Hahahaha!

Can't you just picture that?

Oh boy.....I digress....starting to lose it here....come on sun!

That is about as fancy as I can get on the IPad.....pretty cool,eh?

We were going to go out for dinner tonight.......BUT.....

It is pouring rain....

I feel that I am getting a cold...my throat is all scratchy......GRRRR!

So....as I write this post....my boyfriend is trimming all that nasty skin and fat off some plump....

Chicken thighs.....which I will put in the oven.....which will help WARM ME UP!

Crispy Yam fries and a Caesar Salad to accompany the chicken.....

So.....thanks to you all....

For listening to me whine.....moan.....complain....well, I think you get the idea!

Last Friday At The Lake......

 Last Friday at the cottage...

Was...

To say the least...

A...

Mixed bag...

Of weather...

Sunshine...

Heavy cloud...

A brisk West wind...

And...

Even...

A showering of Hail!!!

The shingles were delivered....and placed atop the cottage...

I took several shots of that scary adventure....

The roofer has no teeth....and a pony-tail....gotta love it!!!

The view of the Lake was especially beautiful that day....♥

My boyfriend got a few things put away...while I took pictures!!! ha!

Drove out and picked up Miss V, as my daughter is not feeling well...

This is quite a bug going around....my boyfriend is decidedly better...

She will stay over-nite with us, so her Mom can get some rest...♥

She is napping now....so I got this post ready for publication!!!

       Meatloaf with gravy, homemade fires, yellow beans...

Terrific Thursday At The Lake....

Let me start by saying...
Our hearts go out to all the families in Connecticut...
I can't even imagine what it would be like to lose a child...
Especially this way ...
I hope everyone can heal from this horrible tragedy...

 The weather has been so awesome so far...that we get to go to the Cottage at least once a week...

There was a South-West wind, that made it a feel a wee bit chilly...

But the abundance of sunshine made up for that...

We inspected the grounds...

And...

All was well...:o)

 That crazy stone is STILL in place...

It is so funny...everytime we go, now....

I head right down there to see if it is gone...

I will be tracking that all winter...

For your viewing pleasure...of course!!!  :o) 

Above is a tiny green pepper, that must have started to grow...

And obviously got hit with some cold air!!! 

Some of my birdhouses are ready for next spring...and some new tenants..

Usually the Chick-a-dees move in to these...I have been unable to get any photos...

BUt.....there is always next year!!! 

 These tiny succulents had already put out their Fall colours...

Turning burgundy...

And now...they are producing fresh green growth....amazing...

 Sea Oats still looking great...I love the way they sway in the breeze..

 This feather was standing up straight in the stones on the beach...

Kind of a chocolate brown color...

I wonder who lost it??

Found this shell...full of water...a stone and a bit of leaf..

 

 Another shell..up higher...almost looks like a large snail shell..

Of course...the awesome milkweed still putting on a display...

As we were sitting on our bench...we watched the tiny seeds blowing in the wind...

Wonder where they will sprout next spring??

Perhaps this will be the last of the Mums...but who knows???

The sun was flooding into the living room...It wasn't as cold inside this time...and we STILL have the water on!!!  Sooooooo...maybe New Years Eve this year!!!!

As we were locking up...

I grabbed this snowman that I had taken out there a few years ago...

I hung him on the nail where our mirror hangs on the kitchen porch...

I thought...

How festive is that???

I was "making rather merry " last night..

Had a wonderful time...

Great to catch up with old friends...

Dinner went smoothly...and was inhaled by all...

Tonights menu is grilled lamb rib chops and wild rice...
