A Few Bits & Bobs......

 One of my very favorite blog friends...

Sent me a Guest Book for the cottage...

The pics that I had posted here and on IG, of Miss V signing my book at the cottage, inspired her to send me this book that she had had for many years and not used at her own home.

But the icing on the cake...

Was the adorable wee water colour that she included!!!!

She painted this of my toes...in my backyard here...with my blog title 💕

She is an excellent baker and a water colour artiste extraordinaire!!

Her home and gardens are fabulous...she certainly has the "Golden" touch...

Have you ever seen anything so sweet???

A few of you...who also follow her beautiful blog...will know who she is!!

I got my crochet hook out...and made her 2 cotton dishcloths, to thank her for her kind and beautiful gift!

I also made her a card...because that is what I do!! hahaha!! 

 I kept myself busy during all that rain last week...

Got 3 more dishcloths made up...just in case...😉

I am really enjoying making these...love all the different colours...

Now for a few shots from my garden here at home...

Not much really happening...other than a few Forget-Me-Nots....

But my Peonies are really taking off!! Ants and all!!! 

My Trilliums are up...but no flowers...????

I posted this pretty flowerey vine yesterday on IG...

I do not know what it is!!

Betsy has tried to find it, but to no avail...

I got a shot of the leaves below...

Anybody know what this is???

I actuall think it gets a few berries in the Fall...

So...

Perhaps a bird left it for me! 

 And last...

Certainly not least...

Miss V spent Sunday with us... 

The same lovely gal who sent me the guest book, had given her grandson one of her older cameras to take a few photos with...

I copied her...and handed Miss V one of my smaller older ones..(actually the one I give my boyfriend to use from time to time)...and let me tell you...she had a ball!!!

A chip off the old block for sure!!! I have posted a few of hers on IG, if you want to take a look over there....

She was super...and even got a hilarious selfie...😂

So that is me up to the minute...

Thinking of people in our country who are feeling the wrath of the recent rains...

Lots of flooding up here...luckily not for me...and the cottage is fine...

We are heading back down there in the morning...hoping for a few good days in a row... 

Perhaps even a trip to the nursery....:o)

            Oven Panko Cajun crusted Cod...homemade pasta salad...asparagus...

Bits & Bobs......

Well...Hello!

I am back...

Been fighting this cold, tooth and nail!!!

The cough is nearly gone...and I feel human again!

Thank you all for all your get well wishes!!

Just a few pics of what I have been up to, while confined to my house!!

The Harvest Moon was not as Orange here...hmmm...

Wonder why?

Beautiful, none the less!!

We had some pretty heavy rainfall last week...and the sky afterwards was gorgeous!!

My garden thoroughly enjoyed the moisture, and rewarded me with some fantastic blooms!!

I got started on my Granny Square afghan...I have done more than this now...but too darn lazy to take another picture!! Hahaha!!

Our last regular Wednesday with Miss V was bittersweet...♥️♥️♥️

Before Lunch we clipped her Sunflowers, and put them in a vase...the wind has played havoc with them, and this was a better way to enjoy them...I will definitely do this again with her next Spring...It was such fun...

After her swim, I tried my hand at French Braiding her hair!! It all came back to me...and she looked like a doll!!

This last swim, she even used the pool noodle...she had refused up until this!

My last lunch before I got really ill...

Don't you just love poached eggs????

The shower for my future DIL Anna, was a huge success!

Her Mom, Sister {maid of honour} and Debbie{bridesmaid} did an excellent job!

Food was glorious...and we actually played a few games, that were surprisingly fun!!

Got Miss V to relax for a photo...she was having a ball playing with 3 other little girls there... 

Anna was absolutely glowing...

I blurried myself, as I had had a horribly short haircut, and did not feel like myself!!  I am so vain....but...you all know that already!

 

The shower gift to everyone, was M&M's...Ryan and Anna's favorites!!

The girls were kept busy, as Anna had made them all up goodie bags with lots of stuff to do...

Now....this is really thrilling...one of my bloggy pals...Martha...from the blog"Looking Up"...drove from New York State to visit me!!! Imagine that!
We had a nice lunch that I prepared...chatted...chatted...for hours!!
She was also visiting a relative who lived really close by to me!!
I have now met 2 blogger friends...and enjoyed both experiences very much!!
have you met any??? Did you have a good time??? 

And......just look at this fabulous Apple Pie she made for me!!!
I have put it in the freezer, and will be perfect for our Thanksgiving!!!

We had a piece of Miss V's Banana Raspberry loaf...with berries and yogurt...and Martha was quite impressed!!!

So......that is what I have been up to for the last 10 days or so...

My antibiotics are nearly done...

Off to the cottage in the morning, for an extra long weekend...

Cannot wait to see what is happening out there!! I have not been for 12 days!!

I can hardly believe that Thursday is the first day of Fall....

I am looking forward to a beautiful warm sunny Fall...

How is that for being positive???

Dinner was BBQ'd Cod.....rice and Greek salad....delish...

My appetite is finally back...but I did lose 4 lbs, so that makes me happy!!

Every little bit helps!!

Friends For Lunch At The Beach Cottage......

Today was lunch here, with our friends Linda & Joe...

We have known them for over 30 years...met in Canada....they moved to Florida....

They ran a cute  motel in Clearwater for years....

We....and our family had stayed there often over the years....

Very fond memories there....

They are now back in Canada part time....and spend the winters in Largo Florida....

In a lovely home on a small lake....

We always get together when we are down.....and they have visited our cottage at home....

Excuse the Saran Wrap on the water jug....did not want any visitors before we sat down!

We took a nice beach walk....catching up on each other's news....

Sat and lingered after lunch.....more chit chat! Well......mostly me and Linda♥️

Boyfriend and Joe got too much sun....we were smart and stayed at the table....in the shade!

Lunch was great!

I did burgers and homemade potato salad....perfect!

Our Visit To Clear Lake........

As you all may remember...my boyfriend and I had a sleepover with friends last week...the drive in on hwy#28 was beautiful, to say the least...we stopped along the way, and I bought 6 of the most amazing tarts you have ever had!!
Once we arrived...after being LOST for an hour, my friend Nancy guided us in via cell phone!!
what a spectacular spot!! They had torn down their cottage...sold their home in Peterborough, and built a permanent home on Clear Lake...so different from our Lake...but just as spectacular!!
We made our way down all of the steps, after being shown our lovely room and bath...they have a bunkie down near the water...equipped with a toilet and fridge, and all the goodies you would ever want...cutlery,glasses, serving platters etc...and a pull out sofa for extra guests....
We sat on the dock for hours...I had brought a few snacks, and we nibbled away on those...
When we finally went up for dinner...I took a few shots thru the window, and in the kitchen...didn't want to show too much of the interior...after all...it is their private space, and I respect that!! Not that they said anything about that!
Just my own personal opinion! 
While the boys were BBQ'ing delicious pork shishkebobs, I went back down.....and cut a few flowers for the table...Nancy was thrilled!
Dinner was delicious, and we had a fabulous time talking about old and new times...
Nancy and I have known each other for 50 years!! Got into a lot of good troubles in our teens....Her husband Joe, we have known for 42 years...great guy...they have 3 grandsons now...and a granddaughter due in August and another grandson in October...they are thrilled!!
It was really nice to relax and enjoy their company...
We left at about 8:30 in the morning...and struggled with the traffic, due to the Pan Am games...finally got to the 407 toll hwy, and we were home in no time!!

My boyfriend is taking me to Swiss Chalet for dinner... 
My reward for running around all day...Dr visit,Homesense,Loblaws,Walmart,Shoppers Drugmart....
Phew!!
Tomorrow is Miss V for a sleepover...picked her up a new pair of jammies...
Minnie Mouse...she will love them!!
Hopefully a swim before it gets too hot...
