What's On Your Kitchen Table?

My kitchen table is always covered with something!!

Not messy, mind you...

Just full of things basking in the sunshine...when there IS sunshine!

The plum tomatoes and garlic, will go into a sauce for Mussels for my boyfriend for dinner tonight...

The bigger tomato and avacados, will go into a Greek salad for us to share...

I will be having a small homemade pizza with my salad!!

Do you write notes to yourself???

I do that constantly...especially for going to the cottage...I must write down everything I need to take for a specific dish or salad...Until it gets fully stocked...which usually takes at least a month...to remember all the little condiments etc to take...

So....that is what is on my kitchen table this chilly Friday...

Peeks of sunshine...but still brisk winds...cold!!

We are staying home tonight...will get to the cottage tomorrow...

If the winds co-operate...a bonfire...gotta burn those leaves!!

And a sleepover...we will be toasty inside...with the furnace and a fire♥️

We will be driving to our sons place on Sunday...from the cottage...

For the birthday celebrations!!

Everything is ready to pack up...

Friday...late afternoon...winds died down...sun came out...able to have dinner on the sunporch

Saturday morning...from the bedroom window...winds are back...and rain

Sunday morning...breakfast with the seagulls on the beach deck...

Sunday...thought this was a Datura...think it is a Brugmansia!!

Bits & Bobs....and the Orange Moon♥️

I built a Lake Erie Inukshuk on the beach...

Had a very busy weekend...

this post will be a few pics taken over the last week or so...

still very hot and humid here...

another small crop of tomatoes...this bunch I added to diced potatoes,onions,peppers and mushrooms...in olive oil in the oven...delish!

lovely and calm last weekend...actually had a sandy beach...

      This was the moon on Friday night at the cottage...

              We were lucky enough to enjoy a firepit after dinner...

                      And get absorbed by the MOON.....

                                Isn't that just GLORIOUS??

           I had a busy one...for sure...

             Washed the slipcovers for the couch...went shopping with my boyfriend...

              Got some lovely fresh Cod for dinner....garden fresh  yellow beans...

                 Cod is soaking in...you guessed it...buttermilk!!

                   We also scored some new seat cushions for our Muskoka chairs at the cottage...

                        6 brand spankin' new ones for next year...waterproof fabric!!

                           Very excited about that!!

                              Also got the boyfriend a new leather recliner for the family room...

                                Very luxurious...creamy leather...nice!!

The Week That Was......

Only because I am still at home...
And not at the cottage..due to crappy weather...
Oh well...

  Front Ferns and Hostas looking good...

  Lots more Hostas to come....and Lily Of The Valley...

  Perhaps next week.... 

  Ok....back to being happy...I thought my Forget-me-nots forgot to come up!!!
  Found a small patch at the front....seems to have some pink in there as well...
  Happy...happy....happy!

 

  Did a little bit more clean-up...lots of needles from the big old Pine tree...

 

   OK....my boyfriend and I got the pool cover off....water looks pretty scuzzy eh???

  After some sweeping,vacuuming, more sweeping...chlorine...and a day later...

  TA DA!!    Looks a 1000 times better!   {that is just me folding laundry...2 more loads to go}

  Tomatoes and avacadoes sunning themselves...amde them into a Greek salad that night...

                Very juicy! 

   The backyard yielded a small patch of forget-me-nots as well...

   These were a deeper blue than at the front...

   Wonder if there are any at the cottage....{will have to wait to see}

   Kalanchoe out for the summer...tiny Hens and Chicks looking a bit grim...

   Hopefullly they will pick up... 

  

   While digging out a few stray bamboo shoots...

   I discovered this lovely yellow Tulip...completely hidden....lovely!

   And...the ants...are loving the Peonies!!! 

  Earlier in the week...

  I mentioned some sweet   cantaloupe...

         Well...

  Not to disappoint...

       It is cut and ready to go to the   
cottage....
         supposed to be warmer this weekend...

   Had a real downpour earlier....while I was out...of course!!

   Picked up 2 gigantic ferns at Walmart....$9.88 each!!!    Fantastic....

   They are for the cottage...so I will get a pic this weekend!!

          Home made Pizza...with sliced tomatoes,black olives,sauteed mushrooms,goats cheese...

                  And....of course.....smoked salmon on my boyfriends portion...:o)


                         I think Ceasar Salad with the rest of those juicy grape tomatoes...
