Enjoying The Birds This Winter.....

Hope you are all well...and surviving this brutally cold Winter so far...

We have been in the frigid -30c temps for weeks now...

It is supposed to break early next week...and then it will rain!

I have been keeping busy around here...Mostly Bird watching! hahaha!!

Seriously...I got Christmas packed away for another year...

And then our central vacuum went on the hummer!!

We get a new unit on Tuesday...we have had it for over 30 years, so I guess it did it's job pretty well...

We also ordered a new front door, which is supposed to come mid January...

Very excited about that...totally different look with the new door!!

Our Miss V had been away for 10 days, so we are looking forward to seeing her next weekend...and hearing her stories from her trip... 

Got a delicious cake made the other day...

I had put the recipe here a few years back...Blueberry Buttermilk Breakfast Cake...but you can really use any berries you have...I used some frozen Blackberries in this one....very tasty, indeed!!

Well...it actually seems a bit brighter this evening...it is 5:10 right now...

And it really does seem brighter outside than other evenings...

Guess the longer days are starting to kick in....FINALLY!! 

Knock on wood...we have not been sick...I hear that lots of people have a horrible flu, but we have been able to elude it so far... 

Fingers crossed our luck continues.....

I grabbed a pic of the Moon the other night....glorious!! 

 

I have a nice roast beef in the oven, and the house is starting to smell delicious...

Looks like Summer has arrived for sure!

Heading back to the cottage in the morning...spent 2 days there earlier in the week...gorgeous weather!!

Will be back on Sunday, as our sweet Miss V will be hanging around with us for a  few days...before she heads off to FLORIDA with her Mommy...to celebrate her 5th birthday at Disney!!!!!

I must say...I am already starting to worry...2 gals off on their own...in another country...but...that is just me...a worrier thru and thru...♥️

Ok....back to business.....

Hello everyone....

Everything here is great....weather hot...unbelievable!

Here are a few photos to keep you busy! Hahaha!

We went to our very favourite restaurant again last night!

The Salt Rock Grill in Indian Shores...right up the street....we can walk!

The Grouper Chowder there is soooooo tasty, but last night we opted for the Firecracker Tuna....

Mouth watering....so tender....with such a unique taste....highly recommend this appetizer!

They always serve hot sour dough bread, with their signature olive oil/herb dip....

Soooo good....I have replicated it a few times.

We eat at the outdoor bar...alongside the Intercoastal waterway....

A couple of beers....a couple of appetizers....lots of bread...and that is dinner!

Then....we walk back along the beach....in the sunset!

Man oh man....are we ever spoiled!

We always find interesting things on our beach walk...

Boyfriend found this wee Soldier....how cute is that?

Managed to snip a few more flowers to make a small....but colourful....bouquet!

Mr Moon is back,and putting on quite a display....hope to get a few more shots, as he gets bigger all week....

We leave on Saturday am....can hardly believe it is almost over!

But....Miss V is waiting at the other end for us...💙

There are plenty of Aloe Vera plants all around the cottage....

Some of them are HUGE!

The Sunsets never disappoint....

Even when a big cloud rolls in...the beauty is awesome!

We went to a Toronto Blue Jays game last week....MAN, WAS IT HOT! 😅

As you can see we had excellent S seats....unfortunately they lost...😕

Did I mention how hot it was?

I am still cooking up a storm....my choice, by the way.

Good restaurants are few and far between down here...unless you just want to stuff your face!

I made Cajun/panko coated chicken tenders with asparagus and home fried taters....

The leftover chicken, was made into a rice and sautéed veggie dish...

With my Greek Salad....

Both meals were delicious....AND....healthy,too!

My latest afghan is growing by the minute....had to purchase 2 balls of yarn....

I will most likely finish this before we start the drive home.

This handsome fella visits us most afternoons....

Loves to take in the sunsets too!

I made fish tacos one night....I made up a sour cream/mayo/relish/hot sauce for them....

With all the chopped veggies, they were really good....😊
