It is rainy and drizzly and damp and dark here today...
I have been to the grocery store...
I have been to Michael's...{YAY}
Time to settle in...get cosy...and get the stove busy!!
I am going to make some lazy cabbage rolls...
They are so delicious..and very easy...and lazy...hahaha!

One of my Begonia rescues is rewarding me with beautiful delicate blooms...
My huge Jade plant...which I put outdoors in the summer...
Is also gonna bloom...it did this last year...and I was amazed...
A few of you may remember...I will definitely post the blooms...
When they appear!!
And who doesn't love fresh fruit...it will cheer up any gloomy day!!
Think I'll have a cup of tea...with some sliced apple...great afternoon snack..
this Salmon coloured Portulaca was from the cottage...
It loves it here in the dining room...full afternoon sun...lovely!
This cute Chick a dee dee dee looks like he is napping...

He just finished a large sunflower seed...

I brought in the few blooms that I had on my limelight Hydrangea...
They are a pale almost creamy pale green in the Summer...
And they turn this beautiful Rosey colour in the Fall...
Just wish I could get more blooms!

She will be here tomorrow...
Can hardly wait!!
She brightens up any day!!
I got some Christmas stickers, and thought we might do a craft...
Not sure about a bike ride or the park...the rain is supposed to stay with us...
Oh well...can't complain...better than snow !!!

Well...
We are home!!
Arrived late Thursday night...put in 1, 10 hour day...and 1, 15 hour day!
There is no place like home!!
Some of my blooming Geraniums greeted me...
First thing Friday morning...
I put some seed in a few feeders...
Today I have seen Mr & Mrs Cardinal...
A few Nuthatch...Chickadees...and Juncos...:o)
Yesterday morning I headed to the grocery store...
Needed all fresh new stuff...
Including...of course...a fresh Basil plant..
Crispin Apples...
Bartlet Pears...
3 bunches of tulips...
And some Strawberries and Blackberries...
And...
They had those cool hydroponic Boston Lettuce again...love this!!
Lots of Tomatoes...
Avacado...
Fresh asparagus...
Just to name a few things...hahaha!
The sun shone brightly all day yesterday...
Today is a bit more dreary...but that is ok...
It gave me a chance to get the laundry done...
And a nice fresh pot of chicken soup is bubbling on the stove...
We had grilled lamb chops last night...
And...I plan...to make some Scotch Broth with the left over chops....:o)
But...the very best part of being home...
Was waving at Miss V thru the window, as she walked up our front steps!!!
Big smile on her face...brought tears to my eyes ♥️
She had a big piece of Nanas cake...with berries and yogurt...
Just like old times!!
Love those eyes!!
She was very happy to see her Papa...
Ran up to her room, to get some toys...
Put on her slippers...awwww...
Grabbed a bag of odds and ends...
Posed for me...with her mitts and all!!!
And all the hand cream...
Last night...we ate dinner in our dining room...like we always do...
Loved looking into my living room, while eating...
Theres no place like home!!

We were up early again...still trying to get back to normal...
Crispy roasted chicken thighs with roasted potatoes and asparagus tonight...
Then we plan to put a fire on, and watch some of Season 3 of House of Cards!!!

Tomorrow all my kids are coming for dinner...
Gonna whip up a gluten free veggie lasagna...
Catch up with them over dinner...sounds perfect to me...♥️

Yesterday...
My friend D came for a cup of tea...
She brought her own lunch...
As she says. she has been eating all summer...
And needs to lose some weight!!
Yeah...right!
She is a fitness instructor..
Tall and lean...
NO reason to lose weight!!!
We usually have one of my banana-blueberry loaves...
BUt..she said...NO!
Allright already...relax!
So...
She brought a spinach salad...
And I had some chicken salad...
Made from that slow-cooked chicken the other night...{gosh...that was a great idea}
And a 1/2 sliced tomato...
Along with a cup of tea.....and nice big glass of ice water with a lemon slice...
She did agree to some strawberries....raspberries...bananas...and no-fat vanilla yogurt...
Topped off with one of Miss V's Arrowroot cookies!
We chatted from 12:30 'til 3:30!!!
Non-stop gab fest...mostly me...of course!!! I don't get out much! hahaha!
It was a lovely relaxing day...sitting in the sun in the kitchen...
Ahhhhhhhh...that was so nice and relaxing...
Whereas today...
Guess where I went AGAIN?!
YUP.......Wal-MArt!!!
Drove to the better one...guess what???
"We should be getting that chunky wool in very soon....perhaps tomorrow"
TOMORROW???
I was so disappointed...but I did pick up a couple of other things...
I got some white cotton 4 ply...to crochet a pillow...will share shortly!!
SO......I drove over to MY Wal-Mart...as I had some pictures printed...
And I happened to go back to the wool aisle there...and...
Lo...and....Behold....they had a scruffy ball of the Chunky that I was looking
for!!!! Looks like some body had opened the bag...they had the regular price
on it...sooooooo...I found the Mgr of that dept...and got it reduced to 1/2
price!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!
I can now finish the afghan...and I have enough of other stuff to do a nice edging......
WHAT A DAY!!!!!!!!
The best part, was when I picked up Miss V...and brought her for a visit with Nana and Papa...{that is what she calls us!!!}
