It's Raining...It's Pouring...

It's raining...

It's pouring...

My garden is happy...

and...

So is this wee guy ♥️

Took all of these thru the window...

Hope it rains all day...

Sheets changed and washed...

White load done and folded...

Cottage laundry done and ready to go back...

I have a pork tenderloin for dinner...

Not sure whether to slice and grill like medallions...or go for the oven, and roast it whole??

Ahh....decisions...decisions....

Ours was verrrryyyy relaxing at the cottage...

Finished up another crochet project...boyfriend finished his latest read...

The most noise we heard, was from the sprinkler...watering...

Everything was as dry as a stick...lots of cleaning up to do... :/

Not my favorite of garden chores....to say the least...

Next weekend will come soon enough for that job...YUCK!!

Here & There....

I seem to be having a hard time getting a post together the past few weeks...

There dont seem to be enough hours in the day anymore...

Or...

I am just getting old!!

Anyway...here is a quick catch up on the last week...

Spent the evening poolside on Thursday, with our friends Devon and Mark, who moved across the country to British Columbia last fall...

Unfortunately the clouds rolled in...what else is new...and we ate dinner inside..

It was lovely seeing them again...

Devon brought me a lovely Rose coloured Kalanchoe, which I have taken to the cottage for the Summer...

Thanks Devon!!

Will have to see how long I can keep her going...

I usually have pretty good luck with this plant...
 

Here is what Friday afternoon and evening looked like at the cottage...

This is one of our neighbours to the West...

We were in the middle of some chores, when the skies blackened...the wind was very gusty...and the rain very heavy...

The power was out for 2 hours!!

Needless to say, we spent the day inside...

But...we were kinda tired from the night before anyway! hahaha!

Saturday proved to be an absolutely gorgeous day...

We got lots of outdoor work done...

All my baskets are planted...

And doing very well indeed..

These Begonias are so beautiful...love them!!

Here is the Kalanchoe that Devon gave me...

Brought her inside before I left!!

Early evenings are fabulous at the cottage , when it is sunny...

This is the view from the kitchen...

I had a hole cut in the wall, and a window installed, shortly after we bought 18 years ago...

One of the best decisions I ever made!

Boyfriend bringing the cushions in, while I get dinner on the go!!

Just enough time, to grab a bit more "sun" time!!

Before we head in...to eat dinner on the sunporch...my favorite place..♥️
 

Sunday was another rain event day...and very humid...

We had planned to stay over again...but not in the rain!!

Rained most of the drive home...

Have Miss V today...her and I went to the grocery store...

Picked up some nice Cod...which, of course...is soaking in a buttermilk bath!!

She is still napping...so thought I better get a post done...or you will all think I have shrivelled up!!

Still taking lots of pics...and cooking...perhaps some jam later in the week...

I do freezer jam...much easier...and really, just as tasty!!

Thru The Window.....

 Last night's Moon...thru the window at 10pm...beautiful!!

The Blizzard ...thru the window...at 1pm today...

 Red...wondering where I was...thru the window...2pm today...

 The calm...thru the window...2pm...time for a walk...

Backyard twinkle lights on...at 2:30 pm  today...thru the window...
                    so dark, the timer came on..
 

Raining...thru the window...today at 3pm...just back from our walk...in the rain!

Check out those Geraniums...still blooming!

As I type this...the rain has turned back to snow...

The commute home will be a nightmare...

How is the weather where you are??

On the menu tonight...baked Cod..and...you know...soaking in buttermilk!!

Wild rice...fresh spinach...grilled mushrooms,onions and 3 colors of peppers...

Not sure about a salad yet...will think on that!!


On another note...

Let me tell you...this has been difficult for me...

I did one post yesterday...and I nominated Laurie...a very special person and artist extraordinaire...Wanda has already been doing her thing, and Martha has now finished her 5 days...I must nominate somebody else today...and I think I have a good one...if anyone of you are on FB...and I don't already know that...pop on over...send me a friend request... and see what is going on...it is 
fun!!...but HARD!! Not FB....the Art Chain...I am not an "Artist" per say, like the other gals...Anyhoo....I have blabbed enough...

Wet & Windy Weather.....

This is what greeted us at the cottage last Friday...YIKES!

It had been sunny all the way there...

But...that soon came to an end...

I went right down to the beach to get a few shots of the waves...

The wind was gusting to 50kmhs/hr....VERY WINDY INDEED!

There was no outside time at all...

The weatherman promised it would be sunny and warm til at least 7pm...

But...guess what???  HE WAS WRONG.....AGAIN!

My boyfriend was good enough to chop some wood up...

I got the kindling all together...and ready on the kitchen porch...

Then....it started to rain...at about 1:30pm....way ahead of schedule!

 

 

 At this point...we headed for town...as we had a few boxes to drop at our favorite thrift...

We picked up a few new things as well!!

Well....you know how it is...once you get inside the thrift shop...

You HAVE to buy something!!

We returned to the cottage around 4pm...still raining...and blustery...

After we got settled in...

Dinner in the oven...

Our handyman Lloyd dropped by...

To chat about the new furnace...YAY!

So.....we had a beer with him...hahaha!

While watching the evening news...

Around 6:15...

I spied something out the window...is that the SUN?????

Well....by golly...it was!!!

Boyfriend went out for a closer look...but still windy...and too darn wet to sit out...  :o(

 

And just look at that happy sunset...

Who would have imagined the day would end so nicely...

But...alas...the rain returned all night...and into the morning....

 

Next morning was really foggy....damp...dark...windy...rainy...
 

We actually slept quite late...

Had a bagel and cream cheese...

Got cleaned up...

And left for home around 3:30...

It was chilly...

So glad I packed a warm sweater...

My nice white scarf...

And...

Of course...

My smile... :o)

There will be many more weekends at the cottage this Fall...

I am sure of that!

Managed to squeeze a walk in...and a visit with Miss V...

Man oh man....she loves my cake and berries ♥️

Think it will be breakfast for dinner tonight...

Scrambled egg whites...fried ham...home fries with green onion and red pepper...

Friday...Seagull bracing the high winds and waves...until he finally takes off...and in flight

Friday...late afternoon...winds died down...sun came out...able to have dinner on the sunporch

Saturday morning...from the bedroom window...winds are back...and rain

Sunday morning...breakfast with the seagulls on the beach deck...

Sunday...thought this was a Datura...think it is a Brugmansia!!

Sunday afternoon...ready to go home
