I do believe...that the Begonia is most likely my very favorite Flower!
I have really good luck with them in my baskets at the cottage...
Even though I leave them for 4-5 days...they NEVER disappoint!
These first few, are a Dragon Wing variety...
Unfortunately, I did not keep the tags...:/...so not really sure of the name...
I love the deep red underneath of the leaves...
A very delicate flower...understated...but, beautiful none the less!
There are 2 varieties in this basket...
They flower non-stop...and for this reason...I love them!!
Do any of you find it difficult to photograph red or deeply coloured flowers???
I find they always look washed out...
This is a peach Begonia, which I paired with a peachy Geranium and a peachy succulent, called Portulaca...it is doing really well, but hard to photograph in bright sunlight!
Will try again this weekend!
These are 2 shades of Pink...one a wee bit deeper...I paired them with a Polka Dot plant, and an annual grass...they look awesome together!!
The wee waxy Begonia below, is with some Nicotiana, a Pink Geranium and a grass as well...
Love these waxy ones...I usually try and bring them inside for the winter...
And they are so grateful, they reward me with sweet flowers all winter long...♥️
This gal is my prime love!!!
I only bought one of these dreamy creamy pale pinky peachy ones...what was I thinking???
She is paired with a tiny flowering annual...again I forgot the tag...I better remember to do that in the future!!
Well...there you have it...these are my beloved Begonias....here for your viewing pleasure!!
Nothing much else going on in my life right now...
Except for a hideous trip to WalMart today...but I won't bore you with that!!
I am trying to forget it!!!
Hope you are all having a great day...
We had a wonderful rain yesterday...I sure hope the Cottage got its share...
It is so nice to have the windows open...and the breeze blowing thru!!
It is Fish night here...got a lovely piece of Cod...
Think I want fries with that....and some green and yellow beans...
Sliced tomatoes,cucumbers and goats cheese!
Enjoy the rest of your day...
Tomorrow is Miss V...hope to get outside with her...perhaps the park!!
Cheers! :o)

Last Friday started out looking like this!!
So....after putzing around 'til nearly lunch time...we headed out!!
First we had lunch at Harveys in Port Colborne, then we headed for Welland, as they have a mall there...with a Winners!!
When we returned to the cottage, around 3 pm, things were looking much brighter!!
I took a stroll down to the beach...
The Milkweed has begun to produce its flowers...
Very pleased with this, as the Monarchs and the Hummingbirds love this Native plant...they grow wherever the seeds drop...and I could not be happier!!
The Perennial Lunaria, are starting to form their Silver Dollars...the seeds are inside...you can already see them...I will get a picture in the Fall, when they are in their glory!! A very pretty specimen...again, they grow where the seeds land!
these all happen to be on the beach...
You can see that things are beginning to brighten up...
These Coleus, in a planter down by the beach deck, are almost Neon!!
I hunted around, and found a few things for a Kitchen Porch Arrangement...
Ferns...Hosta leaves...Gout Weed flowers...a few Chive Flowers...and...I think a Yellow weed!! hahaha! But...the flower resembles an Evening Primrose to me!!
And...of course...a Bee!!
While dinner was in the oven, we found a sunny spot at the road side of the cottage...this is where the sun sets...in the West...a nice spot at the end of a day..
We were also able to eat dinner on the sunporch, as the sun was streaming in there...almost the longest day of the year!!
Saw this adorable Dove up in the branches of one of our Evergreens...
This is for you Deb!!
Just had to add another shot of that amazing Begonia!!
Soooo beautiful!!
And the Sunset over the Lake was pretty impressive too!!
Hope you are all having a great day!!
A beautiful one here! Plenty of sunshine, and a lovely breeze...
Did a Costco run, and nabbed 2 rotiserrie chickens!
One for the cottage tomorrow...and one for the freezer!
Such a good deal...we can never resist!
Chicken soup on the stove...also for the cottage...love soup for the weekend!
Gonna have panko crusted crispy pork chops..with roasted yams, carrots and onions...and some fresh asparagus with parmesan cheese!!
Perhaps we will dine by the pool again tonight...did that last night, and...oh...it just makes the meal so much more delicious!!
Don't you agree??
Have a great evening...
I will wrap up LAST weekend tomorrow...geesh...I have a one track mind lately...cottage....cottage....cottage!!
Can you blame me??
Cheers! :o)

We headed for the cottage on Thursday morning, as the weather people, said it would be a great day out on Lake Erie...
We arrived to a soggy, steamy, messy cottage...lots of dirt washed up from the rains and winds...and the KEYS from the Maple trees...don't get me started on that!!
We had some lunch, and got started on our various tasks...
Boyfriend blew,raked and swept keys..
Then he tried to murder them with the lawnmower...but every attempt failed...miserably!!
And....every time the wind picked up...they would come twirling down!!
I chose the sunporch and kitchen porch as my projects...cleaned, wiped, swept, polished from top to bottom...lovely and clean...after we had both finished, we were sweaty and dirty...We decided we should have at least one cold beer before our showers...well...perhaps 2...hahaha!
After all of that...feeling refreshed and clean...we settled back on the beach deck, to watch the goings on...birds, squirrels, chipmunks...you get the idea...
Well...the skies darkened....and the fog started to drift in..and I mean pea soup fog!!! In we went, as a sort of misty rain, accompanied the fog!!
We decided to watch the news, and see if we could get a weather report...
We ate dinner, and then was when I got the bird shots...thru the window!!
Around 8pm...the sky cleared...and the wind died down...too wet to sit outside, so our beloved screened sunporch was clean as a whistle, and whistling our names!!
I enjoyed my flower pots that I had planted out there...my son and Anna gave me those for my birthday!! Nice, eh??
SO.............that was our Thursday...
I wonder what Friday will have in store for us??? hmmmmm....
Hope you all had a great weekend...
Got around to a few of you...not all...will get there...promise!!
We had Miss V today...gosh it was hot at the park!!
She dangled her toe toes in the pool to cool off!!
Enjoy the rest of your day...
Cheers! :o)

I seem to be having a hard time getting a post together the past few weeks...
There dont seem to be enough hours in the day anymore...
Or...
I am just getting old!!
Anyway...here is a quick catch up on the last week...
Spent the evening poolside on Thursday, with our friends Devon and Mark, who moved across the country to British Columbia last fall...
Unfortunately the clouds rolled in...what else is new...and we ate dinner inside..
It was lovely seeing them again...
Devon brought me a lovely Rose coloured Kalanchoe, which I have taken to the cottage for the Summer...
Thanks Devon!!
Here it is...ain't she a beauty?? ♥️
Will have to see how long I can keep her going...
I usually have pretty good luck with this plant...
Here is what Friday afternoon and evening looked like at the cottage...
This is one of our neighbours to the West...
We were in the middle of some chores, when the skies blackened...the wind was very gusty...and the rain very heavy...
The power was out for 2 hours!!
Needless to say, we spent the day inside...
But...we were kinda tired from the night before anyway! hahaha!
Saturday proved to be an absolutely gorgeous day...
We got lots of outdoor work done...
All my baskets are planted...
And doing very well indeed..
These Begonias are so beautiful...love them!!
Here is the Kalanchoe that Devon gave me...
Brought her inside before I left!!
Early evenings are fabulous at the cottage , when it is sunny...
This is the view from the kitchen...
I had a hole cut in the wall, and a window installed, shortly after we bought 18 years ago...
One of the best decisions I ever made!
Boyfriend bringing the cushions in, while I get dinner on the go!!
Just enough time, to grab a bit more "sun" time!!
Before we head in...to eat dinner on the sunporch...my favorite place..♥️
Sunday was another rain event day...and very humid...
We had planned to stay over again...but not in the rain!!
Rained most of the drive home...
Have Miss V today...her and I went to the grocery store...
Picked up some nice Cod...which, of course...is soaking in a buttermilk bath!!
She is still napping...so thought I better get a post done...or you will all think I have shrivelled up!!
Still taking lots of pics...and cooking...perhaps some jam later in the week...
I do freezer jam...much easier...and really, just as tasty!!
Hope you are all having a great day...
Raining or sunny??
Humid or cool??
Seems like the whole worlds weather has gone kooky...
Enjoy your new week...anything on your agenda???
Cheers! :o)
