New Flag!!

I forgot to tell you all!!

I know I have shown you our flag on the beach many times...

My boyfriend buys them at the $ store, and we usually go thru 3 a year!!

We did not put up our Martin House this season...we hardly got any mating birds...and it is such a lot of work...so......the pole stood there!!

My daughter and SIL bought a flag mount, and a beautiful big flag for their Dad on Father's Day!!

They came out to the cottage...and Jeff got it installed for us!!

We love the way it looks!!!!

Doesn't it look awesome from way up at the cottage??

We could not see the other flag from up there...

Do you remember when I showed you how much Miss V's sunflower seeds had grown at the cottage??? Well....when I returned the next week...SOMEONE had eaten them all!!! Not sure if it was Chipper or the Squirrels!!

This is how it looked....:o(

I bought some more seeds...planted them in a smaller pot...and I left it on the sunporch...to ensure NOBODY eats them!!!!

Hoping for some seedlings when I return this Thursday!!

Pure cloud today...cooler...but kinda damp and muggy...

Hoping for some rain overnight...

In honor of the cooler temps...I am making meatloaf and roasted potatoes...

Fresh Asparagus with that...I also got some of our Canadian Strawberries...

                                   DELICIOUS!!!!

Here we are celebrating another Canada Day...

Weather is kooky....rain...sun...wind....geesh!

Wish Mother Nature would make up her mind!

Ferns...Flags...Frilly Daffodils...

Saturday was a drive to the dear old cottage...
It was a lot warmer along the way...only 11*c out there...still darn chilly...
Plenty of lovely Ferns unfurling...
Plenty of frilly Daffodils...
Had to install new flag, as the winds took the pole and all...
Did not stay..as still punky...
Came home...
Cooked a rack of lamb with Wild rice and my infamous Greek Salad...
Did some moon gazing as well...
See the shot of the beach deck up there...
The new addition was added last year...not stained as yet...
For My Mothers Day gift, my kids arranged with our handyman...
To powerwash...scrape...and restain the deck for me!!!

                             AWESOME!!!!

Hopefully he can get at it shortly!
One more thing off the list....

Hope you all had a great Mothers Day...
We had a full house...lots of action and noise!!
It was a perfect day for the back patio and a walk to the park!

 Supposed to rain...nothing yet....very warm out!
 Have a young man fixing our back deck...and a plumber installing a new toilet in the boyfriend's ensuite...

The Icebergs Have Floated Away....

     Finally a more Summer-like view....well...except of course for all the raking that still needs to   be done....but...at least the Icebergs have floated away...so much better!!

The new flag is up....Welcome another cottage season!!

It was a glorious Saturday afternoon....North wind, so perfect for a lakeside bonfire...and a few refreshments!
Of course...this was after the big clean-up featured below!

this was my biggest job that I got done...cut 2 of the big Miscanthus...rake all the leaves out...get them down to the bonfire...YAY!!!

Still lots of raking to be done...but...with this warm weather, perhaps a few blooms soon!

     


We also enjoyed another bonfire with our neighbours...

Then retired inside...for a lovely Rib dinner...

And a cosy sit by the fire inside!

I have not mentioned the one problem we have...

The water would not start...seems we have a leaky pipe in the basement...a plumber will be required...
BUT.... we did spend the night...toasty and warm in our bed...
But no water....YET!
Hopefully real soon.......
