The planter that Miss V and I did last week...
Is looking glorious!!
Thank goodness she is such a thoughtful and careful gardener...
The few Scillia and Daffodils I had, are long gone...
And...this planter is reviving our gardening spirits...
Such beautiful colourful Flowers...
Such an abundance of new buds and blooms...
Lets hear it for The Greenhouse!! {aka the flower store}
Miss V and I have decided that next week...
We shall visit again...and...bring home some more loveliness...
To adorn our lives...so fulfilling!
And...I must say...Those RUSTY..PINKY...MAUVEY Osteospermum...
Are simply divine!!
Those darn COSMOS aren't too shabby either!!
Miss V's pot of White Cosmos are doing great...
And...she gave them a big drink...and filled the birdbath as well...
Unfortunately I think her Sunflowers are toast...:o(
But....her Pumpkins are looking outstanding!
Will grab a photo of those to show you....
I think we will put some more Sunflower seeds in the pots...
And hope for the best!!
And...not to disappoint...

Our first stop was "The FLower Store" better known as Mississauga Greenhouses!
I have taken you here before...LOVE this place!
So does Miss V! Good thing she had her sunglasses in her "packpack"...
And her new toy from Auntie Lissa and Uncle Jeff!!
We picked a few plants for my front planter...
I will buy a few more later...I like them "stuffed"...hahaha!
Next stop was the grocery store for some pizzas for dinner...
They did not have any plain cheese..{Miss V's fav}...
So...while they made us up a fresh one...
We strolled next door to Mastermind...a fabulous toy store...
It was quite a thrill for her...so many toys...so little time! hahaha!
After picking up the pizzas...and having lunch...
We got busy on planting up Nana's front planter... with the flowers we had picked out...Miss V likes pink...and blue...unfortunately no blue flowers that day...perhaps next trip...love blue Lobelia...

She enjoyed just digging up a wee bit of dirt with her "digger"...
And transferring it to another pot...

We put a couple of Cosmos into this old pot...she was thrilled...and..she found...
3 Snails!
She carefully placed them in the pot with the Cosmos...
{nobody inside tho'} tee hee hee
Got it all planted up!
Looks beautiful...will add more later!!
Then...it was time for a quick bike ride...gloves and all...♥️
She helped me put everything away...
And we came inside...washed our hands...and got busy baking...
Ooooops...already showed you these...just wanted to tempt you again!
After the cookies were in the oven...
I sliced up an apple...and Miss V relaxed watching Bubble Guppies...
While I cleaned up the mess in the kitchen!!
After her show...she got busy making her Mom a Mother's Day Card...
I cut a Crown shape out of felt...and we went from there...
She loves doing this so much...so proud of her, that she enjoys the simple things in life...what a future she has ahead of her...so glad to be part of it ♥️
She wrote her name...added some jewels and stickers...and we put it in an envelope...did not get the finished product...but...it was sweet!
When her Mom arrived...we chatted and then we had pizza...
What a great day it was...can't wait til I see her again...

Update on boyfriends progress...
His flights were rerouted a bit...
He will not be in Edmonton at all...
He will fly from Grande Prairie...to Calgary...to Winnipeg...to Toronto!!
He won't arrive until around 8pm...he will be pooped!!
I made some beef stew...hopefully it will hit the spot nicely...
He wants to go to the cottage Saturday morning and stay til Monday!
I said..."NO WAY!"....NOT!! Can't wait! A couple of days out there will be just what the Dr ordered!!

This is still all about last Friday, that we spent at the cottage...for the afternoon...

This small bouquet has been going strong for about 4 weeks or so...
The Coleus has rooted...and the Sedum should bloom shortly!
Both...will be suitable for transplant!!
Love this Sedum in the shed planter..
They look like tiny pink stars...
The Pink of these Obedient plants is stunning...
And...
These Morning Glory...
Are finally...
Coming into their own...

I really love this variegated variety...
The foliage is so pretty to look at...
Zsa Zsa still going strong...Perhaps I can get her into the ground this weekend..
The next pic, actually shows her ruffled petals full of rain water....
I think this Datura is one of the biggest I have ever seen...
Lots of buds as well......YIPPPEEE!!
This Coleus and tiny pink bloom...
{sorry...I forgot the name..I added her as an annual to one of my baskets}
Even make this fly{yuck} look good!!!
Not sure who this wee guy is on the Datura bud...

I love this plant!!!
What does one say about the glorious Geranium...They will soon be coming
inside....to spend the Winter with us....and bloom again next year...
AWESOME!!!!
SO....that just about wraps up our cottage visit last Friday...
My garden still has a lot of life left in it...
And I intend to enjoy every last second...
And.......of course........share it with you!! :o)

Started out cloudy, but the sun has managed to come out...
Miss V woke us at 6:15....and, as I compose this post... is down for her second nap...
When she awakes, my boyfriend and I will drive her out to her new place...
And.....see her Mom!!
She has been an excellent house guest...and so entertaining!!
She says "Hi!" to everyone...she could be the youngest greeter at Walmart!

As we inch our way towards another long weekend...
I thought I would share a very good performer this summer...
This bright orange coleus is doing really well...
I planted in one of my HUGE containers down near our beach deck...
She sits nestled in amongst the tall Miscanthus, so, she gets some protection from the cruel winds we can get off the Lake...
I took these at the same time of day as the previous post...
Right when the sun was peeking thru the grasses...
It is recommended to nip off the tiny florets that form, as you will get more leaf growth...
And the leaves is the whole point of this spectacular plant...
This is the other coleus I have in a big pot...
But...
On the other side of the deck, and he gets waaayyy more sun and wind...
A bit differently colored...and I see a floret that needs to be nipped!!

Hot and Sunny here...they say rain for the weekend...hope not!!!
Except at night...that is fine with me!!
Expecting all my kids out on Saturday...pray for nice weather!!!
Will have a nice family meal together...gluten-free of course!

A few Labour Day Weekends ago...
My boyfriend and I were in the middle of a "Haboob" of Dragonflies!!!
They were literally banging into us....going wherever they were going!!!
It was really cool!!!
In the morning...this little guy....was on our table...
Guess he didn't make the rest of the trip with his buddies!!!
I wonder who will be visiting us...in the skies...this Labour Day??!!
Sometimes we see the planes from the CNE airshow...stalling over Lake Erie...
Waiting for their grand entrance over Lake Ontario...
