Wet Weekend Recap....

Friday wasn't too bad at the cottage...

We sat out on the beach deck until dark...which unfortunately is getting earlier and earlier...

I had quite a few Datura come up in different spots this year...Sad to say, I have not witnessed ONE bloom this year...only the befores and afters  :o(

Oh well...still lots of summer left...perhaps I will be treated to a few blooms! 

 Lots of colour still left in the old garden...

If the sun stays warm...and no frost...these will bloom for at least another month  or so! Perhaps 'til Halloween!

Baskets are still looking pretty darn good...

Love the Nicotiana!

And..of course...that gorgeous Peach Begonia ♥️

I brought out my old camera for my boyfriend to use...

AFTER he took the above of me with MY camera...

Here he is with the point and shoot!

Most of the pics were unprintable!!

Mostly of me...looking very irritated with a camera in my face!!

It was fun, though!

We stayed out long enough...

To see a few Ducks fly by...

and...

Enjoy the sunset..

And then...

It was Overnight rain...

An all day Saturday rain...

Thank goodness the Blue Jays were on FOX...

And Notre Dame on ABC...

No cable at the cottage...just whatever comes in!!

The boyfriend was happy... His 2 favorite Teams!! hahaha!

I got some crochet time in!

  I stuck my face out the kitchen door to get this shot of these beauties!

On Sunday...there was a bit of relief between the rain drops...


I got down to the beach for a few quick pictures...


Isn't that sky amazing!

Picked the lonely tomato...

A few hints of Fall...

A bit cooler today...remember last Monday????

Beautiful sunshine...lovely breeze...windows open!!

Did a grocery shop...

Have chicken soup bubbling away...so good for the soul,eh??

I have built a meatloaf...it is soaking in the flavours as we speak...

It will be baked to a delicious delicousness...

And accompanied by a Roasted Yam...

Sauteed Bok Choy for the boyfriend...

Broccolli for moi...and a sliced tomato with olive oil and avacado slices...


But...


I think for right now...

I will go and enjoy the late afternoon sun, in my lovely back yard.... 

With my boyfriend...

Ending Off Last Weekend....Just In TIme For Another!

Saturday started out beautiful...then turned cloudy...then rained...

When the kids arrived, to celebrate an early Fathers Day...we spent an hour or so inside...

Sun came out again, and we all went for a walk with Lola...

We sat on the beach deck, and then had dinner inside...

We were able to spend some more time out there after dinner...

When the kids left around 9pm, the sunset was glorious!!
 

My Zuchinni plant has flowers! Yippee!! Perhaps some wee fruit this weekend!
 

 Sunday morning was glorious...

Sunny...

Windy...

Boyfriend read his book on the beachdeck, while I got showered and cleaned up!!

We were meeting Erika and Miss V for a Fathers day dinner...

They could not make it the day before with the other kids...

We are packed and ready to leave for another weekend...

Forecast looking pretty wet for the weekend...fingers crossed we get a couple of good days!!

What a perfectly glorious day...

We ended the day with a bonfire...

As you can see by the water...the wind did a big switcheroo...

Had to put the fire out with the hose!!! 

  No fireworks, as too windy...and got very cold with the South wind...:o(

But...the beautiful weather more than made up for the disappointing winds...

We will do the fireworks next family get-together!!

Mine started very early!! 5am!!

Miss V had spent the night...and the first night in a double bed here...

She did VERY well...but I guess waking up...and being here...she came in to see us!!

No problem...down for breakfast...and played around for a while...

We will be packing the car shortly...off to the cottage...

Hope to get a few baskets planted up this weekend...and...

Wondering if it rained...and what is in bloom this week!

TO my American and British friends...enjoy your long weekend...

Why The Sleepover Was Postponed.......

 It seemed like a great idea....at the time...

Once we got there...we knew...no way!!!

It was very cold inside the cottage...

I guess 'cause the ground is still pretty frozen...

The cold seeps in from the basement...

The bedrooms were warmer...as they are on the second floor...

The sun shines in, and warms them up...

The kitchen and living room were pretty darn chilly...so...

We worked around the snow....got some much needed raking done...

Sat on the beach deck for a while...watched the Seagulls...

We put up one of the Summer screens on the sunporch, so the sun would get in there...and perhaps warm up the kitchen which is directly behind...

Next weeks weather is dipping down again...so...we'll have to wait...

A few more weeks...***sigh***...so worth the wait tho", eh?

So...I fed the birds....swept....raked...filled the truck with laundry!!!

We ate our chili at home...and pretended we were at the cottage...

Only difference....we were warm, here!
