After reviewing the photos from our Friday visit to the cottage...
I thought...
Geesh...
These are pretty darn depressing...
Should I even bother posting them??
I figure...
You gotta take the bad with the good...
We were just so darn thrilled that there was no damage from those hideous 100 km winds that week...
Thank goodness!
Hope you all had a great weekend...and you Thanksgiving people....GET BACK TO WORK!!!
Hahahaha!
Gonna get a break from the kitchen tonight...
The boyfriend and I are heading to Milestones for a delicious burger...
My very favorite eating out meal...
Darn...
I love burgers♥️
Thanks so much for all your lovely comments about Miss V...
It is deeply appreciated...Hope to have her for an afternoon this week...
My son got all the front lights up...and it looks very festive...indeed!
How are you doing with your decorating???
Got your tree yet???
Guess I'll get mine later in the week...
That is when the REAL festivities begin...
Enjoy the rest of your day...
Cheers! :o)

HI LInda. Your dwarfs look like their dreaming of warmer sunny summer days. :) It does look cold there at the cottage. It's already dipping down here this evening. And it's dark. Very dark. hehe. Have a cozy evening and enjoy that burger!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh.....so very dark here as well.... :o(
DeleteI did....and I will!
Gosh . . . Linda . . . . it's as though the lake has somehow been transported to another planet ~ much harsher and not nearly as friendly.
ReplyDeleteThe photos do serve well to show how beautiful the cottage is in Spring, Summer and Autumn months . . . . better to hibernate the rest of the winter . . . . brrr!
I did not put the Christmas Tree up last year for obvious reasons but will do so this year . . . :)
Hi Eddie...
DeleteThat is The Great Lakes for you!
Always changing....
The sky did come out rather well.....but the chill was in my bones....
Peter will love the tree......
I love your header photo ! All your photos are wonderful . We had sunshine today this afternoon but now the big dark dreary clouds are over us and they look like they are full of snow lol ! We are green here for now lol ! Glad no damage at the cottage from those awful winds last week ! Oh I like burgers to ! Have a good meal out and thanks for sharing . Have a good evening !
ReplyDeleteThanks Elaine....that is one of my favorite photos!
DeleteEnjoy your evening!
It looks incredibly cold indeed!!! No decorations here yet, too early for us just now, but they will be coming! xx
ReplyDeleteI''ll be checking on your progress.....hahaha!
DeleteWrap a scarf around those chilly dwarfs :) The clouds at the cottage looked so heavy and low. It was quite chilly today and windy. I've started decorating ... the village, part of the mantle and a bit more. Just a bit a day till it is all done.
ReplyDeleteI must remember to put those guys away! Don't want them to crack!
DeleteOh me too....got a few lights in the back....Christmas tablecloth in the kitchen.....baby steps!
It does look cold and damp but I actually really like these photos. The sky is so dramatic!
ReplyDeleteHi Jennifer.....yes, I was surprised at the blue peeking out!
DeleteEven in the drabs and grays there is still beauty to be found. Lovely pictures. And we have started putting our tree up today. Will finish it tomorrow with the great grandson here helping add ornaments! Oh, and I absolutely love a good burger too! Drooling right now.
ReplyDeleteHi Don....
DeleteSounds like fun! Will we see a picture?
Burger was gooood!
Depressing? No way! They are fabulous photos! I love seeing your cottage in the different seasons. I find something of beauty in each season!! Love the pic with the snow on the deck, and also the one with the icicles..and the feather!!!! So cold looking. Glad you had no damage!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kris
PS Enjoy your burger!!
Hahaha! Thanks Kris! I love it every way....any day....rain or shine....sleet or snow!
DeleteI have no Christmas decorations up yet. Not sure quite where to put the tree... It's an annual problem.
ReplyDeleteI like your gray cottage pictures.
And I wish you lived just a little bit closer. We could meet for lunch.
Oh Martha...I am sure it will be perfect♥️
DeleteThat would be perfect.....we will.....I just know it!
Looks just like that here...a cold drizzle today to add to the gloominess! Brrr! It was a good night for rich turkey soup!
ReplyDeleteLove the icicles!
I'll bet that soup was delicious!
DeletePerfect for this crappy weather.......
It does look cold and wintery! Well, it is cold and it is winter, so that makes them perfect!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! You are so smart Devon....can't pull the wool over your eyes!
DeleteHow is it out in BC today?
I see Red's cousin's footprints!!!
ReplyDeleteJane x
Ha! I thought that was the neighbour!
DeleteDull. Damp. Drab. Nope - I see incredible beauty. Lovely soft colours seep through each of these images and paint a beautiful story. I especially love the feather snuggled in the stones.
ReplyDeleteBurgers! I love burgers! May have mentioned this before, but there is a new place by me called South St. Burger Co. So good. And I also had a delicious one at The Burger's Priest. I love vegetarian fare... but there are days I would kill for a burger! (Too much information? - hee hee)
thanks Suzanne...I appreciate that...I didn't mean tosound grumpy...just thought the pics came across rather cold...I love it no matter what!
DeleteI try to prepare 2 meatless meals a week...one being Fish and the other usually pasta...but I do love me a burger!
Is there ever TMI???
No, you didn't sound grumpy... I was just appreciating the beauty in the grey! Plus, winter is one of my favourite seasons. I just don't like the darkness... can't wait until Dec. 21 when the days start getting a little longer. Maybe it's because I was born in winter that I like it. Autumn is my very favourite.
DeleteI love fish but I never seem to make it. I must remedy that.
Laughing at your last comment. Maybe there is... maybe there isn't! Hee hee.
I think not!!
DeleteI think the shots are pretty. But I like winter, so that's part of it too.
ReplyDeleteOh...so you and Betsy are responsible for winter, eh? hahaha!
DeleteYour photos are beautiful and very evocative Linda; I like them very much. There is quite a feeling of nostalgia in the grey tones and the empty lake and shoreline. Tree's up here, plus some decorations - little grandson visits this weekend, so I hope he enjoys it.
ReplyDeleteOh I am sure he will Patricia!
DeleteMiss V calls everything CHRISTMAS!! so cute!
Even as dull and drab as you may think these photos are - I still see beauty. I love snow and I know that sky color... but when the sun comes out... you'll be the first to see the changes in shadows. And then you'll share those photos too! "Good with the bad," by all means. Thank you for this treasure today.
ReplyDeleteI'll be making cinnamon ornaments this week. Ironing ribbon for the front porch railings. Shaping greenery to display with the ribbons. Having fun. Hope you get to see miss V this week and every week!!
Oh yummy...cinnamon ornaments! I know...not to eat, right? I also iron ribbon...makes it look fabulous!
DeleteEnjoy your week, Dixie!
Good morning, trying to catch up with you. The photos of Miss V. from the weekend are so lovely. Could she be any cuter? And I like the way that you're so mature, posting the "bad with the good" yesterday. Can I learn from you, ha, ha. After a really fun, busy weekend with our lovely out of towners, yesterday was a dental day, not that much fun. Have a good week, LSK and take care...
ReplyDeleteMorning Miss Hester...
DeleteI am all dressed...ready to sweat...and then chit chat over coffee...see you there!
I know you enjoyed your wee visitors!
