Hope you are all well...and surviving this brutally cold Winter so far...
We have been in the frigid -30c temps for weeks now...
It is supposed to break early next week...and then it will rain!
I have been keeping busy around here...Mostly Bird watching! hahaha!!
Seriously...I got Christmas packed away for another year...
And then our central vacuum went on the hummer!!
We get a new unit on Tuesday...we have had it for over 30 years, so I guess it did it's job pretty well...
We also ordered a new front door, which is supposed to come mid January...
Very excited about that...totally different look with the new door!!
Our Miss V had been away for 10 days, so we are looking forward to seeing her next weekend...and hearing her stories from her trip...
Got a delicious cake made the other day...
I had put the recipe here a few years back...Blueberry Buttermilk Breakfast Cake...but you can really use any berries you have...I used some frozen Blackberries in this one....very tasty, indeed!!
Well...it actually seems a bit brighter this evening...it is 5:10 right now...
And it really does seem brighter outside than other evenings...
Guess the longer days are starting to kick in....FINALLY!!
Knock on wood...we have not been sick...I hear that lots of people have a horrible flu, but we have been able to elude it so far...
Fingers crossed our luck continues.....
I grabbed a pic of the Moon the other night....glorious!!
I have a nice roast beef in the oven, and the house is starting to smell delicious...

Hi everyone....
Hope you are all well...it has been a crazy month around here,I'll tell 'ya!!
The tree got decorated...the presents got wrapped...
We went to Miss V's Christmas Concert...it was fantastic!
She sang her heart out...and enjoyed every single minute of it! ❤️
She got a sweet haircut...and re-arranged every present under the tree!!!
I remember my own kids doing the same thing...
I guess you all know, that it has been very snowy and cold here...
Miss V got to go out and shovel with her Papa...she loves doing it!!
I gave her a Christmas present early...her new coat!!! She loved it!! ❤️
After the shovelling...
And then lunch...
She helped me get the table set for Christmas dinner...
She just loves to help...
Really....she does!! :o)
Then some crafts...
She made place markers for the table... ❤️
Read a story with her Papa...
And we had a fire that night, that she slept over...
Such a pleasure to have this child around...
She even let us sleep in!!
She coloured in her room, until we heard her...and we all had breakfast and watched the birds together...
I managed to get the Shortbread cookies baked...
A deliciously delectable Apple Pie...
And a Key Lime gluten-free pie...no pic of that one!!
And I got Miss N's stocking made for her first Christmas!!!
She is doing very well indeed...she was here for Christmas, and everybody got to cuddle with her...
Being a preemie, it is a bit of a different schedule...but, they are coping!!
and she is thriving...which is the most important thing ❤️

Took a drive to the cottage last Thursday...
What a gorgeous day....sunny...bright...cold...snowy....Beeeutiful!!
Pristene clean snow...only a few critter tracks...loved this!!
Had some fun writing in the snow....
And in the sand....the waves came in and washed half of it away!!
On the drive home...we passed my favorite little pony farm...they were loving the sunshine...
We went to visit our DIL and new granddaughter also...
I had made them a big pot of Veggie Minestrone soup...banana bread, and a nice crusty loaf of bread...
Miss N is doing quite well at home...she has been home for a week now, and continues to gain weight and flourish...
I took a few pics, but they did not turn out very good...
But...let me tell you...she is a dollie, with gorgeous blonde hair!!!💕
Back at home here...we also had quite a lot of snow, and it has been very cold...
But today...it has been kinda rainy and drizzly, and an expected high of 5c tomorrow...that means melting snow...yucky dirty looking snow...I really liked the fresh clean snow the last week...oh well...perhaps a fresh blanket of snow for Christmas!!
We had dinner guests this past Saturday night...gave me a good excuse to make the dining room sparkle...had a wonderful time with our friends from high school!!
Miss V had a nice long visit with us , after the hospital visit to meet her cousin Miss N,but only thru the glass..
We got some decorating done...
And of course...
Some baking!!

Tomorrow we are attending Miss V's school, as she will be singing some Christmas Carols in a choir...cannot wait to see and hear that!!!
Need to bake some shortbread....apple pie....gluten free fruit crisp...
AND I WILL!!!!!! hahaha!!!
I promise to be back before the big day...
