🌟🌟🌟 Happy Dad's Day🌟🌟🌟

Happy Dad's Day to all who qualify!!!

The above photo is me and my Dad...I was 3 months old, he was home for a few months, when I was born... as he was recuperating from some stomach surgery...

To the right, is the Summer of '51...

My Mom...older brother Bill, 5 in this photo... who was, and still is ,4 years older than me!!

I love the way my Dad is fussing over me πŸ’•Unfortunately he passed away when I was 21...and he was a mere 67...my age right now...kinda scary,eh??

Okay...enough sadness....we celebrated Fathers Day Yesterday at the cottage...

All the kids came out...it was a fabulous day...hot...steamy...not too windy!

My boyfriend was so pleased with his gifts...and of course...

Miss V was a favorite visitor....for everyone!!!

The water was still too chilly...

But she NEEDED to put on her bathing suit, and her new water shoes that we had bought her!!!

She kept herself busy, collecting special sparkly rocks...

Isn't her dress cute!! Love that colour!!

And...the Jellie shoes!

Nothing like a strawberry cone to cool off when it is nice and hot!!

And a big snuggle with her PapaπŸ’›πŸ’™πŸ’œπŸ’š

She made him a very special card....

So creative!!!!!

Hoe you all enjoyed your day with your Dads...and your loved ones...and remembered our Dads who are gone.

But....

Never forgotten......ever.....πŸ’–

I'll be back in a couple of days with a few more photos from our glorious 5 days at the cottage....

GORGEOUS weather...

Looks like Summer has finally arrived..............

          Enjoy your Sunday my friends....

                          Cheers!  :o)

  1. Wonderful day at the cottage, it looks like. I love that picture of Vivian snuggling with her grandpa. Both of our kids lost out on grandpa memories because my father and my father in law both died when they were little. That's always made me sad that they never got those important grandpa times. Did you get lots of rain today? -Jenn

  4. Great photos of a fun family celebration. The card for Papa is so cute. :) Vivian certainly is growing fast; so much taller it seems. The old black and white photos are such a treasure, aren't they. I have an album of just b&w oldies and looking back on them is both heart-warming and sad. It's so nice to have them, though.

  8. I can see a resemblance between you as a little girl and the delightful Miss V. I too remember being glad to get passed the age when my mother died, it felt like a big landmark looming on the horizon at the time, but now it is long gone - she was only 60.

  10. Love the photo of Miss V snuggled in her Papa's lap. Wonderful summertime family fun! Seeing all those beautiful, smooth rocks makes me want to tell about this "new thing" where cities or neighborhoods are painting rocks and hiding them around about for others to find. We gathered rocks and bought paint, but ran out of time while the boys were here last week. I just know it will be a fun project next time they come. Miss V would enjoy that, too! blessings ~ tanna

  12. What a fun Father's Day, I'm amazed every time I visit to see Miss V growing like weed, and looking like a flower. Love the picture of her and Papa. And speaking of pictures....the ones of you and your dad and family are so precious they make me misty. My dad died at 57 and I was in my 20's. So sad me lost our dads so young. Love and Hugs
