Why The Sleepover Was Postponed.......

 It seemed like a great idea....at the time...

Once we got there...we knew...no way!!!

It was very cold inside the cottage...

I guess 'cause the ground is still pretty frozen...

The cold seeps in from the basement...

The bedrooms were warmer...as they are on the second floor...

The sun shines in, and warms them up...

The kitchen and living room were pretty darn chilly...so...

We worked around the snow....got some much needed raking done...

Sat on the beach deck for a while...watched the Seagulls...

We put up one of the Summer screens on the sunporch, so the sun would get in there...and perhaps warm up the kitchen which is directly behind...

Next weeks weather is dipping down again...so...we'll have to wait...

A few more weeks...***sigh***...so worth the wait tho", eh?

                           ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So...I fed the birds....swept....raked...filled the truck with laundry!!!
We ate our chili at home...and pretended we were at the cottage...
Only difference....we were warm, here!
                          ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hope you are all having a great day!

Did some more yard work here today...snow finally gone!

On the menu tonight...

       Spaghetti and meat sauce...rosemary bread...greek salad

Enjoy your evening....

            Cheers! :o)

  1. Sorry it got postponed, but better warm than cold! It looks as though a lot of snow has melted, but you still have quite a few icebergs out there on the lake don't you. It is amazing that it is still so cold and icy! Let's hope that it is warmer for next time. xx

  2. Better late than never I guess, but it must feel like an eternity. I did love the pictures, and the sea gulls, and especially those bold and stubborn blooms pushing and shoving there way into the sunlight. It's amazing how warm the sun can make a room... Our bedroom has a corner window, and morning sun..love it...Molly always take a nap like a cat in a square of sunlight.
    Got the oven working...so made your famous blueberry lemon zest coffee cake...used blackberries again as I didn't have blueberries. I love them but my dearest prefers black berries. It was warm and delicious with a cup of coffee...So thanks Linda. Don's taking me out tonight for a greek salad. Looking forward to it. Hugs and smiles.

  5. The warm up is going to be slow this year. It can be warm or cold here depending on which way the wind is blowing.I like it from the south, but I don't suppose that will warm up your cottage much even if you are on a different lake. Maybe some warm rains will help send that ice packing. We can always hope.

    1. Today, we were raking at the front, and it was HOT!
      We came to the back, and the wind was nipply!
      We prefer a North wind at the cottage, then it is calm....
      But a warm south breeze is very welcome in the heat of summer...

  7. What a shame, no sleepover, but it was better to be warm and toasty at home instead of chilled and frozen at the cottage. At least you got to spend the day there.
    Your lake is frozen over but not far from me (not even 5 minutes) the river is over flowing its banks and flooding the small town of Foxboro. Nature can do a lot of harm sometimes :(

  9. Oh poo! I know you have said before that there is no heat in the cottage. So, by looking at those photos alone, I can well imagine how cold it was!!! Won't be long that you can sit on your deck and soak up the sun! Great pics, as always!!

  10. 'Rosemary' likes the sound of the rosemary bread - the plants are so resilient the way they are bravely pushing through the icy ground - you are very nearly over the winter Linda♡

  14. Just think of all the warm days ahead ... flowers blooming, fires on the beach ... focus on those! That's what I'm doing because they're predicting SNOW again in Northern Michigan tomorrow. You can almost see the ground in most of our yard now; the hugs snow piles we had accumulated made you feel it would be AUGUST before they went away ... LOL Loved the pictures of Ms. V, the plants and all you share with us ... have a warm and toasty Sunday! Linda

  16. Well, that was disappointing that you couldn't sleep over at the cottage but you sure got some really beautiful photos of the water etc. Just gorgeous! Yes, I expect it would be really damp inside the cottage and just not worth getting so cold for a few hours of sleep. Brrr. Makes me chilly thinking about it. I can't believe how that huge snowdrift is down to practically nothing. The snow sure melted fast up there.

  17. Yes....damp for sure!
    Soon enough.....we will be sitting out there♥️
