Snapped these in the backyard, last Friday...
Before leaving for the cottage...
It was the first and last sun in as many days...
Cottage was soooo windy and rainy...
No outside time at all...
Some pictures of the Lake will explain why!
But for now...
My wee backyard is still looking very summery...
The pool will probably go to sleep this week...
No more beautiful aqua water to look at this year...
Oh well...
Not to worry...
time to look forward to other things...
Like Thanksgiving...can't believe it is already this weekend...are you ready??
Must get a few Autumn bits of decorating done...
Took this shot of the Moon last night...
Couldn't even see it Friday night!

I have Leek and Potato soup bubbling on the stove...
Expecting Miss V and her Mom shortly...
I have a big ham to go in the oven...scallopped potatoes...fresh carrots...

We have not seen any sun here since last Monday, when Miss V enjoyed her bike...
Yesterday...
I stuck my face out the front door...and knew I had to take some pics of my beautiful waxy begonias♥️
They are looking as perky as the day I planted them...
Such an incredibly long lasting...easy to grow...hardy...
glorious flower!
Can't say enough about them...
Do you grow them in your gardens or containers??
We are at the gate to the backyard...
The Ivy is turning RED in certain spots...how curious!
If I were take you thru the gate...you would find more wonderful waxy begonias...

The furnace is in place, but not connected yet...very excited about that!

Friday was the day the grass got cut...
Dusting was done...
Bathroom and kitchen cleaned...
Lovely dinner on the sunporch...
But...
SATURDAY...
Was the day all the fun happened...
The sun in the morning was fabulous...
Coffee...crumpet and jam on the beach deck...
Got showered...
And then...
THEY ALL ARRIVED!
My boyfriend needed to go into town...
So, he took Miss V and Erika with him...
And look what they brought back!!!
COTTAGE BIKE!
Miss V was so excited!
Alas...
No pictures of her riding it...
Next time...
Must go to the $ store and get a few accessories for it!!
Miss V and her Mom found these 2 pieces of white beach glass...
Nobody was staying for dinner...
So we stayed 'til the sun was just starting to set...
They all went home...
My boyfriend and I went to the local Fish restaurant and had a lovely fish dinner...
Missed the entire Sunset that day...
But the day spent with our kids...
Made it a perfect day ♥️
The Canada Geese's white rumps were shining in the Sunset...

Still the same lousy weather here....
Baked 4 loaves...made more jam...laundry...
Heading out to the Greek for dinner tonight...

When we first arrive at the cottage...I usually always take a picture thru the living room window...
My boyfriend gets the chairs set up...sweeps the cobwebs off...and brings the cushions to warm in the sun...
Look at that sky!
BEAUTIFUL!
And...it is only Thursday!
After our chores...
We grab a couple of beers...head down to the beach deck...
My boyfriend reads the local paper...and we just unwind...
Can you feel it??
The Seagulls and Cormorants must have found a school of fish...
They swarmed!!!
Very loud....and they even made waves on the Lake...
Lasted about 15 minutes...I had to zoom in, so picture quality not the best...
It was incredible to watch...
There were 2 Red Labs swimming...fetching their tennis ball...Again, I zoomed in...
You can see some colour on the leaves along that stretch of beach...
I love when there is a sandy beach...and calmness...
Got my feet all wet and sandy, so changed into yet another pair of flipflops...
Yes....It was another flipflop weekend....my very favorite kind♥️
The next photo shows the sunset hitting my feet...and the basket of flowers...
We retire to the sunporch around 5:30 now...as the sun is getting so low in the sky...
As we sat there...waiting for dinner to cook...I had to run down...and capture the sunset...
And remember....
This is still Thursday....3 more days to go!!!

To put all this CRAPPINESS behind us...
I think CRISPY is the word to describe dinner tonight...
CRISPY diced roasted potatoes...
CRISPY juicy and tender oven roasted pork loin chops
CRISPY sauteed mushrooms and onions...
TENDER fresh yellow beans...buttered and peppered...YUMMY!
And I think some gravy is in order too!!
