Beachy Bits & Bobs....

enjoying the Milk Weed Flowers...

Silver Dollar plant turning colors...soon they will be transparent!!

I noticed a Robins nest on the beach...in a tree...a few weeks ago...

I captured the Mom sitting on the eggs...

The Babies looking for food...

Then...the nest was empty....:o[

Never fear...

One of the chicks had made it as far as some of our kindling...

He/She sat there for hours...no sign or sound of Mom...

Later in the afternoon, my boyfriend decided to move him closer to the nest...

He donned his gloves...starting to reach for the chick...and Mom came flying!!!

Dive bombing my boyfriend!!

She came out of nowhere....the chick scurried down the beach...following her

sounds...and he was huddled under the tree...

Hopefully a happy ending...lots of Turkey vultures around!!

tiny village still standing...

never a shortage of seagulls!

Had a great weekend...lots of visitors...

Hot and humid...rough and windy...no pedal boat for us!!

Hope you all had a great weekend...

Miss V is napping...then we will go to the park...or sit in the pool...

What ever her little ♥️ desires....♥️♥️♥️

Still hot and humid here...supposed to break...AGAIN... tomorrow!!

Nicer weather ahead...

Enjoy the rest of your day...and have a great week!!

Cheers!   :o)

  2. With the winters y'all have, it's hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that it gets hot and humid there. My Lord, it's like a steam bath here. I even broke out in a sweat in Target. It was awful....I was afraid the people might think I was about to break out into an epileptic fit and start looking for a spoon to put in my mouth. Lol!

Love your birds. I have 2 babies in a nest in one of my ferns. I'm so proud of them!

Ok, check ya later. Hope you get some relief from the H& H. I won't be looking for any here until October.

Kinda sad sometimes...that we study American History and Geography in school here...but The Americans know very little about its neighbour!! And a pretty darn BIG neighbour at that!! Michigan is further North than where we live...ok..enough with the geography lesson!!
Love baby birds...so ugly and yet so cute!!
      Have a great week Laurie!!

  9. Ooh, look at that sparkling water on the lake - so inviting, Linda. Looking at the baby birds is so delightful, and I am glad mother bird was nearby. Baby looks a bit nervous, but in a few days it will take off, I expect. Love your tiny village so much, I always want to make one too!

  15. Love the nest photos today. I have not found one nest on our property all summer but I know that squirrels and chippies have nested in our trees and wood-pile. I hope next year to have birds use the houses. That was nice of the boyfriend to try to help the fledgling. But you know how moms can be. lol We are still waiting on rain here. Not a drop for days.
