Ok....back to business.....
Everything here is great....weather hot...unbelievable!
Here are a few photos to keep you busy! Hahaha!
We went to our very favourite restaurant again last night!
The Salt Rock Grill in Indian Shores...right up the street....we can walk!
The Grouper Chowder there is soooooo tasty, but last night we opted for the Firecracker Tuna....
Mouth watering....so tender....with such a unique taste....highly recommend this appetizer!
They always serve hot sour dough bread, with their signature olive oil/herb dip....
Soooo good....I have replicated it a few times.
We eat at the outdoor bar...alongside the Intercoastal waterway....
A couple of beers....a couple of appetizers....lots of bread...and that is dinner!
Then....we walk back along the beach....in the sunset!
Man oh man....are we ever spoiled!
Boyfriend found this wee Soldier....how cute is that?
Managed to snip a few more flowers to make a small....but colourful....bouquet!
Mr Moon is back, and putting on quite a display....hope to get a few more shots, as he gets bigger all week....
We leave on Saturday am....can hardly believe it is almost over!
But....Miss V is waiting at the other end for us...π
Some of them are HUGE!
The Sunsets never disappoint....
Even when a big cloud rolls in...the beauty is awesome!
We went to a Toronto Blue Jays game last week....MAN, WAS IT HOT! π
As you can see we had excellent S seats....unfortunately they lost...π
Did I mention how hot it was?
I am still cooking up a storm....my choice, by the way.
Good restaurants are few and far between down here...unless you just want to stuff your face!
I made Cajun/panko coated chicken tenders with asparagus and home fried taters....
The leftover chicken, was made into a rice and sautΓ©ed veggie dish...
With my Greek Salad....
Both meals were delicious....AND....healthy,too!
I will most likely finish this before we start the drive home.
Loves to take in the sunsets too!
I made fish tacos one night....I made up a sour cream/mayo/relish/hot sauce for them....
With all the chopped veggies, they were really good....π
***********************************************
Hope you are all well....
Thanks for coming along for the trip...
Enjoy your new week ahead....
Cheers! :o)
What a nice post, Linda. So much colour and you know we lack it here. It was -22C this morning and up to -2C by afternoon. Tomorrow into the +. Crazy weather. Love the little bouquet. So pretty. You should open up a little restaurant down there. I think it would be much appreciated. "Well, hello kitty."
ReplyDeleteBrrrrrrr...not sure if I am ready for the cold!
DeleteIsn't he a cute kitty?
Yum. You food looks so scrumptious! Food just tastes better in the warm weather, eaten while looking at the ocean! haha. And I often order an appetizer for my meal if we are out....especially if it's a super yummy one that I really love. Why not? And bread with dipping oil is just the best!
ReplyDeleteStill loving that sailboat photo....that is frame worthy!
For sure Betsy....love dining outside!
DeleteYes...the appetizer hits the spot!
I just may have that photo blown up, when I get home!
What a nuce life, sitting in the sun!
ReplyDeleteHi Furry!
DeleteYes...I am spoiled....
Mmmmm, your Cajun panko chicken tenders look yummy!
ReplyDeleteThey were delish!
DeleteWhat a treat this must be for both of you . . .
ReplyDeleteSunshine, beach time, good food, long walks, moon lit nights . . .
Wonderful . . .
The time has flown by . . .
Bet Miss V is counting the days till your return.
Safe travels . . .
Hi Lynne...
DeleteWe speak with her on the phone. Few times a week...she will be coming for a sleepover, a few days after we get homeπ
Great pictures and oh my yum. All that food does look good.
ReplyDeleteHi Ivy....
DeleteCooking my heart out down here...enjoying the sun, too!
So great. We have mud here though odd days of really warm mixed with snow. I don't know what Mother Nature is thinking, but it's been a mild winter overall.
DeleteIt was mild before we came South...hoping for an early Spring!
DeleteYou and your boyfriend are definitely living the good life!
ReplyDeleteGood for you and your pictures are, as always, gorgeous and your meals are Food Network worthy. Enjoy your remaining time away and safe travels home.
HI Barbara....thanks for stopping by...hope you are well.
DeleteWhat a treat to enjoy your holiday with you Linda. Your meals look so colourful and delicious, who would want to go out? The skies are gorgeous there, aren't they. I had a smile about your little bouquet, because they are all the flowers we have here over the summer, because they are the only ones which can cope with the heat. I guess that means we are in a similar latitude on the other side of the Equator :)
ReplyDeleteLove making small bouquets....ain't Nature grand?
DeleteEnjoy your week Patricia!
You are certainly packing a lot into yours holiday and are blessed with good weather. If it wasn't for Miss V I doubt weather you would want to come home . . . lol
ReplyDeleteShame about the Blue Jays.
Those sunset piccies are fabulous and love the heron and other shots.
Finding a soldier model on the beach is a great improvement on last year's false teeth . . hahah. I wonder what next year will bring!!
Talking of teeth I had a wisdom tooth removed on Saturday ~ hope I don't lose any wisdom . . settling down well and recovering. . . :)
Wish we had your weather.
HI Eddie....
DeletePerhaps you could use those uppers! Hahaha!
Having dental work is no fun....feel better!
lol . . . . uppers would not fit . . . my tooth was lower left right at the back . . . hahaha! See what you can find on the beach . . . :)
DeleteYes I feel a lot better with no pain at all which is a contrast from the impacted wisdom tooth I had removed at hospital when they put me out. That was the same night that Muhammid Ali fought George Foreman and I felt like I was in the ring with both of them and my chin was swollen for weeks . . . lol . . you might say I am a tough old boot . . lol
I would never say that!
DeleteThat meal and outdoor patio and walk along the beach back home sounds like a devine experience! I love that little soldier - reminds me of the army guys in Toy Story. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteHi Jenn.....yes! Loved that movie!
DeleteYes, you two are spoiled... in all the very best ways!! I believe in direct proportion to ways to love and appreciate your life. ;) Girl, I'd take your cooking over eating out any day!! YUM!! Awesome cook! Gorgeous afghan! Don't you find that time just FLIES past at this point? Enjoy this last week. blessings and hugs ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteHi Tanna....
DeleteThanks so much...always such kind words...counting down the days...happy to be getting home....is that crazy?
Such a beautiful sunny and yummy post , I felt like I was there with you . Glad you are having a nice time and great weather . Thanks for sharing , Have a good week !
ReplyDeleteThanks Elaine....be home soon!
DeleteSafe drive home after a gorgeous time down south. I bet Miss V will have lots of hugs and kisses for both of you.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to those....for sure!❣
DeleteYour picture of the two chairs and the sailboat is stunning! The colours are beautiful....you should paint!! Looks like you are eating well and enjoying the plentiful flowers! I think this is the best weather you have had down there for a couple of years. You will be sad to be heading home but, you got a wee gal that will be waiting and anxious to see you. I would bet you did some shopping for her. Drive safely....hopefully spring will be here when you return....bring some warm weather with you!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoying everything Ann....greatest weather ever!
DeleteNot too much shopping....really...hahaha!
I will bring the sun for sure!
Such yummy, delightful, picturesque and cheery photos! I love the thought of enjoying the restaurant down the street, eating on the intercostal, then walking home. Cute photo of you enjoying our Blue Jays, even though they lost. :( It must have been in Dunedin, which I think is pretty close to where you are? Enjoy this week and take care...
ReplyDeleteYes...Dunedin...only about a 1/2 hour North...a nice drive....thru some ritzy neighbourhoods!
DeleteStill cold up there?
Oops, wanted to edit, not remove my reply. Warming up, tomorrow +11 but rainy. And clocks will move ahead this weekend, just in time for your return. π
DeleteSounds good....will have Miss V for a few days on March break...π
DeleteWea re just like you..eat in..why leave the beautiful sunsets for way to much food..way too much..Plus I like my wine looking at the sunset and J does too..
ReplyDeleteM is in Disney w/ Noah:) Hope the weather stays beautiful..
I find every sunset is different and chairs and boats and umbrellas dotting the shore.so beautiful..your afghan too..I see twinkle toes watched the Blue Jays..honestly..I would just be looking at my toes..the only sport I watch is the sport my grandsons are playing at any given time:)
You know what? Maybe you should pick up a little travel watercolor set:)I bet you would enjoy it so much.
Sometimes Home Goods has a little craft section and you can find there..under $10.00..
And..if that doesn't work out for you..you could be an astrologer!:)
Have a great day!
YES! I am the same! Must be here for the Sunset! No matter what!
DeleteBoyfriend bought me a painting kit one Christmas....paints,brushes,canvasses...I tried...I am not good!
Perhaps I will try again....hmmmmmmm....π€
You have a great day!
Linda- we were just in FL and I am home now and missing the sea-salt air and beautiful weather. When our home sells I hope to make FL my home for the winter months. I loved your pictures...each one is beautiful---xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThat would be great Diana...what part of Florida?
DeleteOh goodness, Linda...please forgive me for missing so many posts. I've followed along on IG but my blogging is terrible of late. I scrolled down and caught up on your posts.
ReplyDeleteNow---those shore birds. You have to know I've been pulling your leg asking what is what! I'm not so good with identifying our feathered friends but this was fun. I will say that in a very blonde moment while in Mexico, I saw a pelican whiz by me as I stood on the balcony of our hotel. I ran into the room screaming, "There are dinosaurs here!!!" Hubby had a great time sharing this story!
Love that you cook...local stores have as fresh fish as the restaurants. Your meals sound scrumptious! We have a full kitchen at our place in Asheville. We might have a bagel or English muffin for breakfast, an appetizer for lunch and a nice dinner out. Or...we switch things to a nice big lunch and a home cooked meal in the evening. We have to hit the market every day so we don't have too much and have to toss it when we leave.
You are making me long for a warm sunny vacation near the ocean. We are wanting to invest in another condo/rental and found a place in Destin, FL, that sounded to good to be true. It feel through. But hubby has his feelers out. We'll see.
Saturday will arrive quick. Know you are dying to bundle that Miss V up in your arms. Makes you anxious, right? Oh, are you stopping in Chicago for a bit? Or Michigan? I'd love it! :)
Jane xxx
No worries Jane...thanks for stopping by... See the Pelican! Hahaha!
DeleteI am going to email you....
Oh my ~ what wonderful beach/bird photos. The food looks so yummy. Trying to get back in the swing of things and my routines.
ReplyDeleteWelcome home Wanda....will stop over and see you!
DeleteThose meals look so good! Lovely colour and variety.
ReplyDeleteLaughing at the first shot... I guess he is the black "sheep" of the family.
Hello Kitty! You look very comfy in the sun.
Oh... yes... you did mention it was hot. More than once! :-)
Hot? Hot is good. Yep that sure is one handsome fella.
