We got out to the cottage Saturday before lunch...
What a pleasure to see a calm...if not kind of cloudy sky at the lake...
The day brightened as it went along...
A few things were in bloom...but not as much as I had thought there would be...
Still lots of Tulips to come...
My son...for Christmas.... gave me this really cool log carving of a Pelican!!
We finally got him down to the lake...and in a nice cozy spot...
He kinda smiles at you while you are sitting on the beach deck! hahaha!!
The shot of him...that I took from inside, gives a much better idea of just how much like a Pelican he really looks!!
Pretty cool,eh???
As the evening approached...the sky became very cloudy, and the darn wind kicked up!!
Thanks goodness we did not light the bonfire, as we had talked about!!
We would have been smoked out!!
But...as the sun was setting...the sunset was incredible!!
Absolutely stunning......
Sunday was very sunny...the wind changed its mind a few times...but we managed to enjoy the sunshine...
We had some surprise visitors...and we couldn't have been happier!!!
Here is Miss V signing my guest book...she drew a lovely picture of her and me in the gardens... ♥️♥️♥️
Threw rocks...she played "BONG" ball with her Papa...and she showed us how she has learned to skip at school!!!
We came home on Monday afternoon....
Time for laundry...groceries...etc...
We are heading back in the morning...after we visit Miss V at school, and watch her receive The Principal's Award!!!! She is so excited...hopefully I can take a few pics!!
Hope you are all well...and enjoying the nice weather...in between the nasty weather!!
Raining and damp today...but supposed to be nice for the next few days...
Baked cajun Cod and homemade oven fries with zuchinni and greek salad for dinner...
Enjoy your week everyone...
Cheers! :o)
linda ♥️

Always love going to the cottage with you, Linda! Looks like spring has arrived there. You are right, that sunset really was gorgeous with those amazing pinks and purples. Miss V is so darling - how can you stand it? That little upturned nose......we are still dealing with rain here, breaking all records, but you wouldn't believe how green everything is. Still.....it's getting old!!! Hope you have a little sunshine for your weekend. xx Karen
ReplyDeleteHI Karen....I know what you mean about the rain! Your part of the world is looking very lush!

Enjoy your weekend!
I'm glad the sun came out for you...it makes it feel much warmer than the actual temps. I just love looking at your lake pictures...nothing on the horizon! It's so nice that you had some visitors, I love having them as much as I do the peace and quiet. Miss V is making wonderful memories at the cottage.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the pelican! We have a concrete one at the end of our dock. And your home looks so inviting. Are you completely opened up for summer? Memorial Day is the official Opening Day at our lake. Our boat has been brought back from storage at the marina, now we just have to clean it up as well as all of the toys. My guest house is a mess after not being used for 2 years. Lots of dead bugs and webs. That's my project this weekend. Going for 4 days...finally a break. Cold rainy weather predicted but that's okay for a few walks and maybe some fiddling in the garden.
I'm feeling okay, thank you for asking on IG. I'm still sleeping long hours but I feel more energy when I'm awake. Coffee helps!!
Have a wonderful weekend, Linda!
Jane x
We are close Jane...the season starts here in May 24 long weekend...
DeleteWinter shutters still up...took one down this week. Once they are down, the sunporch springs to life.
Why not get someone in to clean the guest house? Might be easier....
Enjoy your 4 days...I will look for pictures!
So lovely to be reading your posts from the cottage once again! It always makes me feel that spring is here!
ReplyDeleteAlmost here Amy...up and down weather!
