Bits & Bobs From Victoria Day Weekend......
We spent 4 1/2 days at the cottage last week...
The picture above is actually of the Sun rise!!!
I had been downstairs...and grabbed this at about 6am!!!
The weather could have been better...but we always make the most of our time there...
I did get to the Nursery...didn't go crazy...YET!!!...I think I need to go back!!
I did get all my veggies planted...anxious to see how they did with all the rain!!
The real fun started on Saturday...when Miss V and her Mom arrived...
She actually asked me if I had brought "her" camera...and off we went!!
She headed for the beach first...and got a shot of her old Nana following behind!!!
She also took a great picture of the new planter...ferns...and gazing ball...
Later on...after she had made a few sand castles...she got a shot of them!!
A chip off the old block for sure!!!!
Boyfriend got this shot of my son and I...♥️
You can see it was sunny....but the brisk wind made it kinda chilly...
We move around and find the warmest spots...
Hope you are all well....
Stayed home til tomorrow, as it rained very hard all day long...
Hope you all have a great weekend...and to my American friends...
Happy Memorial Day weekend...
Cheers! :o)

Your gardens are spectacular! We are just getting things going here. I planted red sunflowers and zinnias about an hour ago. Also have the gladiolus in. Now fingers crossed that it doesn't rain all summer like it did last year. ☀️
ReplyDeleteThanks Barbara...I try hard!
DeleteLots of rain here this year....
Loved all the pictures and looky there, I saw toes.
ReplyDeleteHave a most excellent weekend and boogie boogie.
I did! Thanks Ivy!
DeleteI love how happy Miss V is with her camera. Her pictures are very nice! I love the sand castles adorned with the glass pebbles (is that what they are called??). Hee!
ReplyDelete4 whole days, and with family. Fun! I can imagine the cold that blows in from the lake. The temps downtown along Lake Michigan are usually at least 10 degree colder than the outlying areas. Sometimes I feel the advantages of living on a bay is that we are protected from the wind quite a bit, and subsequently, the boats don't rock and bang against the the dock or buoys. We are connected to the rest of the lake by an inlet. When I stand on my balcony on the other side of the house, I look at the lake and the wind is quite strong most days. Big difference. Goodness in both for sure.
You look so healthy and tan! If it would ever warm up here and stop raining I might plant a flower or two add 100 more freckles to my nose!!!
Have a great weekend! Happy Victoria Day.

It must be nice in the bay...the wind kinda gets to us too! But....it is a Great Lake!

Be still my heart - a cardinal perched in a heart-shape feeder!! How gorgeous is that...
ReplyDeleteThe talented Miss V is now a contributing photographer on the blog, and her work is Good! What fun to take pictures of each other; you two will have years of good times at the cottage. Lovely to have the family and be there for almost a week. Happy Victoria Day. Do you make a Victoria sponge cake? My DD always does, now she lives Over There.
Yes she is Patricia...she gets better all the time!

I am overwhelmed by how beautiful your garden is. I could just walk around and look at things all day. Miss V is becoming quite the photographer. It's a great hobby to have. I'm glad you encourage her the way my family did me. Hope you had a happy Victoria Day.

Beautiful photos Linda and Miss V, and the Boyfriend. :) The weather is the pits here too. Victoria Day weekend was quite nice and at least it was sunny and warmish for most of it. We had a nice sunny afternoon yesterday but this week is unsettled again. My plants are in the garage, all potted and ready to set out. I hope the weather shifts soon to summer temps! Have a good week Linda.
ReplyDeleteHi Pam...
DeleteSame here Pam...up and down weather and temps...wish things would settle into a pattern...

Love Miss V and that camera! She's a natural just like her Nana. :)

Tons of beach glass!

ReplyDeleteCan't wait to get out and about to take some, although I have not been able to log into IG for almost two weeks. Keep getting an error message. Urgh.
She certainly enjoys taking pictures!

You mean the Cardinal? Hahaha!
DeleteElusive? No...just darn busy...having a great time over on IG!
Hope you are well....
Hi Linda...nice post, once again. Always nice to see your flowers, Miss V and the charming cottage. Can you believe the rain and the mosquitoes? I can only spend a short time in the gardens and then I run. You asked how much property we have. We have 2 acres (a front piece)that are mine and then there is a lot of my grandmothers' open land behind us that is owned by my cousin. We have access for walking our grand-dog there and just hiking around. A lot of my grandmother's property is bush and there is no access to it by road. That part is now owned by another group of relatives. Our piece is surrounded by a stone wall that my ancestors built.:)
ReplyDeleteHi Deb...we noticed a lot at the cottage...very unusual for down there.
DeleteThe property must hold many lovely memories for you...
