The robins have been plentiful...especially with the wet gardens!!
You can see the rain drops on his head...and he scooted under a Juniper for some shelter...
And the Wind....gosh...very gusty...you can see his fathers blowing!!
While Mrs Cardinal admired herself in one of my many garden mirrors...
Mr Cardinal did some preening in a nearby Pear tree...about to bloom!!
It seems like it has been raining for days and days...well...I guess it has!!
Everytime it is not going to rain...
We head down to the cottage...and enjoy some sunshine and some outdoor time...
This past Wednesday was a glorious day...
I am sifting thru my photos...and will share soon...
Hope that your homes are not in any danger from the rising water...
Stay dry my friends!!!
And not to forget the 2 birthdays we just celebrated...

What a wonderful post. You are really a fantastic photographer! I think your pictures are phenomenal. What a lovely, lovely family you have and I love the shot of the kids outside the Mexican restaurant with the balloons. Just precious.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful (though be it rainy) weekend...enjoy your soup, scallops and lamb chops! xo Diana
Thanks so much Diana...much appreciated!
DeleteGreat photos of the birds, Linda. Those robins are such chubby little things. I presume it's Ryan that turned 40. "Happy Birthday, Ryan." Great shot of your girls, too. We are in for three days of rain as I think you are, too. Geesh...eh!
ReplyDeleteYes...Ryan is 40...can hardly believe it!! My eldest daughter is 43 and youngest will be 38 in the fall...geesh...where does the time go!!
DeleteGreat photos, Linda! Happy birthday to all!
ReplyDeleteThanks Laurie...same to you!!
DeleteHappy Birthday, kids! :)
ReplyDeleteWet here, too! Rained all day yesterday and today! So cold, too! Had to find my slippers.
Yes...cold and wet here again today!!!!
DeleteHappy Birthday. Great shots.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ivy...happy weekend!!
DeleteYour family is beautiful, Linda. I know it means a lot to get together...at least for me, all of us in one place!
ReplyDeleteLove your bird pics. Your robins are chubbier and a bit more colorful than the ones we have around here. So cute! You really capture birds so well. Do you really have mirrors your garden?
We had rain and gloom up until Thursday but it's still in the 50's. It was sort of fun being at the lakehouse last weekend with all the thunder and lightening. The rain blew sideways and I couldn't see out the windows! Now if it were summer I would have been afraid of a tornado and not nearly as thrilled! At the lake now...my work is done for now. I need to get out and work on my gardens but I'm not rushing. Plan to take the dogs on long walks tomorrow!
Pics and recipes, please!
Jane
Yes...it was fun...and I didn't have to cook! hahaha!!
DeleteTons of mirrors in the garden here and at the cottage...we look for them when we are thrift shopping...
Rainy and gloomy here too...enough already!! Your lakehouse looked fabulous on IG... you are very lucky!!
Pics soon...not really recipes...

Have a great weekend..needless to say rainy here too..
I found when I froze the bone...it got kinda mushy...watery...so now I make it a few days after we have the Ham...this batch was particularly delicious!!
DeleteHave fun in NY....
Two springs ago we had the same never-ending kind of rain. It wears on you after awhile. LOVE the photos of your birthday celebrations!! Makes my heart smile! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteYes...wearing pretty darn thin right now!!
DeleteBirthdays are fun!!
Update:
ReplyDeleteBright sunshiny day here . . .
Yippee-i-o . . .
Good for you Lynne...I hope you enjoyed it! ☀️
DeleteStill raining here....☔️
I love the cardinal pictures! You are so talented and have such a good eye for pictures! I could definitely use a day without rain!! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenn!! Perhaps we will get some sun later in the week...
DeleteAnd the rain keeps coming ☔️๐ง
ReplyDeleteThe birds are loving the squishy ground and finding all the bugs. Everything is so green, I'm sure we are watching the wanna be grass grow and grow.
A bit if a wet basement, but not as bad as some near by. Flooding, road closures, ferry stopage, cancelled events, sandbags available for those that need them.
I want some of that hot weather in Alberta ๐
Lovely and green here too...but soggy!
DeleteWe will get our turn soon Linda...
Love your bird photos, but your family pics are my favourite. Rain couldn't keep me back from my trek to my daughter's yesterday, always worth the long drive. Keep warm and dry this weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a good Mom you are Hester...to drive thru the rain to see your grandkids...
DeleteHoping for sunnier skies soon!!
I am staying warm....and dry!
Rain makes everything so green and lush, and I don't mind being out in it if dressed properly. But... I do miss the sun!
ReplyDeleteSeveral friends of mine are dealing with flooding basements. In my family home we used to deal with that, too, as we backed onto a ravine. Was not fun!
Hope you are safe and dry. Your menu sounds so delicious. Can't wait to eat regular food again!
The flooding is sure scary...
DeleteYou sound like things are looking up for you! Glad to hear it!
I fake it well. :-)

DeleteWonderful photos Linda ! I think like us the birds have had enough of this rain even more so as I can imagine how wet and chilled they must be poor things . We are staying warm and dry . It is to be drying out and we will be getting sunshine as of tomorrow Sunday and warmer temps for the best part of the week here YIPPY !!. Thanks for sharing , Have a good rest of the weekend !
ReplyDeleteThanks Elaine...looking forward to some sun this week!
DeleteGosh it does sound wet over there, and are there floods in the offing?? The birds are the sweetest, just doing their thing, he he. Your family photos are great, framers in fact. Look at little Miss V in her skinny jeans - how did she grow up so fast?
ReplyDeleteLots of flooding Patricia...all along Lake Ontario...Ottawa and into Quebec. And the Maritimes too!!
DeleteWe are lucky where we live...
She is growing in leaps and bounds...
The good thing about the rain is that I don't have to water the chickens.

ReplyDeleteLove all of the birds!
xo Kris
Hi Kris....thanks for dropping by!
DeleteHope you are well....๐
Just breathtaking pictures of your rainy day birds. So awesome. Happy Birthday fun, and darling family. Can't wait to see your meals...they sound wonderful. I've never done lamb chops...looking forward to seeing yours. We had thunder and rain today. I got cold, so turned on the oven and made scones and cookies..now I'm warm and full.. HaHa.
ReplyDeleteI love being warm and full!
Deleteenjoy your week Wanda!
Great photos of the robins and cardinals. We had a pair of robins nest building in the hemlock tree but I haven't seen them the past few days. I hope all is well at the cottage and no high water along the shore. Maybe it hasn't affected that area like around TO. Such terrible flooding everywhere. xo Pam
ReplyDeleteI am sure that the rivers around there...like The Grande River...will have some flooding...but the cottage was AOK!
DeleteEnjoy your week...
Love the bird shots, Linda. Your robins look like Jumbo Jets compared to our dainty little things . . :)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthdays to them . . . :)
Hi Eddie!
DeleteI love your little British Robins ❤️
