Last Friday was a PD day for Miss V...which is great with us!! We got to have her for the whole day...a sleepover and a trip to the cottage on Saturday!!
After her bike ride with her Papa, she got busy on raking up the few leaves that were left here at home...
After that...the baking began...
We made a loaf and 6 cupcakes...she allotted one raspberry and 2 chocolate chops to each cupcake!
After lunch, she iced one cupcake and added some sprinkles!!
After that, she put together a craft I had picked up for her at Michael's....a Snowman door hanger...she was very quick at making this!!
We were at the $ store, and then at the mall...Santa's Village was all set up, but no Santa yet...she also wanted to ride the escalator with me...
Friday night we had a fire, and watched a few Christmas shows...
In the morning, we got ready, and headed out to the cottage to meet Uncle Ryan, and put up the last porch shutter...the weather was 10c, but very dark and damp...the beach was quite eroded, from the brisk winds last week...Miss V tried to make a sand castle, but the sand was full of pebbles and kinda soggy!!
She does love the beach though!!
As you can see above, all of the Maple leaves are down...looks pretty bare, eh??
But...the Birch I planted at the road side, is still looking pretty fine with her yellow leaves hanging on...
I was lucky enough to find 2 treasures on the beach that day...
A very large piece of blue beach glass...
And a heart shaped stone...
The Milkweed on the beach, was putting on a great show...
Tiny rain droplets on the silk...
Love finding these to photograph...
For some reason, I did not have as many volunteers on the beach this year...
The sun tried to come out...but only peeked thru the thick clouds...
We were hardly out of the driveway, when I looked back at Miss V...đ
She was out like a light for about 45 minutes...With her gloves and toasty vest on...such a sweetie...love when they get all tired out from running around and having fun...
We delivered her home safely to her Mommy...they were happy to see each other đ
Hope you are all well...enjoying the last of Fall...and to my American friends, hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend...I am sure you are all decorating for Christmas now!! I must get started myself...think I will start with my staircase...that always gets me in the spirit...
I have not done any shopping...just been crocheting a few things for the kids...
Lots of time....right??? hahaha!!
Enjoy the rest of your week...
Cheers! :o)

I like Miss V's black-and-red "lumberjack checks" coat -- so Canadian!
ReplyDeleteEveryone does! Very cute!
DeleteI love our visits with Miss V. Glad you had some extra time with her last week. The heart stone is gorgeous and I did notice the gloves. :)=^..^= Your cottage is sweet no matter what the weather. Today is our baby's 30th bday. I.feel.old. haha! Looking forward to seeing your home decked out for the holidays, Linda. hugs
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely comment Deb....thanks so much!
DeleteBirthday wishes to your "baby"...đ
I think I would be tired after that busy day too! Glad you had a fun time together.
ReplyDeleteNana was pooped too! Hahaha!
DeleteLittle Miss Christmas:) You know she will be the reason for the season apart from you know who:)
ReplyDeleteI used to love when the Littles fell asleep in the car and their heads would be sooo leaning to one side..
lucky to sleep like Miss V and bÊbÊs!
Her head was bobbing from side to side! We laughed, but we shouldn't...love her!
DeleteLoved seeing the cottage in the fall. So different from the beauty of the summer, fall has its own beauty. Miss V had a busy day. No wonder she fell asleep in the car. So sweet.
ReplyDeleteWe do love that place...think we will close down this weekend...another beautiful year in the books!
DeleteWhat a fun long weekend V had with you! Love the 2 chips and one raspberry...haha...looks like little faces!
ReplyDeleteKind of warm here...tree up but that's it....although I'm almost done with the shopping. I started a few weeks ago to get that out of the way. Need to start my annual big gift basket order and some party planning. Can't believe December is here...crazy, crazy! T & L are coming for a week before Christmas so I need to get my rear in gear and have things done before then...goodness! haha..... Wish I could crochet....looks so fun!
Good for you with the shopping...your tree looks gorgeous! I got the staircase done today...
DeleteI am surprised you don't crochet! Easy peasey...
What a lovely time with Miss V. I felt like I was right there along with you!

Hi Diane....
DeleteWe sure had a busy fun time...thanks for stopping by!
I love the beach glass and the heart shaped rock. Cute picture of her asleep- funny, I can look over and see my 16 year old asleep in the car, too! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteHahaha! They are never too old, eh??
DeleteLove the photos of the beach treasures, the cupcakes and especially the one of you and Miss V. in the mall. You look soo happy! Hmm, that mall does look familiar. And such a cute "lumber jack" jacket. Have a nice rest of the week...
ReplyDeleteSheridan Mall...we never go there, but Metro had something on sale!! SO sad how empty it is...
DeleteHow cute, Miss V is so organised she counts out the chocolate drops. She will be a great cook. The beach treasures are so sweet and I'm glad you can still go to the cottage as the weather gets cold. Yellow beech tree is soooo pretty. Now I am in competition with you for a short time: yesterday we rode the escalators with Mr Four, and today he feel asleep on the way home after a great time visiting the dinosaurs at the museum. We are loving it!
ReplyDeleteOh yes...enjoy Patricia!!
DeleteI love Miss V's hat. Did you make it?
ReplyDeleteYup!!
DeleteYou two ladies always make me smile! I especially love the photo of you both. Yay on those special beach finds. Our Thanksgiving was wonderful. I'm trying to get the energy to do some Christmas decorating. Why are these holidays so close together??
ReplyDeleteJane
Our Thanksgiving is in early October...perhaps TRUMP will change that! hahaha!
DeleteYour Christmas will be extra special this year...the Lake House, and a new baby!
Miss V looks so sweet in action and in repose. Love her clothes.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, big piece of beach glass. And the heart... aw.
Don't think there will be decorating for me this year, for a number of reasons, but I hope to enjoy other homes that I'm invited to.
Love that photo of the cottage and the maple silhouettes. Beautiful.
Her Mom sure dresses her nice...
DeleteHope you are mending Suzanne...must be tough for you...
I guess the cottage looks beautiful no matter what!

DeleteYou two 'girls' enjoy great and precious times together
ReplyDeleteWe sure do Rosemary!!
DeleteGreat that you could have her for a good while . . . I know she means the world to you.
ReplyDeleteSue and I had little Rosa here yesterday and her granddaughter Iris, Peter's girlfriend aged 3, lol. At one point I was looking after them both while S took a a dog for a walk . . . quite funny trying to get Rosa to sleep whilst playing with Iris . . . but I managed it ok and she slept for an hour. They are coming again on Thursday to see Peter and moi and we shall play monsters and dinosaurs . . . :)

Hey Linda! We had a good Thanksgiving Day, but lost two family members the day before. It was a sad time. Funeral Saturday, Memorial Service Monday.
ReplyDeleteI haven't started decorating yet, but hopefully by this weekend for sure. I love that last photo of Miss V. She looks exhausted. What did you do to her? HaHa!
