The cottage flowers are coming along nicely...
Even after all that rain...they still needed a drink when I arrived last Wednesday...
These spectacular Tulips had their grand finale...
And...I must say...they did it in style...how beautiful is that???
We were fortunate enough to be able to have our dinners on the sunporch...
One night we had BBQ'D chicken thighs...corn...baked potato...
That is where we sit...see the 3 large screens on the left???
There are 4 other screens surrounding the sunporch...and a glass door to the inside...a screen door to the outside...and a huge window that opens wide up to the kitchen...it faces the water, but the west is to the left, so the sun pours in just before sunset...
Love it out there...I mean LOVE it out there...♥️
This is our view to the right....
I always try to have something fresh from the gardens...
These are from my Snowball Bush...
And I do believe there was a lovely scent as well...
I bought a few houseplants for the sunporch...
They do very well in there....
This meal started with a few sauteed veggies...lamb chops on the BBQ...a few grilled potatoes and a greek salad...I always add avacado to mine...
One chop is enough for me...boyfriend is the real meat eater!!!
We finally got the beach deck painted last Thursday...
And...when I say "we"...I use that term very loosely...hahaha!!
I am the main painter....boyfriend is like my "assistant"...
I need to paint the edges first...and work my way carefully to not get trapped...
As you can see by the "before" photo below...it was in pretty bad shape...
Pay no attention to the guy painting in this picture.....hahaha!!!
He is merely painting the edge of the deck, that butts up against the concrete wall...
Just joking of course....but...I AM THE PAINTER!!! hahaha!!
Looks pretty darn good,eh?????
No applause necessary....{taking a bow here}
Lots of Native Milkweed on the beach...
The Monarchs love it...it makes me happy!!
Yes...those are my happy feet!
On a sadder note...
Miss V was here Monday and 1/2 day today...
She has strep throat...and was running a fever..:o(
In between, she was the sweet happy little girl she always is...
We even got in the pool, that Papa was nice enough to heat up...she only lasted about 1/2 hour, but she was happy!!!
No pics of her in the pool, as I was in with her...
I took these later in the afternoon, after she rested for a while...
I sure hope she feels better really soon...she was not as feverish today...
Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery...♥️♥️♥️...isn't she just a doll???
Okay...that's it for me...up to the minute...
We are heading down to the cottage in the morning...
Weather has been crazy...temps in the high 30's c...feeling like over 40c!!!!
It has cooled out a bit this afternoon, and we had 6 drops of rain!!!!
Now the gardens NEED some rain...with all the flowering Perennials blooming...
My Peonies are spectacular...will show you those next week...
Looking forward to getting back to the cottage...
Wondering how my veggies are doing...not sure if there was any rain down there...but I know it was HOT!!!
Hope you are all well...and enjoying yourselves...
Enjoy the rest of your week...
Cheers! :o)

Continuing along, from where I left off...
Remind me to do one post at a time, and be done with it!!
Geesh...why do I get my self into these things!!
Hard enough to remember what I had for breakfast...let alone a week ago!
Hahaha!!
Here we go...lets do this!!
So...this is Thursday...the first day of Fall...the sun greeted us with her smiling face, so we decided it was time to put a fresh coat of stain on the upper railing, above the sunporch...this is our guest room, and actually has a glass door out to the wee balcony...not my favorite spot...the railing {which we had replaced a few years ago}...is very short...so you feel kinda like a giant looking down...not a fan of heights...but...the job needed to be done...and...after all....we are a team...right?
You can see what a big difference it made...especially on the top rail...didn't take us long to apply 2 coats...and admire our handywork!!
After lunch, I made a couple of floral arrangements...
Imagine using Ferns on the First Day of Fall...
Also added a few pieces of Oat Grass, love the texture it creates...
Hydrangeas still beautiful, and a few Sedum stems...
Same idea for the Sunporch...
Just makes things nicer, eh??
Friday was the dull day...we took off for town...did some thrifty shopping...Of course I got a few things!!
We went for a walk in the afternoon...the seagulls and cormorants were going crazy!!!! Not sure if there was a school of fish or what...but...I captured them along the beach from us...making quit a racket!!
I went down onto the beach, to get the photos...boyfriend stayed up on the road...waiting patiently for me, while I looked for beach glass too!!
See him there???
Don't you just love the "body language"...come on...hurry up....what are you looking for down there??? You are not supposed to be down there....it says "Private "Property"....
Such a worry wart...
hahahaha!!
This is how Friday ended...gloomy all day...at least we ate on the sunporch, as it wasn't that cold...
Now....
Saturday was another story....
Glorious Sunshine all day...
I got a big garden cleaned out...
Boyfriend got the loungers painted with rust paint...they looked fabulous!!
After dinner...we enjoyed a firepit on the beach deck...first of the Season...hopefully many more to come!!
Sunday was more of the same...
We left in the afternoon, as we were supposed to take Erika and Miss V out for dinner, for Erika's bday...didn't happen...but they did come for a visit...
Shot of the driveway, as I locked the gate...
Lovely and green,eh? ♥️
I also saw my favorite polka dot horse on the way home...
A few of you had thought she might be pregnant last time I showed her...
how long do horses carry? I admit, I know nothing about this...she still looks the same to me...and I think it was June that I posted her first picture...hmmmm?
Hope that you are all well...so glad it stopped raining here...
Not as much rain at the cottage...but kinda dreary and cool this past weekend..
Good for the trees and shrubs going into the cooler months...
Tonight will be a Ham and Scalloped potatoes...and fresh Yellow beans...
Lovely comforting meal...
Very busy with my crochet...already ripped the sweater out once!! Geesh...
Can hardly believe that this weekend is our Thanksgiving already...
Not ready for this yet!!
Guess I will be hosting...even if only a few of us will actually be eating Turkey!
Hope you have a great day...
I will be back sooner than later....
Cheers! :o)
linda ♥️
Last Wednesday with Miss V, found us at the park!!!
It was a sunny day...but with a wee bit of a nippy wind...
Nonetheless...a good time was had by all...
After the park...it was time for a bit of painting...
Her concentration was unbelievable...
She enjoyed doing this so much...
One for her Mama and one for Papa...♥️
We also made a trip to Walmart, to purchase a booster car seat...
She has reached the weight requirement for one of these...
So much easier than the much larger one we had...
Now...we can take her in either vehicle...not just the 4x4...
She was enthralled with it!!
We used it on Friday...to pick her up after our drive to the cottage...
We had a Friday night sleepover with her, here at home...!!!
And...it was fun!!
I have a few pics to share with you all later...
The picture of RED was taken on Sunday afternoon...
We have had a bit of unwelcome snow here lately!!
The bird feeder shot was taken this morning!!!!!
And...it is not gonna melt!!!! Supposed to be very cold all week...
And...into the weekend!!!!
There goes any cottage sleepovers for a while...:o(
Hope you all had a great weekend...
Did you get any snow??? High winds??? Geesh!!!
Didn't do much today...a bit of laundry...rearranged a few kitchen cupboards...
Oh yes...I baked something quite delicious indeed!!!
It involved yogurt....blueberries...lemon juice and zest...
Yummy!!
Enjoy your evening...
Cheers! :o)
