Cottage Weather.......

As we arrived...

I could see...

There were some leaves down...

And of course...that relentless wind...

 

Before even going inside...

I wanted to check out the new furnace!!!

Look at that beauty!!

All shiny and new...

In...

My boyfriends...

Pristene...

Clean...

Tidy...

Cottage basement!

You can see by the Lake...

Very unsettled weather...

We did get a few rays of sunshine...

BUt...

It was so toasty inside...

I was quite happy!

Didn't even change to my flipflops...

On Saturday...

My boyfriend cut the grass...

Best way to get rid of the first leaves...

I stripped the bed...

We got showered and cleaned up...

Headed home around 3:30...

Stopped in at our son's for a visit...

And later that night...

We were toasty and warm in our dining room at home...

Ahhhhh....what a life,eh??

Made it to Fitness this morning...coffee with the girls...

We miss you Devon...it is just not the same♥️

And...I can hardly believe it...

On my 3 year blogaversary...

This was last Thursday on our trek around the school and up the walkway...and back home....Man she loves that bike!!!
We have pigtails back again...she will be getting a haircut soon...so...

 I thought I would indulge myself!

We are promised above seasonal for the end of the week and the weekend...

Just wanted to mention something...

Today marks the day...3 years ago...that Woke Up...Got Out Of Bed...

Made its fabulous debut!!

I have come a long way, baby!!

It has been a very rewarding experience for me...

I have certainly enjoyed meeting all you lovely peeps...

Some I have gotten to know a bit better than others...

But I truly feel a kinship with you all...

I enjoy reading all of your posts...sharing your happiness...and the sadness...

Wonderful photographs...

Life eh?

Nice to have you all along on this part of the journey...

Thrifty Update......

Happy Sunday to you...

Have purchased a few really nice Thrifty articles the last few weeks... 

This adorable little cardigan set was just $3...and I thought the colour on Miss V would be really nice....

Oh....

We did go to the cottage on Friday...

Blustery...

Damp...

Dark...

BUT...the best news!

THe furnace is up and running!!!

Warmed up the old place in no time at all!

My boyfriend got some more outdoor jobs taken care of...

While I did all the mirrors and gave it a good dusting...

Now.........back to the thrifty finds!!

 

 This adorable handknit pullover was a mere $2....so cute with some leggings...

The picture above came out kinda dark...and looks yellow...but believe me..it is pristene!

 This next one is a real favorite of Miss V's...She had outgrown her previous housecoat { I also got at a thrift shop}...It was more difficult to find one this time....this is probably a boy's housecoat...

But with the addition of some rick-rack from my stash of sewing what-nots...

I think it looks perfect!

And....Miss V loves the wee snowman...♥️

So..........for $2.79....it is utterly perfect!

Will fit her for the whole winter....and we love our housecoat after our bath...

Some sun today....but still windy and chilly...

I put a few plants in the garage last night...just in case some frost hit them...

Don't think we got any frost...but wanted to save my geraniums♥️

I have Beef Stew simmering...

Boyfriend picked up some crusty bread...That's Dinner!!!

I have all the ingredients ready to make an Apple Pie Bread...it has been 4ever since I made one of those...and it is so darn delicious!!!

I've Got My Eye On You.........

What a busy day I had!!!

Just taking a few minutes to post this...

No wonder they call it Miracle Gro!!!

This Violet was on its last legs about a month ago...

SO.... I gave him a Miracle Gro transfusion...and look at that!

Even his leaves are looking rather vibrant, eh??

Think his flowers will be purple with white ruffly edges....nice♥️

Will try and track his progress...

Ok...back to my busy day...

Picked Miss V up at 10:30...

Did the groceries with her...very helpful!! Even bought her 2 wee cute pumpkins...loves them!!

Then to Walmart for a few odds and ends...

Lunch....book reading...naptime...

While she was napping I made fried rice and a green pepper/mushroom/tomato sauce for some boneless chicken filets...

Snuck outside for a while to snap a few photos...

When she awoke...snack...Papa home...we all went for a lovely long walk...

With her "bike" of course...the sun actually came out!!!

I got some lovely photos with the sun out...no time to upload...another post!!

Back home...prepared the chicken which had been bathing in buttermilk...

Covered with Panko and Parmesan cheese...into the oven...

Bathtime....a real laugh...hair dried..."NEW" housecoat on..{more on that later}

Suppertime...didn't eat much...very fussy eater...

Now she is reading with Papa...while I came up here to do this...

Such a sweetie pie...but I am pooped...again!!

Weather was so humid and damp...about an hour of sun...

It was nice while it lasted...

I managed to get one pic from today up here for you...

My Cabbage in my front planter...still dripping from the rain and humidity...

Thanksgiving Dinner.....In A Soup Bowl....Yummy...

After the Thanksgiving meal...

After the leftovers for dinner the next night...

After the Turkey/Tomato sandwiches...

There is only one thing to have...

MY delightful take on turkey soup...

I use my leftover gravy...

Leftover carrots...

Frozen mixed veggies...

Chopped celery...

Chunks of leftover turkey...

Leftover veggie broth and chicken broth...

A bay leaf...

A handful of rice...

Pepper....

And VOILA!!!!

                              

                               Thanksgiving Dinner in a Soup Bowl....

                                      For Lunch!!!

                                        It was delicious!!!

I did get out to the yard...took a few pics...

My boyfriend and I are having Cajun Catfish on the BBQ...

Another Thanksgiving For The Archives.....

 Table set the day before...

I always like to do that...

Gives me time to switch things up...

If I am not happy with the way it looks...

Had wanted Orange flowers...

But...was not to be!

Menu:

Roast Turkey

Mashed parsnips and potatoes with goats cheese

Brocolli...Carrots

Root vegetable roast
  yams
  pink turnips
  small round potatoes
  brussel sprouts

  gluten free gravy
  stuffing 

  gluten free apple pie
  slicecream

 Went with very simple decor...

A few white pumpkins...

My giant Acorn from last year...

And..

Of course...

My wee birds♥️

 My 3 BIG kids had a ball on our bed with Miss V!!!

Playing "Night Night"...so cute! 

 

I was told to serve myself first...

so I did.....

But was quickly joined by the others! 

 

 

 We ate early this year...so it was still light! Nice for a change! All ready for dessert!

And the next morning...

All the clean dishes put away...

Placemats and napkins in the wash...

Fall table all set for a few more weeks!!

This week is shaping up to be pretty busy already!

And the weather....YIKES!...kinda humid...dull...spitting rain...and rain tomorrow too!!

Thought I would get out in the garden today...

Opted for some indoor chores instead...

Turkey soup is bubbling away on the stove...smells heavenly!!

Think we'll have some spaghetti tonight...took some sauce out of the freezer...

Caesar Salad along with that...sounds good!!!
